Awhile ago, I had a meal at the airport Panera that I fell in love with-the chicken rice soup with a hearty roll on the side. So when I learned that a Panera Bread was opening not too far from my home, I was stoked. But I patiently waited for all the hype to calm down before I made my first visit. Tonight was the night-my friend and I visited for a post-work dinner and I ordered my beloved soup. Unfortunately, what I got was a regular chicken noodle soup. I opted to go ahead and eat it since I don't like to cause a fuss nor do I like to waste food. The soup was pretty good, but I really wanted that soup I'd tried earlier in the year. Oh well, next time. Service was friendly and the store was spotless clean. There were some delicious looking baked goods in the case that I'm not regretting passing up. I think I'll need a re-do for the soup and will get one of those honkin' cookies that looks so yummy. read more

I use to love Panera but the past few years I've been let down. I thought it was just the location in California but it seems like something higher up might be the problem. Here are my complaints with this new location... 1. I went through the drive through. I understand salad/sandwich places can take longer but yikes... 35 minutes with a screaming 5 month old. And once you are in the drive through you are stuck. I was pissed. If you are going to build a drive through, you have to be efficient enough to run the drive through. 2. Portions. My sandwich was ok, could have used more meat based on the cost. My salad was pitiful especially for $8. 3. Presentation. I wasn't asked what side I wanted (I was given a baguette but would have preferred the chips), and it was just tossed into my to go bag. Sanitation issue I would think. First time to Panera Bread period. Always wanted to try this place and I got to try it in Salt Lake City. I love this place. I was actually looking around to have something light and healthy for dinner in SLC and thought of this place....tried it and I love it. I ordered the chicken rancher sandwich and the southwest chicken salad. Would definitely go back to try their soups and they also have bake items on display that look really good. read more

The portion size was decent, but the food was mostly bland. However, the staff was very friendly, and the store was fairly clean. The papaya green tea was not bad, but it lacked the papaya flavor. Towards the end, we also ordered takeout since it was not busy. Sadly, they messed up our order :(. Additionally, I would not recommend the fruit cups. It was not fresh and the fruits were not evenly distributed among the cups. We ordered 4 fruit cups, and some clearly had more fruits than others. read more

For the second time in 2 months, I placed a "to be delivered" order with this Panera location. Upon delivery, items were left off the order, and for the second time ,I was told "sorry, there is nothing we can do." This after paying extra for the food, delivery, and a nice tip. They gave me the option of driving to the store to pick up missing items. Fool me twice, I'm done. read more

As much as I love Panera bread, this location is terrible! For how expensive & fancy this area is, it sure sucks at customer service. Waited in the drive thru for 30 minutes and then had to go inside just to say they're still making it, even tho it was only two sandwiches and a salad. Gave it a try. And the French dip was great the dipping sauce was pretty good. Add too many onions in there and not enough dip. And i had the chilli too it was good and spicy and the French dip was better then firehouse and Arby's (french dips) am still on the hunt for a great French dip. read more

I keep trying to eat here but it is always too busy. A few months ago, I tried to order on DoorDash and, after placing my order, was told they they were too busy to take my order. Today, months later, I decided to give them a second chance. I walked in, and every single seat was taken, and the line was out the door. Ordering this meal online was impossible. The afternoon staff didn't know the system. The morning gal was FANTASTIC- and that is where the positive ends. The food was late, some of it was upside down, the delivery driver had no care in the world that he was late. I rushed out to help bring in the 85 meals, and the second I wasn't looking he took off. Didn't set up, didn't ensure we had what we needed. The excuse of "tire is low on air" for being 30-45 minutes late, not setting up and having the box lunched upside down has me wondering what happened to my order?!? All these reviews are about how long the wait is. Guys, the first Panera in Utah just opened. Of course, the wait is going to be long! If you go during the lunch or dinner rush, be prepared to wait. Until there are more locations in Utah, it's going to be busy. If you've never been to Panera before, this is how it is sometimes. This is not fast food, the majority of the food with the exception of their soup and bakery items are made to order. It's like going to a restaurant and ordering a meal, they have to prepare it. I'm not sure what all of these people are complaining about, it's not a fast food restaurant! I've been here multiple times, the employees have all been extremely friendly and helpful. All of you negative reviewers need to keep in mind that every single one of these employees has never worked at a Panera before. Like, none of them! It's not like they're hiring one or two new employees to fill open vacancies. Every single one of them is still learning about the company, policies, and the menu! One time when I had to wait for a while, they refunded my order. They give free bakery items for waiting a long time, and they are not rude to you. So, if you're be a jerk and give this location one star because you have to wait a while, that's how every single restaurant that comes into Utah is. Soup was great and friendly staff. Have 11 hrs of traveling, the mellow well kept restaurant was a nice change. Warm and inviting.

It is nice to know that Panera Bread has a store outside of the airport. The Riverton location was easy to find and it was easy to order. The food was good and the place clean. There was a worker always walking around making sure garbage was cleaned off the table and wiped down. read more

I mean, it's Panera. There is jokes all over the internet talking about how panera is overpriced cafeteria food. I think it is slightly better than cafeteria food but not by much. First, I am a huge fan of Panera's broccoli cheddar soup. I have loved it for years and think it is delicious! It is easily one of my favorite soups and I love that I can even buy it in certain stores. However, something about getting it fresh at a Panera Bread location is something else. My friend stopped by here on the way home, when I was with her and I hadn't been to a Panera in years. I was excited to see a location in Mountain View Village. The drive through wasn't busy and it didn't look like the parking lot was too full either. I thought the pick two combo looked promising so I ended up ordering that. I, of course, got the broccoli cheddar soup and then the pepperoni flatbread pizza. I was expecting to have a bit of a smaller pizza but I guess I am not going to complain about more pizza. The broccoli cheddar soup really hit the spot and the pizza was good. The sauce on the pizza was interesting--it almost tasted spicy--it had a bit of a tang to it. I returned to Panera Bread a few days later, thinking it would be a quick and easy option, but boy was I wrong. I was standing in line and the entire inside is a cluster. There are tablets to the right, where you can place an order, or you can order with someone working behind the register. Both lines were long and it was a bit confusing. I stood around the lines for a while but people were taking forever, going through the entire menu 6 times on the tablet. So I finally decided to just call it. My first trip to Panera Bread was much better than the second time, but the second time was still just average at best. I would definitely still go back at some point but I am not dying to go back either. Panera is not cheap but it's not amazing either. They hit an average on all the categories, which is better than being horrible, I suppose. I am glad we have a Panera Bread option in the Mountain View Village area. read more

Who offers a kids turkey and cheese sandwich that costs more than the adult half sandwich? And the sandwich is made on wheat bread with lettuce, tomato and red onion and mayo. Not kid friendly at all. I asked for a refund, they said they would remake the sandwich but once a kid has in their mind they don't want the sandwich they won't eat a replacement. Went through the Drive thru here with my girlfriend- we both wanted a "you pick 2" so we ordered, but never got asked what sides we wanted or if we wanted a drink even though it comes included. Roll up the the window, get told it was $35 and looked at the receipt, got charged for a full sandwich on my order even though the whole point of a you pick two is for smaller sizes of various foods. No drink was selected and never asked, we both got sides of bread and my girlfriends sandwich was just under $7 for what looks to be a very small corner slice. Place is absurdly expensive, food tastes fine but feel like we got stiffed by Rielle at the window. Wouldn't have came here if we didn't have a gift card but won't be back. read more

Terrible service. Hate the new menu! And why on earth did they get rid of the cookies with icing??? Smaller portions. Higher prices. Been to this location several times since other than the SLC airport this was the only location. They never seem to have enough staff and always forget utensils when you order from the drive thru. The first time since no one was in line I went around to the drive thru again and I was very kind and just said I needed a fork for my salad and spoon for my soup. They decided to be rude and gave me a bag full of utensils. Like 8 of each. Wow! They told me it was from someone in the kitchen as they smirked at me. Really? My last visit was just a few weeks ago. No utensils again. I parked and went inside and couldn't find them. The highly coveted utensils are under the food order pick up counter and people were standing in front of them. I couldn't see them. So I waited in line to talk to someone. After 5 minutes I just gave up and left. So after living in Illinois and Panera was one of my favorite places to eat. I'm done with them out here in Utah! And you might want to consider bringing back well loved favorites! read more

I drove through shortly after 7:00 pm and found out they closed early due to an employee meeting. They show open until 8:00 pm everyday online, which I checked just before heading out. There were at least 5 other cars at the drive through. They should have their meeting after they close at 8:00pm. read more

Not impressed. The food wasn't that great, and the price is ridiculous. I don't think it is worth it at all.

First of all, I hate ordering from machines. I am a dinosaur when it comes to computers. I prefer dealing with people. I had a half of a French Dip sandwich and a cup of French Onion soup. Both were a big disappointment. The little bit of meat on the sandwich was dried out and the au jus was a thicker version of my soup. The soup had fewer onions than the au jus and about 8 croutons. There was a little bit of cheese sprinkled on top. I was given a little more cheese when I went back and asked. I was looking forward to trying the food. My friend ordered a salad. She was disappointed also. The best part of both our meals were the drinks. I had coffee and she had tea. The drink area was clean. I went back to refill my coffee and every coffee urn was gone. I would not recommend going to Panera Bread to anyone. I gave it 2 stars because it was clean and I enjoyed my lunch companion. I could have gone to another restaurant close by and for $9.99 had a real bowl of French Onion soup and a salad, cheeseburger or chicken sandwich. I would have been seated by a hostess, had water brought to the table and bread and butter while we waited to be served. I will stick with the places that give service and have employees that recognize me when I go back. read more
