The entire inside was shut down for a catering event offsite. Only about 25% was being used and the employees using this area for breaks. I absolutely love Panera bread however this Panera bread location was a disappointment in the service area. The line was very long and had one cashier. It was very obvious that there should have been another cashier. When I finally was able to order, the cashier was nice and apologized for the wait (so she knew it was a wait). Waited at least 15 mins. I was finally able to out in my order and I bought a drink cup to drink my favorite green tea, I head over to fill up my cup and it was completely empty. It's understandable because it's so tasteful so I asked one of the workers if they can fill it up. She told me that she had to take out the trash before filling it up and apologized and asked if I could be patient, I didn't mind waiting because I understand that she has duties to attend to... I thought it was just the one trash next to the drinks but then I see her going to another trash bin to take out! I realized that she was going to take out ALL the trash, and my food was already ready. I was just waiting on my $3 cup tea. And my friends food from the habit was already getting soggy due to waiting for me. Panera always sounds like a good idea. But once you experience it, you realize it was a terrible idea. Only one person taking orders on a Sunday evening. Only one self-serve kiosk up and running. I struggled to find a table that was clean. Didn't find one so sat at the one that appeared to be the cleanest. My server only brought out the food, didn't assist in much else. Panera Corporate... yes, crickets.. over a week and not a peep from them. This started as a corporate problem with the Panera website, and ended up not going well at the Tyler Panera location, either. Corporate's website has a glitch that means the restaurant can sell food ordered online and paid for in cash to others before the order is picked up curbside. And the manager at the location, although polite, had an "Oh Well, it's corporate's fault, not ours" attitude towards my family's 90 minutes of lost time and $3-4 of gas completely wasted. No solutions. No bagels. Just, oops! My daughter wanted bagels, and since the common ones were sold out of the Panera right near us, we found plain and cinnamon available at Tyler to make a 6 pack of the bagels she wanted, but it was a bit of a drive. So, we ordered them, and I paid cash with my bank account through Paypal. We gave them our exact ETA to cover the extra distance. We actually arrived early, only to find that they had sold the bagels we ordered, and could no longer create a six pack of the kind of bagels she eats, even changing around desirable flavors (sorry, jalapeno is for salsa, not bagels). The cashier was polite, and even understood it was not right. The problem was that the app puts the order up 10 minutes before the customer arrives. That's almost fine for hot dishes (as long as they still have the ingredients). For the bakery, it doesn't work at all, and I can't be the only person affected. When we order, those bakery items should be set aside at that time. Period. We paid for them at that time. (And not that it matters, customer-satisfaction-wise, but this was not a credit card where it just verifies and ties up the money. They got paid cash from a bank account.) When she asked the manager, the manager told her to sell us 4 plain bagels for the price of 6, which didn't include the cinnamon we ordered. Period. We {finally} got the manager on the line. She didn't seem to understand that regardless of corporate's problem, HER CUSTOMER paid cash for an order. She just wanted us to leave without bagels, and we would get our refund in 2-3 days... maybe. After 10 minutes of excuses and no solutions, I asked her to please sell me a single bagel, and I would hand the cash out the window. We were in a very hot car, as she must have realized. It never even occurred to her to sell us a bagel that wasn't 4 for the cost of 6 !! She gave us a bagel and we left. When I logged back in, I noticed the order was completely removed from their system (as opposed to marked cancelled), so maybe that is why corporate doesn't answer. I only have the Paypal transaction now. They have a flaw in their website ordering design, but don't respond. read more

Choose another spot!! This is the worst Panera I've been to. I ordered a bowl of soup that was brought in a cup half filled. I told the server that my order was a bowl and she said "That's what they're putting soup in now". Truth is they were out of bowls and weren't cleaning them.... Sadly the server didn't even bother to take the cup and fill it. The place had dirty tables everywhere. Ice tea was out for our entire time there, even after mentioning this to an employee. The absolute most difficult thing about this visit was visiting the restroom and finding a woman there washing her hair in the sink. She had on plastic gloves and was literally shampooing her hair in the only bathroom sink available. I told the manager who was very busy chatting it up with the front cashier girls. Bottom line the manager at this location needs to be demoted or replaced. There is no excuse for not having clean tables, stocked beverages and Clean bowls available on a late Saturday afternoon. If your looking for a place for lunch, go to the Chipotle next door, this Panera is disgusting and needs a customer service rehaul from the Manager down. read more

Went here for lunch on a Sunday 11:00 am. I was surprised that it wasn't crowded as I expected. There were 3 of us that went here. I tried using their kiosk for the very first time and what I convenience! It asked me if I had a Panera card and I had to do was put in my phone number. I ordered the pick 2: turkey avocado sandwich (half) and bowl of chicken and wild rice soup for $11 after tax. I really liked the soup and it was the first time I've had it. After I placed my order, the kiosk had me assign a pager so someone could bring my order to the table. Only disappointment with the kiosk experience was it didn't print a receipt. Hopefully they update that. I just had to check online under my Panera account to make sure that I got charged correctly. Service was good and the restaurant was clean and new! The manager jasmin was very rude. I ordered a mobile order at 8:23 and I got it at 9. 9!!! I'm not even exaggerating. I saw my name on the screen and then I got an email saying it was ready. I was waiting until I got it, and when it didn't come up I went to ask the lady. She said there was a 15min wait and it will be out shortly. I waited over 30min for my order. She asked the manager (she was behind the counter making the orders) when she rudely remarked "it will be up when it's ready." I waited more and then she THREW it up. Ate a couple bites and noticed it tasted a little funny so cut into the chicken and it was completely raw! So unlike the Panera at the Riverside Plaza, which is fantastic, this location never ceases to disappoint. Even in a pre Covid environment this location has always been glacial in speed. Cannot count the number of times we've had to ask what happened to our order. Usually the interior is messy too. Dirty tables, drink station always a mess. I don't understand how this location so bad and others in the area are really good! Management at this location must not care nor wall around the restaurant. No wonder this place only has 2.5 stars. They forgot an item in my online order. I didn't realize till after I got home but my fault for trusting them when I picked up my order. They even have a list of my order with a physical person checking each item off with their initials. On top of that their Paypal option online has never worked. It never brings you back to where you left off on the Panera checkout page. You always have to start your order from the beginning then end up having to use a credit card. Lame! Disappointed with my order. Stopped in placed my order. When my order was ready, I was called and handed my order by a professional team server. I ordered 1- You Pick 2: chipotle sandwich, extra chicken, no cheese but with everything else, and chicken soup including an apple and drink. When I realized my order was not correct I was 11 miles from the Tyler location. I thought of calling to inform the location of my order but notice the receipt on the bag didn't have there location phone number. First, when I unwrapped the sandwich I was surprised the sandwich serving was much smaller than last time. Literally the serving was 1/4 of the sandwich. Second, there was no cilantro and no extra chicken in the sandwich which I paid for. I will say, thank you for not adding the cheese as I requested. Just don't understand why they didn't notice what was missing. It was not busy at that time...so not sure what happen on there end. Lastly, the soup was ok. There was more broth than chicken noodle. A bit more noodle would of been fair. Don't know if they have a system for portion size/serving. If they do, it's obvious it's not being followed. The inconsistency is noticeable. I absolutely don't mind paying for good service/food etc. but when inconsistency is noticable, I don't see how that could be fair for the consumer. Very very pricey for the portion serve. You can't ever go wrong with the half and half, plus this location offers a large variety of lemonades.It honestly can't get any better for me.
