The assistant manager at this location during lunch hours is a level of costumer service that I never have encountered in any fast casual restaurant in the US. On a recent business trip, my coworker and I stopped in to grab a quick breakfast at around 7:20am. Minus a couple of patrons also waiting for their to-go orders, the place was pretty empty. There were a couple of ladies working behind the counter setting up for the morning, but they quickly attended to us when we were ready to order. Torn between two options, I asked the lady at the counter which one is better: the Asiago bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich or a souffle. She said both are delicious and that's a really tough choice, so I went with the Asiago sandwich and my usual caramel latte. As I moved to a different counter to wait for pick up, the lady chased after me and asked, "Ma'am, if you would have ordered one of the souffles, which one would you have chosen?" I told her the spinach and bacon, and she came back later with the warm packaged souffle, saying, "I want you to be able to try both!" I thanked her twice for my double breakfast and she definitely helped me start my day on the right foot! Amazing service here that went above and beyond, will definitely come back!!! read more

I don't go to Panera often so I can't compare this location to other ones. I've been here about 4 or 5 times. I usually get the Chipotle Chicken which I highly recommend. I only get the half order which for me is more than enough. You can also do the choose 2 option and save a little bit of money if you happen to want 2 different things. You also get to choose either a bag of chips or an apple as a free side. I ordered the greek salad once but wasn't too into it, there was nothing wrong with the salad it just had certain ingredients I wasn't really into. Whenever I go there seems to always be a place to sit, but I usually order to go. Employees are always nice and the wait time isn't long. I've been going to this location for so long. I've grown accustomed to their service and maybe even more accepting then the average consumer. At any rate, I have no complaints about Springfield Panera. I order food and it comes in an acceptable amount of time. The food is always hot and delicious. Lately though, I've only been ordering the French onion soup with a baguette (Amazingly delish). Seating is limited if you arrive during their busy times one of which is lunch (11:00-2:00pm). The employees are professional and courteous and every time I come, it's clean. The desserts taste fresh and my daughter loves the bacon and spinach soufflé and you'd be nuts to pass up their delicious cookies. read more

The tables are always dirty. So are the restrooms. The kiosks are hit or miss. Will they work today? Who knows? Will there be pagers available? Anyone's guess! They are not prepared for business at 6:30 am, even though they open at 6! They fail to order basic supplies, like no cups available for coffee, and no plain cream cheese! Our soups range from lukewarm to warm, never hot and it's sad to see the portion size getting smaller and smaller. Salads are no longer a full bowl. What adds insult to injury is when you write to the company to let them know what's going on at this store, they send you back a form letter that apologizes for not having cream cheese, but misses all of your other points. read more

OK, lest you think I hate all Panera locations, let me now review this one. It's great. We stopped here today after a ride out to the reservoir in Westfield. Service was great, very polite, and they had everything we ordered. Everything was served right away, was fresh, and we didn't have a wait. Why can't the others be like that??? I had the turkey bacon on tomato basil bread, along with their delicious tomato soup. My husband had a ham & cheese, and my daughter had grilled cheese. I asked if they had the NY Style cheesecake cream cheese that West Orange, West Caldwell and Montclair all said they didn't carry, and they did, so I ordered a pumpkin pie bagel with that cream cheese to bring home for later. Yesterday I ordered a salad at the restaurant and it was super fresh as can be. Today I ordered the same salad through rapid pick up. The one I had today was the complete opposite of fresh (Lettuce was brown and soggy and the tomatoes were salsa textured) and to top things off, a big eggshell ruined my appetite halfway through my meal. As for service, the worker on the phone was kind in giving me suggestions and didn't mind me asking loads of questions about their food. The cashiers are always patient and helpful. I appreciate kind people. Rapid pick up was super on point with speed. But I just wish that I had gotten good quality food that I'm used to receiving when ordering in. Ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl which consisted of 2 pieces of broccoli, a lot of rice and one hunk of dark meat chicken which was just fat and grizzle. $13.00. Really gross. While it could have been prepared better, I realize the food is pre-packaged and cooked by the company so perhaps the disgusting chicken is not really this location's fault, however, they did serve it that way. I ordered my food and coffee. .there wasn't "any" coffee available.. it was all brewing (ALL) . If I wanted four tiny bread-only sandwiches, I would have ordered four tiny bread-only sandwiches. $42.39 and honestly was in shock. It would not be possible to put less inside of them - It felt like a contest to see how little this place can put on a sandwich and stay in business. It seems like the food quality at Panera Bread has gone down. I used to work at Panera Bread (at one of their very first restaurants) and they used to be BIG on quality, service and freshness. Welp, not anymore. The prices have increased but the quality has gone down. I ordered the "You Pick Two" special. Half tuna fish on honey wheat with Asian sesame chicken salad with extra dressing. First, the cashier was on her cell phone texting. I started off my order by telling her that my food was "to go" and after she took my order she asked me, "Is it for here or to go." I seriously hate repeating myself but I did in this case. Second, I picked up my food and I decided to "eat in" instead. Luckily I did. They didn't give me any napkins and the bread they gave me (I guess it was for the salad) appeared to have been wrestled away from a rat. There was a big chunk missing. How dare they serve another human being something like this? I just pushed the bread aside and decided to let it go and eat my lunch. The sandwich looked sloppy and the portion I was given didn't look like it could fill a toddler. Oh and lo and behold...they didn't give me my extra dressing. And unfortunately I was not surprised. As if it was my mistake to leave out an ingredient. It's not difficult to follow directions from a receipt. But these people want 15 an hour ? Shame on you Panera. I typically love Panera but dissapointed with my experience today. Yesterday morning I did "rapid pick-up" for two separate orders. I work at a hospital and we were having two separate parties. About 4 meals for one and 7 for the other, which is why I did it in advance. I went today to pick it up. My first bag was ready (the smaller order). I looked it over and everything seemed okay from what I could tell. I mentioned to the guy behind the counter that I had another order I was waiting on (the larger one). He said they had it and it would be out soon. I placed the order for pick up at 11:25, it's now 11:40. I'm standing and waiting, waiting when again, someone else asked me what I'm waiting on. I tell them and offer to give them my print out of my order/confirmation. He says he has it and it'll be soon... So I wait, and wait. Finally I hear someone go "Oh my god, this order is for 11:25. We have to hurry" and now I see them rushing around getting the order together. I was supposed to be back at the hospital with the food by 11:45 and didn't get back until 12:15 because it was clear everyone was just yes'ing me to death. Then I had out all the orders. Almost everyone had something wrong. For instance I asked for a regular greek salad, no chicken and a different dressing - it had loads of chicken, the vinigar dressing and the crutons were terrible/stale. My italian combo had no extra sauce on it or on the side. And as you can imagine most orders were like this. Needless to say I think that's the last time I ever come here. Especially after the other reviews I now see of other people getting messed up orders also. read more

I have gone to Panera Bread countless times and it is by far one of my favorite places to go but the service at this Panera Bread is TERRIBLE. besides the fact that they only carve bread bowls 1/4 of the way and I basically only have three scoops of soup the way the manager HIMSELF treated me today was completely UNACCEPTABLE..... I ordered my meal which was nearly $40 but the cashier asked me if I wanted a water cup and without thinking I said yes that's fine. I fill my water cup with a normal drink not water but I didn't think much of it since she asked me for a water cup and then tapped her screen I just thought it was already included in everything. Sometimes I get water cups in other Panera's and it has never been brought to my attention or has anyone said anything to me before so I didn't think much of it yet again. Then the manager, who's last name I did not get but his first name Is Michael comes to my table where I am with my grandmother and cousin and almost as if he's a parent or a cop he just says what's going on here? Why is there not water in your cup? (Intimidating in a way) and I just respond by saying excuse me because I was taken away by the way he was addressing this issue. I apologize and say I'm sorry I will keep it in mind and am nice until this point. He then comes back with three other cups and as my cousin is grabbing his cup to take a sip he literally TAKES THE CUP AWAY FROM HIM. That is when I had enough and stormed off to the cashier register to pay for three actual cups because the way he was disrespecting me and my family was completely DISRESPECTFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL. He even stormed after me like he wanted to touch me or intimidate me to not make a scene and claimed that he asked nicely for me to pay for them but not ONCE did he say if I could get up and pay for them he just took the cup away. Ordered via online while I was shopping near by. My email said it would be ready by 12:07. I pulled up at the waited at the curb side pick up location not far from where workers exit to deliver the orders. The guy delivering the orders via curbside pick up was unprofessional and wasn't even wearing a panera shirt he was wearing a political shirt and was not following proper protocol to get the orders out fast to the customers. Now instead of having lunch with my family it ended up being luke warm after waiting more than a half hour. I had to go inside and ask what was going on with my order when it was waiting on the side to be delivered to the car. This used to be my go to panera location because I'm always around the area, but I am not so sure anymore. Lack of acknowledgement and not following proper protocol to deliver customers orders to the car. Instead this guy points to the cars and asks the customers what they ordered and walked past by my car reapeadly.
