I love Panera Bread, and I love to go there especially this time of year! One of my favorites is the Orange-Cranberry Muffin. I ordered this muffin at the Spring Hill location on U.S. 19 and was shocked that there was no taste of the orange zest in the muffin. I thought that the recipe had been changed. Another favorite is the Autumn Squash Soup. I ordered a bowl and received a bowl with less than half of it filled with soup. I thought to myself that they should consider using smaller bowls to make the soup look fuller. Two days ago, I stopped at Panera Bread on Cortez Blvd. (about 15 minutes away from the other store). I saw that they had the Orange-Cranberry Muffins and I could actually see the orange zest in the muffin and on top. I ordered all that they had. I also ordered the Autumn Squash Soup and received a nice full bowl. When I told them that I had not had as good of an experience at the other location, I was informed that the U.S. 19 location is a franchise and a franchise can cut corners and do what they want. Well, they have now lost me as a customer! You just can't cut corners at Panera and get away with it long-term! There are too many of them around! read more

The only Panera location that consistently messes up my order. When they are able to rectify the issue, there is never an apology, just a half-hearted effort to fix the issue. This is NOT the level of service that I am accustomed to at Panera! read more

Panera's food is quite good, especially the bread which I have a weakness for. You might want to think twice before using this particular franchise as they're either out of your requested menu item, or they "don't make that here" or, if it's a to-go order they'll just put the wrong item in the bag. Use the Panera down by Gulf Square Mall it's much better. read more

Love Panera Bread! The service was incredible. We were greeted when we arrived. Our order was made before we could finish filling up our drinks. The food was delicious. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is because they reduced their menu and got rid of our favorite sandwiches. read more

Used to love the Spring Hill location. After a year of avoiding it, gave it another shot today. I ordered a half sandwich sized steak and white cheddar panini. The bread was burned, there was hardly any meat on it, and barely any cheese and sauce. I was very disappointed as I spent over twelve dollars, closer to thirteen for my lunch alone. I left disappointed and hungry. The cashiers were okay, but the employees handing out food were too busy gossiping and talking smack. I will avoid this location from henceforth. (I had ordered the same meal from the Trinity location and it was fantastic. At the Trinity location at 54 and Little Road, they wait on you like a full service restaurant!) read more

Not as good as the other Panera's we've visited. We went to purchase some bagels & cream cheese one morning recently for our visitors, but they didn't have some of the flavors advertised. We were told it was because "there wasn't much call for those.". They shouldn't advertise them if they don't carry them. The pastries we've bought in the past were somewhat stale, and the cappucinos they make are lukewarm and watery. On a positive note, the staff is always friendly and attentive. read more

The drink area was disgusting! The ice tea dispensers hadn't been cleaned in a long time and all the flavors had a build up on the inside of the tank, not to mention the tea tasted old as if it sat out all night and simply turned back on in the morning. The bathroom smelled like it had sewage backup. I got a ham sandwich and the ham looked gray like it was old and didn't taste right. I saw a rack with sheets of baked items that was right next to sink and no doubt, water would have splashed all over it. Overall, it was clear, that no one was doing a good job of cleaning, and there was questionable foods. Management should be fired. I've been a long time Panera Bread patron and visited many locations in many states and have never seen anything like this location!!! read more

Diet restrictions, no problem. Enjoying good tasting food doesn't have to compromise your diet needs. The Ceylon mango tea is Wonderful.

This is a place that makes you feel good while you're eating. There is a lot of home cooking soups and sandwiches and the Breads are out of this world. The sellers are average and a little bit small but overall this is a delicious place to eat up and it is a nice atmosphere. You don't feel rushed when you're eating and it's a nice place to peace out read more

Panera Bread? Yeah that's about all they give you. Bread. First time here with husband and sister to try this place. Prices didn't seem too bad. Sister ordered Turkey Panini with Avocado and a Baked Potato soup. Husband ordered a Steak and White Cheddar Panini. And I ordered a Turkey and Flatbread with Tomato soup. They had soft drinks I had a Chai Tea cold. Also got pastries to go for dessert later. Looking at this food we weren't sure if it was a side dish or snack. My sisters Panini had like a slice of lettuce, 2 tomatoes and turkey dust with a spot of avocado on it. With a big piece of bread to go with her bland, watery and luke warm soup. My husbands Panini had a sliver of a steakum and lots of cheese. Came with a bag of chips. My Flatbread was burnt with Turkey dust as well, like 8 halves of cranberries and a few leaves of raw spinach. The tomato soup was spicy with mushy crushed tomatoes and big croutons in the middle. And of course big piece of bread. My husband and sister dissapointedly ate their meals. I tried the soup. Gave it to my husband. Took everything else home. Now Chai Tea is naturally sweet. They got this premixed stuff that comes with milk and sugar in it. Was way to sweet and nasty. I threw it out and got a regular ice tea. Later that eve. I tried to eat the flatbread thing for dinner, well the stuff inside, it was even worse. In the garbage. The cinnamon roll i got was like hard bread and cinnamon dust and icing. In the trash. I don't know about other locations or what everyone was raving about. But for $36.00 I expected we were going to enjoy a little healthy type food with a treat and take the food home because it was good. Bucks so waisted this time. read more

Good, but it is a chain. You probably already know, but the bread is baked fresh there, soups are middle of the road, salads and sandwiches are (slightly) inventive and better than usual. MUCH better than a burger! read more

Visited here on a Friday morning in late January 2015. Pleasant atmosphere in the morning with soft classical music in the background. Friendly greeting when you walk in, fast friendly service. Had the egg white avocado and spinach bagel - tasted pretty good but it kept falling apart. Had to end up eating with a knife and fork. Coffee is flavorful and hot. I like Panera Bread. Healthy menu, great cookies, and awesome bagels. I love the iced green tea. The cream cheese flavors are awesome. Free wi-fi so I can meet with clients as well. This is a busy Panera typically and can be crowded on some days during lunch hours. The girls are nice behind the counter. LOVE the antibiotic free chicken and healthier options. Husband complains though that the coffee is not as hot as McDs or Dunkin and he should know, he drinks alot of coffee! No complaints otherwise. read more

We've come to paneras for years and always enjoyed it with the exception of a couple skimpy take outs. Tonight we were extremely disappointed. First of all I ordered the pick 2 ...broccoli cheddar soup and a grilled cheese, bacon, sandwich without the tomato. Shania the cashier spoke very softly and I finally managed to figure out that they were out of the usual bread. After asking twice I settled for white although would have rather had something else. She also did not speak clearly so was difficult to understand. Should not have been the cashier. My husband ordered a Thai salad. Both got drinks. We asked if we could order the usual 99¢ pastry and were told we could get a cookie. Usually we get scones or another pastry. I asked if this was a new policy and was simply told yes. We paid and went to get our order. My soup spoon was dirty so I had to go request another. The girl wiped one with a napkin, but the handle was still greasy and had fingerprints. To top everything off when I started to eat my 1/2 sandwich there was hardly any cheese (none on part) and it had tough bacon bits instead of bacon. My husband heard one of the girls say they were out of bacon, but thought it was after they made my sandwich. In addition, I was charged $5.35 for the sandwich part of my pick 2....$5.35 for a small sandwich, hardly any cheese, and BACON BITS!! Might try once more to see if this is quirk, but that's it for us if it's a new trend. Too expensive for what's served. We can go to a regular restaurant instead. read more

They need new management. They don't know how to treat their employees. Witnessed asst. manager yelling, berating and reprimanding employees right in front of customers. This is HORRIBLE. On one occasion when the customer looked shocked the asst. manager says, "it's okay, she's new." As if it's okay to yell at the an employee just because they are new and in training. Someone needs to contact the owner or district manager. I would but have no idea who it is. These managers, in my opinion, are way too young to be managers and if they don't know that yelling at employees in front of customers is wrong, they have no business being managers. read more

A friend and I came for breakfast at 10, mind you breakfast is served here until 11. We wanted soufflés, which we were told they did not have any. When asked why they didn't have any they stated that they take 30 minutes to cook so they stop cooking them at a certain time... What is this time? 9? Anyways we ordered the Asiago bagel... After our order as we were waiting by the pickup counter they told us they didn't have any Asiago bagels. At this point we just took whatever they had. They should communicate to each other what they do and don't have. Oh, and to make matters worse they shut off the buzzer to make it look like we got our food in a timely manner, when in reality we waited another five minutes for the food we didn't even want. read more

I'm actually surprised the rating is as high as it is, I have always had issues in the past with this particular Panera Bread, though I never did a review on it, I figured I'd give it another chance being it's closer to my home than the one on Cortez- which I have no problems with. There were no souffles on display and as usual the coffee is weak and lukewarm. After three mistakes were made on the order of breakfast sandwiches and one salad, I still was not upset- these are easy to solve problems. What is not however, is the brashness and uncouth attitude of the brunette manager. I'm not one to believe that ALL New Yorkers are rude, though this woman lives up to the stereotypical reputation. I would find her temperament outside of her work quite disturbing, though in a work establishment it is atrocious. The mistakes are an annoying though minor detail compared to not being treated properly as a guest in a place of business, this particular PB has had plenty of strikes- I will not return. I will go to the one on Cortez/50 where the staff is friendly, welcoming and accurate with the orders. read more
