Came in pretty early in the morning but were greeted by a friendly staff member. We chose a couple donuts, one for each of us, and she was nice enough to give us a couple original glazed donuts for no additional charge! What great customer service. Really put a smile on my face. I also used the restroom while there. It was clean and well-stocked. There are codes on the doors, but the women's was propped open for easy access. (I imagine staff gets as tired of answering what the code is as guests are of asking!) Ample hand sanitizer available upon entry. Amazing service and the donuts were delicious. We were in town visiting and since the Krispy Kreme's near us are all closed we wanted to stop and get some donuts. The lady who helped us was incredibly nice and patient. We were 4 people and it took us a while to choose all the flavors we wanted. I went to the drive thru earlier today and the service was very weird. The person didn't know how to speak to me and then didn't give me the proper change for my order. When I asked for the rest of my change she was confused on how to actually do the math and had to get a manager to help. I'm disappointed. Me and my wife talked for days about traveling to Krispy Kreme on Thursday to get a dozen assorted donuts. We live in Seguin and it's about a 35 minute drive to San Marcos. There are many other donut options around, but we wanted Krispy Kreme. We get there & the parking lot was full. Not for donuts, but for the restaurant / bar next door. We finally find a spot to park and go in Krispy Kreme at 8:40pm. There were no other customers in the store. Just us. I believe our "host" was Sophia based on the receipt. Friendly but seemed like she wanted us to finish fast & leave. We noticed there's not a big variety of donuts. There were no strawberry iced, white Kreme filled, lemon filled, only 1 raspberry filled, etc. Disappointing. We ended up getting a bunch of custard filled, cake batter, glazed & blueberry. Not the assortment we drove 35 minutes to get. When I pointed out the lack of options & half their menu missing, Sophia was never rude, she just didn't care. No "Sorry about that" or anything. We paid for it & left. Oh and leaving the store, we had to fight traffic in the Krispy Kreme parking lot that had 0 Krispy Kreme customers in it. Everyone was walking over to the restaurant. Guys... do better! I luv your donuts but there's no reason to be out of stock for probably more than half your menu 1 hour and 20 minutes before you close. I guess we'll be back but not soon. (With all due apology to Bill Dickason.) Yesterday, the newest Krispy Kreme opened in San Marcos next to Pluckers at the intersection of South Guadalupe and Interstate 35 in the former Texenza Coffee location. Unlike previous Krispy Kreme stores I've been to where the emphasis is on gawking at the awesome conveyor belt system and the donut-making process, this store is all about the display of finished product and beverages and features a comfortable dining area. It's a great addition to San Marcos, which previously lacked a decent donut shop. Yes, they still offer you a free sample, and, yes, the donuts are every bit as good. Note that this is a limited hours store. It is my understanding they are open from 6 AM until 11 PM daily. A drive-through is offered in addition to dining room service. I'm sure this new KK will be the end of any attempt I have made at a diet, but I'm happy for San Marcos that it's here as an alternative to yet-another-breakfast-taco stand. Stopped at this location (San Marcos, Texas) at 9.10pm on a Saturday and was told they had no original glazed donuts available....!?! I was told, "Since we're getting ready to close, we stopped making them until tomorrow." Their webpage says they close at 11pm, the guy at the counter said they actually close at 10pm...but like I said...it was 9:10pm. I guess this is the new normal? Terrible experience! I went by yesterday morning. As soon as they opened...the HOT light was on. I ordered 3 glazed and a small dark roast. The one donut was cold and hard. Check your receipt! You will be charged a different price than listed! I ordered 2 americanos (med), original donut, and an apple fritter. I noticed that the price that rang up for the drinks was different than on the menu (11% increase). I pointed out the difference but the cashier gave me an indifferent shrug and simply explained that "corporate" had taken over the location and had increased all the prices (but had not changed the menus). Rather than trying to fix the issue (like a small discount to match the price) I was only asked if I still wanted them anymore. Really annoyed and disappointed by the dishonesty and lack of effort to fix the issue for a customer. We stopped in Krispy Kreme in San Marcos after having dinner in San Marcos. The establishment was spotless as usual. The employees wore masks and we also had our masks on. There was plexiglass and touchless pay. The doughnuts were delicious as usual, we ordered regular Krispy Kreme doughnuts with one filled with cake icing and one stuffed Oreo. They had several new flavors and the counter where you place your order was full of delicious doughnuts. Recommend stopping in while traveling through because you can alway buy a couple dozen and put them in the freezer until you need to sugar fix then pull them out of the freezer and put in the microwave for approx 10 seconds and they taste like you just brought them home. read more

The "hot light" was on. If you know, you know ;) just kidding. Hot light means the giant neon red light that is in the windows is "on" so they give out a free glazed donut to every guest upon entry! Location was kind of dirty. Red light was on, not sure why, no donuts being made on arrival, in fact machine was off. No donut offered to try. I had a birthday coupon and the mgr couldn't process it. He was nice enough to honor it though without it scanning from the app. I had the blueberry donut, it was not fresh for sure! My son had the coffee and said it was bitter, I tasted it, he was right, not excellent quality. All in all, place could use some improvement. I'm just not a big fan of doughnuts. I'm more of a bagel girl. That being said, the service here at this location is awesome. I recommend going inside to order, even though there is a drive-thru. You might get a free doughnut out of it. I just don't do sugary very well. And Krispy Kreme is the sugariest of sugary doughnuts. There's just too much icing on their doughnut and not enough doughnut to go around. I always make the mistake of ordering a dozen because, as a Chinese girl, I just can't pass up the "cheaper deal." I waited about 5 minutes and decided to leave and saw the drive through was quicker so decided to go there, I was greeted with an attitude already and she said "can I help you?" I thought well, yes.. duh.. anyway the woman mis heard me when I asked for 2 chocolate milks and thought I said 2 chocolate filled donuts, when I told her I wanted 2 chocolate milks, one whole milk and one 1% milk she repeated it back to me. Then when I got to the window she had the wrong milk so I told her and she told me I made it to complicated when I ordered...
