At the risk of sounding selfish, I miss the good old days when this location was not so popular & bustling. Smh. Nevertheless, soup (broccoli cheddar only) & salad never disappoint!! When it comes to panera, I'm a creature of habit. One day I'll venture out and try some of their new menu items... when I find them appealing. Until then, I'll stick with what hasn't failed my taste buds.

My clients wanted Panera for lunch and ended up picking up food. I ordered everything online and it was about $47. When I arrived I parked in the parking lot. I walked in and went to the pick up area and everything was ready. Before leaving I asked, what seemed to be the manager that was behind the counter, for a napkin and he kind of threw the napkins at me. I know its Covid but wow. He also had no mask on. When I got to my client's office all the food was there which is a plus.

On a recent business trip, my coworker and I stopped in to grab a quick breakfast at around 7:20am. Minus a couple of patrons also waiting for their to-go orders, the place was pretty empty. There were a couple of ladies working behind the counter setting up for the morning, but they quickly attended to us when we were ready to order. Torn between two options, I asked the lady at the counter which one is better: the Asiago bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich or a souffle. She said both are delicious and that's a really tough choice, so I went with the Asiago sandwich and my usual caramel latte. As I moved to a different counter to wait for pick up, the lady chased after me and asked, "Ma'am, if you would have ordered one of the souffles, which one would you have chosen?" I told her the spinach and bacon, and she came back later with the warm packaged souffle, saying, "I want you to be able to try both!" I thanked her twice for my double breakfast and she definitely helped me start my day on the right foot! Amazing service here that went above and beyond, will definitely come back!!!

Ordered Panera through DoorDash for lunch with a few coworkers. When I picked up the dressing container I saw this. I called the location and got a refund. The manager was very nice. I didn't want to eat any of my other food. My coworkers said their food also tasted off and we were missing a good amount of our order. I get mistakes happen and we weren't mad about the missing items but how do you put a moldy egg in someone's food?

Not a very good Panera location. Staff not as friendly as you usually see. Check out the yogurt i was given. It is like half full.

Not a very good Panera location. Not very friendly. Very slow to get my food. The people cooking behind the counter screaming for what they need from the back. Just a bad experience. My yogurt was half empty!!!!

This is a more modern upscaled panera bread with kiosk ordering as well ordering from the table everything was quick and fast really enjoyed our experience here

I don't usually complain and even after all the times that they have either forgotten to give me my entire order, usually leaving out a few things, or burning all of my food or sloppily mixing ingredients into my food that obviously don't belong (I.e., handful of corn in my broccoli cheddar soup), I find that this picture represents a tiny tiny piece of the whole picture of how the Panera staff handles customers food. At least they didn't burn it this time :)

If i could give this no stars i would lmao, ordered a mac and cheese , a small, and they filled the small half way, so just imagine the TWO scoops of mac and cheese i had before it was all gone. 5.35 for a small mac and cheese to not even be filled full. Then my friend ordered a large salad and they separated her salad into two containers instead of putting it into one whole container ?? I don't get it but the experience wasnt all that great, and staff wasnt all that friendly.

Good ole broccoli cheddar soup! Calm settings..

Recently I made it a point to visit to pick up a sandwich for lunch and I'm really glad I did! Al's is very clean and welcoming. When you walk in the cashier counter is to the left, set at a right angle to that is the deli counter where sandwiches are assembled. The menu is mounted on the wall towards the back. To the right is a seating area. Across from the cashier is a fridge with various pasta dishes ready to heat up and eat along with some baked goods and lots of different kinds of chips to go with your sammich. I wound up ordering the Red & White Russian which includes Roast Beef, Turkey, Swiss, Horseradish, Deli Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato & Onion. You can have it pressed by request but I did not do so. I also ordered a side order of macaroni salad. The Red & White Russian was really good! The size was perfect and the bread was soft and chewy. There was a good amount of meat and cheese and I really liked the mustard and horseradish flavors. The macaroni salad was great. I would definitely get both of these again! I'm glad I made it a point to stop at Al's and I plan to do so again in the future!

We called ahead for a couple sandwiches and they were ready within 20 minutes on a Saturday morning. That's pretty impressive as we near the days of summer sandwiches. When I arrived they still needed a few minutes to finish our order up, but I needed that order to nervously make sure I was picking chips out that everyone would like in the car. They said they would be fine with anything but I don't believe anyone would be fine with just any chip. I ended up getting like 6 bags for 3 people. We left with a heavy bag of sandwiches and chips and turned this into a car meal on our way down the shore. It was the perfect sandwich! The red & white had chicken cutlet, greens, roasted red peppers, & moz on a ciabatta bread and I added avocado. Delicious and will be getting ahead. This would be a great spot for lunch and reading the reviews, it looks like they also make a great breakfast sandwich and they cater. With many more drives down the shore, I will need many more car sandwiches. Happy to know a great spot to get them!

I lamented the loss of the "brunch crowd" in my last update and I still stand by that, but I have been happy to see some life returning to the interior of the eatery whenever I have visited. I am a firm believer in Third Spaces for any community, and I believe &grain is an ideal spot for one to adapt into their own Third Space. In addition to their amazing baked goods, &grain continues to serve delicious coffee. Last I checked, they used Stumptown beans which is one of my favorite brands ever. Be warned however, some of their items sell out FAST. Their mini-corn muffins are one of my favorite baked goods ever, but if you don't get there by around 10:15-10:30am they'll all likely be gone. I'm still advocating for the return of the peanut butter/chocolate bread but I may be alone in that. Service is always excellent. The Baristas are friendly and efficient. The kitchen staff is amazingly fast. My orders are always ready before I expect them to be. It's remarkable. &grain rocks. On Sunday 4/15/2026 I placed an online order via their own site at 3pm for a pickup time at 4:30 (for reference they close at 7pm) my card was charged over $50. I arrived at 4:22 to discover a poorly handwritten and placed sign on the door under the store hours (making it hard to read) saying they are closing at 4pm. I received a phone call that didn't display the business name and when you cross reference it doesn't show any association with the business from Chatham NJ (they are located in New Providence). They left no message so giving zero indication it was even from them, (technically I still didn't know if it was I'm just being charitable) and to make matters worse the call was made after the business was already closed for that day making it useless to me. I don't care for excuses they'll render under this comment if they ever see this to attempt to make themselves look better, I have all the proof and evidence like I said either theft of services maliciously or through incompetence, nevertheless stay away from them. I will never patronize them again and strongly urge anyone coming across this to do the same.
