When your mom is in the hospital and you need a quick snack (onion rings) and want to bring her a root-beer float this is where you go. They were pretty slammed so it took a while to get my order but all the servers are so friendly and courteous that it always leaves you in a good mood. I like the old style drive up order and eat ambience. Love sonic floats, shakes, beverages and fruit drinks. read more

I ordered the coney foot long and it was old and burnt. How is this not visible before putting it in the bun? I normally dont do views but this is ridiculous. read more

This sonic is the worst to be completely honest, i never leave bad reviews... but this one was enough to leave one! Not only did we have to wait 15 minutes to talk to someone, they hung up the stall and we had to pull through the drive thru. We placed the order and got to the window, the dude was nice enough. But they forgot to bag half of the order... if we wouldnt have checked we would have left with 10 dollars of product missing. On top of that they got almost every single thing on our order wrong. Unfortunate that i have to leave a review this way but i feel like others need to be aware to check their food BEFORE leaving and expect to be sitting here waiting for food for an hour. read more

Terrible experience. We waited over 45 minutes because of a system freeze. When we finally got our food it was missing items. when they finally gave us half of the things they missed the girl at the window slammed the window in our face after asking us if we wanted fry's for the MEAL that we ordered. Very rude staff!! read more

Customer service is always terrible here. As someone who works in the food industry I am frustrated with the rude ass attitudes the employees have. If you hate your job why'd you choose it? Do better sonic honestly read more

Stopped in for Happy Hour. Do not really have any complaints for our first and likely only visit here as we were passing through after a plant show. Drinks came out as expected, came out fast enough. Decent experience today. read more

Horrible service once again! Will drive across town before I give this location any more business. Poor management is the only thing I can think of for the continued terrible experiences here. read more

The food itself is everything you would expect from any Sonic Drive-In- when you can actually get it. The problem is that since Covid, the ownership/management has made understaffing a permanent and intentional part of the business model. The employees that are actually there seem to be working hard to try to make the restaurant run and the customers happy, however there never seem to be enough of them on the clock to actually run the place successfully. Ownership/management doesn't seem to get the message that it's too much to ask to have the same people take the orders, make the food, deliver the food, and do all the other maintenance tasks required in a successful restaurant. It always results in poor service and overly extended wait times, no matter how hard the employees on the clock try. In fact, I have abandoned my attempts to get food before placing my order twice this week, after waiting 15 minutes first time, and 10 minutes the second time (during normal business hours with other potential customers present). The thing is, anything that is available on the Sonic menu is available at other, competing establishments within a mile or two of this location, and with similar or better quality and value. It's not even that ownership/management can claim the local labor market is at fault, because there are so many competing restaurants nearby and in town where you can get similar, or better food, and better service. The sad part is, employees and customers keep trying, but ownership/management just isn't getting the message about their poor business practices. read more

Ordered a SWEET TEA and SMALL TATER TOTS ! 30 minutes to place the order and about 15 to receive THEN the tea was UNSWEET AND THE TATER TOTS WERE COLD . Pushed the button and I told the lady what had happened and she said I don't appreciate being yelled at . I told her I have difficulty hearing and she repeated again she didn't appreciate being yelled at something I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER !! I figured I'd just write a review to boycott this sonic for me as the treated a DISABLED WOMAN VERY DISRESPECTFULLY!!! read more

Will NEVER come to this location ever again. Sat at the drive thru for 30 minutes and never had anyone take my order. Then I decided to pull up to the window to try ordering there and nobody opened the window to me. Terrible service. Waste of my time. 30 minutes I can never get back. read more

DO NOT STOP HERE!!! HOTEL CALIFORNIA. You will never leave! They are the absolute worst so called business ive ever patronized. They never responded to me sitting at the drive through so I drove to the window. Again totally IGNORED. I had to bang on the window and the girl was like "whatever". They take forever to do ANYTHING here. They have to have the absolute worst manager in the universe. read more

$6.56 pre-tip got me a 3pc Super Crunch chicken strips w/dip and a large cherry limeade at noon Monday. Based on popcorn chicken waiting time in the past and the number of cars in the lot, I did NOT expect delivery within two minutes of placing my order. I was frankly shocked. In a great way. You can see from the picture this is snack size, nowhere near Hungry Man kind of fighting weight. Given the lightning delivery speed I'd have bumped them up a star but the smallest finger was more crunch than anything and waaaay dry. Fortunately they were generous with the honey mustard, and the other two pieces were perfection. Not a bargain price, but convenient. And still tastier than any dollar menu. read more

I am a Sonic Addict! I LOVE their ice! My drink of choice is a Route 44 Diet Dr Pepper with vanilla! Ordering on the app makes it Happy Hour ALL DAY - anytime! read more

I normally love Sonic for the mozzarella sticks and their tots, so I googled them and it said they closed at 11pm so I hopped in my car drove ten minutes just to pull up at 10:12 and to hear sorry we're close. Very odd. A waste of time and gas. Do not recommend. This is the second time I've had bad customer service at this location read more

Just no. I ordered a large unsweetened tea with extra ice and extra lime. I got unsweetened tea with a moderate amount of ice and NO lime. Did I mention they charged me $1 for the lime I DIDN'T get? Thank goodness I had limes at home that I can add to it. I guess I'm just out the dollar. Unfortunately, I don't have an ice maker that makes the "good" ice, so can't fix the issue of not enough ice. Save yourself the trouble and get your tea with extra ice at chick-fil-a. It's better there anyway. read more

Stopped on drive from Dallas to SAn Antonio. Tried to order and person taking orders was exceptionally RUDE! I left! Poor customer service!

Bad bad bad service! I waited like 3-4 minutes at the drive thru and the girl just kept asking to hold on.... the two cars in front of me had like 1 item each and they waited at the window for a long time. I ordered a large slush - before 10 am so on sale for $1.47) and I asked her if the still had the "mini" toaster sandwich and she said yes. I ordered one. She asked what kind of meat....I repeated a mini bacon. She repeated the order and I said MINI. At the window she charged me over $6. I asked aren't the drinks on sale... she said not medium. I said I ordered a large. She said she would fix it. She gave me my food and the receipt (not detailed). Still charged over $6. I asked for the detailed receipt and she had to pick it up off the floor. I then told her she charged me for a full sandwich and a medium drink still. I told her I ordered and Mini sandwich and a large drink and that my order shouldn't be more than $4-$5. She just stared at me. I asked for a manager and she said we don't sell MINI sandwiches and I explained that I asked and the girl said YES. I then asked about the drink and why she didn't fix it? She said she did, she gave you a large drink. Why didn't she fix the price and she said... I don't know. I asked for all my money back. read more

WORST SONIC EVER. this location is a nightmare. Food is always cold, fries & tots always soggy and over salted. NEVER HAVE THEY EVER gotten my order right. can't hear them out of the speaker. takes forever for them to answer you. absolute NIGHTMARE of an establishment. Do yourself a favor and run far far away_ trust me read more

I've been to this location 5 times. 4 out of the 5 times they have either completely messed up my order or left something out. They always are willing to fix it but since it would be at least a 20 minute turn around to get back home I just deal with it. On my last visit they did however promise to refund one of the last items they forgot but never issued the payment. Clearly they have major problems or I'm just extremely unlucky. read more

The food & drinks are good, but the staff make too many mistakes on your order. I went there today & ordered the following: 1 kids meal with burger, apple sauce & pineapple slush 1 kids meal with hotdog, tots & pineapple slush 1 #10 with no mayo, sub honey mustard, tots & green tea This is what I received instead: 1 kids meal with burger, apple sauce & ORANGE slush 1 kids meal with hotdog, tots & Unknown slush (it did not taste like pineapple at all, not sure what it is) 1 #10 with honey mustard, drowned with mayo, NO tots, & a green tea. They made 4 mistakes on my order. Seriously? The carhop girl was nice & apologetic when I showed them I didn't receive my full order. I had already left when I discovered the faux pas with the kids drinks & the awful mayo that overwhelmed the chicken sandwich. Gross. read more

I have a soft spot in my heart for Sonic. It's simply a great concept. Especially at the time of the year when you can roll down your windows, enjoy an evening breeze, and not worry about sitting in a small puddle of your own sweat as you eat... I had a great time with my dad here the other night. After securing some pepper spray at Academy to deter any more would be 4 AM door bell ringers at the new pad, he surreptitiously drove us past the Sonic nearby. After minimal arm twisting, I ordered a classic hot dog, a small order of tots, and we split a Coke Zero. He hit the jackpot with a delicious Frito Pie wrap. Get out of my face. We topped it all off with a couple vanilla cones. Total spent: less than $7. Why I love Sonic: I love the car hops. The ones in San Marcos always seem to be top notch and I don't quite know why that is. Whether it's the Rattler or Bobcat spirit, they always seem to be in great moods and genuinely friendly. I also love the prices. Everything is from your car. It's like a drive-in movie, which I don't know why they no longer exist, because that too is a great concept. The one ding: Our cake cones were stale...really, really stale. Not okay....yes, I ate it. I always end up spending more time at Sonic than I set out to. I love to tune my station to some mellow music or to NPR and just sit back and watch the sky unfurl. Or, I love talking with my dad, realizing there is still so much I don't know and so much I want to know. I have got some wonderful parents. So, yes, I certainly have a soft spot for this little drive-in. read more

This location is the worst in San Marcos. At first I thought it was because they were a "newer" establishment. No, it seems to be the norm with them. The average time I spend waiting after an order is placed is about 30 mins. This is ALL the time. I can never come here if I'm in a rush. Expect to wait if you come to this location. read more

It's a Sonic. A summer staple. In fact, I never eat here during the winter. I love going on a summer afternoon to have a shake and feed my dog tater-tots. In fact, he knows the words "cheesy tater-tots", and gets perky and pumped about it. Oh! I lied, I totally go here in the winter. But only in February for the cherry chocolate shake. Sweetheart shake! Now I'm craving one, wonder if I can order it now??? read more

What's the point of using the app if you're just going to delete my order after I check in. Just to improve your times. And then forget me

Ordered medium cheddar peppers, then I guess they were out but they just replaced it for medium mozzarella sticks not even an upgrade to large, but actually costed almost a dollar less and they didn't refund the payment. If you want a Dark Chocolate Pretzel & Chip Master Blast, THIS location is the place to get it! I have tried ordering it in Kyle on FM-150 and in S. Austin on Slaughter Lane, and they both didn't add anywhere NEAR enough chocolate, and no pretzels ANYWHERE! At Slaughter Lane there were still noticeable chunks of vanilla ice cream, for goodness sakes! Here, it was a night and day difference! I'm talking SO much more chocolate, and it actually looked and, more importantly, TASTED like the picture! I didn't realize that there were supposed to be candied pretzels mixed down into the chocolate, so I feel it definitely portrays the 'Sweet & Salty' Sonic was going for! read more

Waited for 10 minutes and the station finally reset. Changed stations because we assumed it was broken. Another 5 minutes went by and somebody finally acknowledged us with a "please wait." Another 5 minutes went by with no further contact. The cars on either side of us pulled up and ordered yet they seemed determined not to take ours. Left after wasting 20 minutes. read more

Me and my family went to order ice cream last night 30 minutes before this location closed. We ordered 6 items in total 3 blasts and 3 shakes. We got charged for 7 items (an extra large shake was added for some reason) and we only got the 6 items that we tried to order. Our carhop repeated everything back to us correctly but on our receipt, everything was mixed up and wrong, not what she said. We added extra items into our large sakes and blasts and they did not add them in, they added extra items to some that we did not ask them too and our blasts were of milkshake consistency, melted very quickly. I called he store, the manager said there was nothing they could do about the consistency of the items because their ice cream machine was over worked and just making ice cream like this. Why did you not tell us of this problem in the first place? I would not have ordered blasts in the first place if I knew I was going to get all shakes (blasts are more expensive) In the end we spent over 40 dollars on 4 large shakes (when we only ordered 3 and only got 3!) 1 large blast 1 medium blast 1 small blast the only thing right with our order was the medium and small blast and they still were milkshake consistency, very disappointed!!!! We also never got a refund for the extra large shake we got charged for and never even received or an offer to correct our order when they gave us all the wrong mix ins that we even paid extra for. read more

There's nothing better than chomping down on a Footlong Coney and washing it all down with a Strawberry Limeade with extra strawberries after a long day of shopping at the outlet malls in San Marcos.
