As is often the case, the reviews of both locations were accurate. The portions were meager for the price point and I was unimpressed with the service. The cashier added on sauces to each sandwich at a whopping $1 each. "Do you want the sauce on the side?" I wrongly assumed this meant as rather than on the sandwich it was in a cup. Nope, it was an extra cup of unnecessary sauce with that up charge. In addition to being the cashier, she also prepped the raw chicken into batter. However, I didn't not see her wash her hands after cash handling, or washing them after the chicken and returning to the register. Being short handed is one thing, but this is a food safety concern.

It's been awhile since I've had cornmeal coated fish. I guess it's a good welcome back to the South. I thought it was very tasty. It was extremely hot when it was handed to us. I had fries with my fish which were pretty hot when they arrived but they cooled off before I finish my meal and so maybe not the best choice. The wife had green beans with her chicken and she thought they are very good. The biscuits are a little bit puny but they tasted okay. The hush puppies I had with my fish were excellent and highly recommended. The staff behind the counter really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Get us our food. Make sure we had everything we need. The place was clean. It was comfortable and definitely worth another try. (Especially on Tuesdays if you're over 65 because then they have a senior discount on that day of the week for 25% off)
