The service horrible and the food just wasn't great. A real lack of professionalism at this eatery; they have a lot to improve on.

Stopped for lunch last Friday with a friend who had never eaten at a Panera Bread. We both had the poppyseed strawberry salad. I give it a 3 rating. I try to call in a order for pick up and as soon as I told the person on the phone he automatically say "one moment please" so it didn't really bother me till I was waiting for over 5 minutes no one came back to the phone so I hung up. Normally a huge Panera fan but this location is sub-par. Visiting from Dallas for work and needed a healthy, quick lunch. Ordered the new chicken quinoa bowl yesterday, which was excellent but the baguette it came with was stale & burnt. Not worth the almost $10 price tag for the meal. Had a similar experience at the drive-thru today as they forgot to give me an apple & did not include any plasticware for my soup. Panera has always been a top pick in my family so when I moved to San Mo I was pretty excited there was one so close to me that also had a drive thru. But every time I have gone there (3 times) they've messed up. first I asked for a baguette w/ my meal & when i check my bag before driving off there was just 1 slice of regular Walmart looking bread? so i go inside to ask & they said they were out of bread... like okay thanks for letting me know? & then again I ordered a plain turkey sandwich (so simple) on sourdough bread & sadly i didn't check my order before heading home, bc my sandwich was on that same sliced bread. & for the final time i decided to only get mac and cheese bc how could they mess that up right? Well I get home & the bowl was maybe half way full & fairly cold.... very disappointed. read more

I love Panera and was really excited when they opened one here. Been disappointed a few times before but I am drawing the line today. I paid $10 for a chicken Cobb salad and couldn't believe the amount of food I DIDN'T get. At least fill the "bowl" with lettuce and make me think I am getting my $$ worth. I also ordered a blueberry muffin and I kid you not, there were only 3 blueberries in the whole dang thing!! Never again!! This place is way over priced and the quality sucks!! read more

I love panera, but this one is the worst. I've ordered rapid pickup many times from them and they always mess up some how. This last time, we did not receive utensils (we ordered salads) and we did not receive our sides. By the time I noticed this, I was 30 mins away. I'm so done with this location. BY FAR THE WORST Panera location (San Marcos, TX) I have experienced. Service was horrible. It was Tuesday @ 10:45 a.m. 3/3/15. I will not be returning and will share my story. Someone needs to check the pulse of the girl at the register (long dark hair), out of hot tea bags and need to restock, hot water was luke warm at best.... And the sign hanging from it stated 6:00am. Who is running this ZOO. Now the food was not much better.... Wish I had my $27.00 back. There was a manager running around with a scowl on her face... Such a shame... The DALLAS locations have their act together. Frankly I prefer La Madeleine and have NEVER had a bad experience with their food or service. Ugh... Just rotten experience and they had maybe 4 customers, would hate to see this place during lunch... You have been warned. read more

Panera is kind of expensive for what it is. $30 for two people and a small kids meal. At 6pm in the evening it was quiet yet all the tables were filled with crumbs. I feel bad for the staff, I'd say 20% of them are about to get fired - the minimum wage is going up, so as any good business owner would do, they are installing order-yourself-kiosks, which will make checkout staff totally redundant... Probably for the best, since they often muck up orders anyway. Anyway, food is decent but for $30 I'd rather go to HEB and buy two NY strip steaks and cook at home or hit up the sushi bar. read more

Great service! All the employees were incredibly friendly and helpful. My go to order is the pick two with Mac and cheese (the best I've ever had) and the tomato soup. The coffee cake is also delicious. I recommend pairing it with one of their herbal teas! read more

If you want to order food for delivery that will actually arrive, don't order from Panera. I placed an order yesterday before noon, and it said it would arrive in approximately 30-40 minutes. I received an email at 11:55 a.m. saying it was out for delivery. At 12:35, I called and Sarah said it was about to leave, and they had an "influx of orders." At 1:10, I called back and the manager (Steven) said it should be arriving soon. I explained that I had an afternoon full of meetings, and had now missed my lunch break. He asked if I wanted to cancel it, but said I would have to go into the store to have a refund processed. At 1:20, the tracker on the website said the food had been delivered, but it had not. I called back and Steven said the driver was experiencing problems with the app, and asked if I wanted to cancel it. I told him since I had paid for the food, I would appreciate it being delivered. When the delivery guy arrived, he told my office staff that he received a call at 12:30 saying the order had been cancelled, and was almost back to the store when I called to check on my delivery. Bottom line--they need to get their act together and communicate better if they're going to offer delivery services. Also, I know for a fact that someone across campus ordered after me and received her order before me with no problems and no delay. I will not be back, even though I have been a regular of Panera since they first opened in San Marcos. read more

The breads and deserts are just great. I really like it and some of it reminds me of home. The bearclaws are a must try. I also love the tortellini and toasted cheese bagels with cream cheese. I will say that it's pretty pricey especially if you take your family. Hence the 4 instead of 5 stars. read more

Got the pick 2 combo and found it awfully disappointing. I ordered the bbq chicken flatbread and broccoli and cheddar soup. The flatbread had MAYBE a bite of chicken in it. The soup is okay, super salty though and the bread that came with the soup was rock hard! The girls working the drive thru apparently seemed confused on who was supposed to be taking orders as I was talking to two different girls. I went to this Panera today 5/26/16. Something new that I noticed about this Panera was they have kiosks where you can order and don't have to wait in line. This is a nice feature but I was paying cash so didn't use it this visit. The employee who waited on me his name was Guy. He lacked personality and when I said "Thank you" twice he didn't respond or acknowledge me either time. However, my food was good and the restroom was clean. read more

Food is not bad, just what you would expect from a chain restraint. Has somewhat of a cafeteria feel. Price for what you get is a little on the pricey side. Have I had better? Yes! I really want to like Panera's. However they can't seem to ever get my order right. I HATE onions... and onions are like on everything on their menu. No matter how many times I order and request no onions... they STILL put them on. You bring the salad back up and they just take them off... well GUESS WHAT that nasty onion flavor is STILL on the food. The drive through is even worse... They always forget my cookie. You'll get a solid Panera experience eating in. The drive thru accuracy is hit or miss. The rapid orders do not get attention to meet the "as advertised" expectation -- so dont expect it to be ready when you get there ... even when you plan / request a later ready time. When I spoke with the manager on duty ... who was busy taking care of his personal friends in front of other customers and employee... he could have cared less about my order, its problems (missing items) or that there was a timeliness issue. So I came here because my family had been telling me how good Panera is. I'm a big Jason's Deli fan so I was excited to try someplace new. Soo disappointed! I had heard about the great pastries and already planned to take some to go. When I looked there was a fly bouncing around on each.. gross! If you're going to have an open pastry bar you better make damn sure no bugs are around, otherwise put it behind glass!! I got a frontega chicken sandwich that had one small piece of chicken on one half and 2 on the other. I have never been so disappointed. Since I took it to-go I didn't realize this until I got home. I am a little disappointed. I stopped into this location to get some breakfast and a hot chocolate and what I received was not what I ordered. Mistakes happen and I understand that but this is the second time at this location. I ordered a hot chocolate, scone and a soufflé. I received my food and waited a good while before the young lady came to the window to see what else I wanted. I explained I was waiting on the hot chocolate and she realized she didn't put it on the order so I paid separately for my hot chocolate. so now after being in the drive through for about 15 mins she brings me my drink and I leave. No big deal, and I am on my way to work. I get to work... AND its not hot chocolate. It Is some kind of coffee espresso drink. I don't drink coffee and now it is just a waste. Now that I am at work I cant go back and get a new one. I didn't review the first time I had an issue in the drive through but the second time in one month? separate things. I will probably avoid going here to make sure I get what I am paying for. read more
