5304 Washington Ave, Racine, WI I've never had this level of customer service during previous visits at the previous location. Ordered 6 bagels/cream cheese and a breakfast sandwich. After 30 minutes I inquired about the wait and said if it wasnt ready to please refund me, I no longer wanted it. The employee hunted down my order which had been ready for quite sometime, right on the table behind her. She bagged it, handed it over without a word.... at least "I'm sorry for your wait" or some acknowledgement would have been appreciated and cooled me off a little. I'd also like to comment on the unkempt appearance of some staff. They have a see through area into the kitchen where you see items being prepared. Some staff had long dangling hair from under their baseball caps, one staff had their t-shirt riding way up their back, underwear showing, pants sliding down, makes for a very unappealing sight in a restaurant. I'd like to add it was not busy during this visit. Had it been, I would have had been more understanding in this review regarding the wait, but seriously, staff need to coaches or trained on appearance. Stop changing your menu! There's enough change in the world right now for me to wake up on a Sunday morning and head in for a steak, egg, and cheese bagel... only to find out it's all gone. So then, I ask if lunch is available (because at least that menu isn't all pork options.) They say sure! Great! Can I see a menu? I hate to say this but the new location is terrible. Building itself is a box with terrible parking, the inside is like a cafeteria, no baked items on display, very fee bagels to choose from, service is SUPER slow (15 minutes for a bagel), cashiers are rude, tables are filthy, feet stuck to the floor like glue. It's nice when you can rely on good food, and this place always hold true to that. It's especially nice when you are graced with lovely customer service and on my last visit the cashier, Ashley, (who is also the GM?) provided just that; she was extremely knowledgeable on all my vegan questions and just so kind to me! I waited about 15 minutes before someone came out to my car, and yet they still had no bagels in hand. One of the best cafes I've been to in a really long time! The have an amazing pastry/bread selection in addition to regular food. Their "Pick Two" option is great! By far, the best chicken noodle soup and chicken sandwich I have ever had! While their pricing is a bit more expensive than your average fast food restaurant, the food is far better for you and well worth the price. This particular location draws a very large lunch crowd so plan on arriving early to get a good seat. Otherwise, get your order to go. I can't wait to try the cafe in my area! read more

Food is pretty good for a chain restaurant. The problems revolve around the customer service. Last weekend my wife order through the rapid pick up system and kept getting an error message, when she called she got a tremendously rude person who questioned her abilities to use the rapid pick up system. When I went to pick up I wanted some additional items and the staff was put off. I checked my order and it was wrong so I asked them to provide me the two soufflé's. The worker actually questioned if I was wrong and then asked me what I wanted done? Ummm make the order right. Today again my wife ordered ahead and was given a time. I went to pick it up and there was a longer wait. Connie who was the same rather rude person last week was waiting to help me again. The next customer in line asked for one of the items I was trying to pick up and Connie points at me and says "he bought them all, it'll be a half hour." Uncomfortable is the way I felt. Why does a chain run out when you are ordering 6-7 soufflés and Connie always have such a poor attitude and customer service skills. Done I'll stick to other local places for breakfast. read more

soup is tasty, but lukewarm. I like HOT soup. also when you eat outside watch out for the crappy tippy tables. My mom spilled soup on her dress because the table was so wabbly. We ordered 2 pick two meals. One, the salad only filled up about 1/3 of the container and there was soggy brown lettuce in it. For the other meal, they forgot the sandwich all together. I have tried calling to place an order and the phone just rings and rings. Then I try calling later and the phone just hangs up after I push the options I want. My orders have often been messed up, too. The food is just so-so...and the amount of things you get for instance on your salad is always less and less (chicken, etc.) Don't know how they stay in business. read more

My review reflects the horrible customer service I received from an employee. I'm in town and was thrilled there is a Panera. I've been a loyal client since 2000. I ordered my meal and the person who took my order was amazing. When I picked up my order at the counter, I noticed it was packaged to go. I let the person I wanted to dine in and he said it's too late. I couldn't believe this person told me I couldn't dine in. We were at a table, it wasn't busy but he wasn't going to unpack my food. I then asked for butter and he rudely stated its in the bag. Well it wasn't and I was livid. I didn't have any butter because I knew if I went up to grab some, he would have probably said I couldn't get any. I still have 4 more days here and I will not dine there while in town. It's very disappointing as I have always been a loyal customer but while here I'll have to dine at a competitor. The guys name is Measy (Not sure I'm spelling it correctly). They have good food but when you order carry out or delivery the food portion is so much smaller than what you would get if you ate there but for the same price. Went to this Panera 4 days in a row while on business in the area. Each time I loaded up with breakfast, lunch for later, and snacks. I love that Panera is super reliable in what you're going to get, very nutritious for fast food, and tastes good; this one was no different. I did a mix of ordering in line, using the kiosk, and doing rapid pick up. All worked great, no complaints at all. read more

It will be a long time before I go back. The lady who took my order was rude, I have not been there for a long time, I did not know all the new way of ordering and pick up went. After the lady took my order she pushed the tip jar in front of me and then walked away. I asked her about my bagel, she pointed down the way and said pick it up there. So I waited for my order and the bagel came up it didn't take to long but my hot tea was not there so I asked a different worker where do I get my tea? She went back and got me a paper cup and said the tea was over at the coffee bar. The coffee bar was a mess and needed to be cleaned up and restocked. I purchase lunches from Panera Racine for customer meetings. Today I used the rapid pickup for the first time. I put a note on the order to mark each bag with what was in each individual bag, this way I don't need to pick through each bag to see what's in them. I ordered 10 lunches and when I got back to the office I only had 9 lunches. When picking up I did not have time to look through the bag of multiple lunches. When I picked up my salad all I got was a "sorry". The food is good and fresh but they need to slow down and take their time when making these rapids pick up orders as my was not a rapid pickup because I had to drive back to the place and get the missing salad. read more

I took someone to Panera breads their first time there. the place was disgusting the floor was dirty almost every table was dirty employees were rude. when I brought to their attention that the floor was disgusting it took 5 minutes for someone to come out to do anything about it and when they did they did a very poor job didn't clean the tables even and the employee had an attitude about doing it like it wasn't her job. they forgot my soup with the pick 2 deal and didn't even know my order they served it with a dirty soup spoon and I didn't receive an apology even I personally wont waste my money at this establishment again. who wants to pay for food to eat in a dirty restaurant. the flat bread sandwich my guest ordered had sauce only at the end it was a very dry sandwich because of that. We live in Kenosha and have one close to but we drive to this one because we've only had problems with the other one. The staff here is always friendly. The service is getting worse along with the quality. Two weeks ago we purchased a loaf of sour dough and it was riddled with large holes. This week they couldn't get an order for a full baguette right. We usually order rapid pick up and ordered a baguette along with two loaves of bread and bagels. So instead of giving us a baguette, they gave us a side order of baguette. But still charged us for a whole baguette. A side order? They claim they can't tell if the order is for a side or a whole baguette. Hmm, considering no meal was ordered, why would you think it's a side? We haven't had an issue in the past, so why now? And, if it is your software, as you claim, how about getting it fixed so you can tell? My husband discovered the mistake and called. They offered to deliver a baguette, but my husband said he'd pick it up. So he drives back and stands in line for 15 minutes because they can't be bothered to open another cash register long enough to take care of the huge line. The baguette? Flat in the middle. Pretty stupid to have rapid pick up if we have to rummage through the bag to make sure the items ordered are there and the products are of good quality. What did he get for his trouble? A free drink. Now mind you I go to this Panera very often and rarely have issues. But today was HORRIBLE! First of all, I did a rapid pick-up that gave me 5 minutes to pick up. Which was perfect! I got there in 7 minutes. So I waited and waited and waited. My name was on the screen but nothing. Several names that were behind me, got there stuff. Then a girl behind the pick up counter asked "what are you waiting on?" (as if I was interrupting her day) I told her my name and she walked off. Ok, so I waited some more and I get up several minutes later to ask how much longer. Another girl asked "whats the name" I then told HER my name and she kept doing what she was doing. I stood there for a few more minutes after not getting any further response from ANYONE. well 10 minutes AFTER i'm still waiting. I notice my drink is back by the prep table slowly melting away, apparently that was made immediately because by the time they gave me my food 20 minutes AFTER "rapid pick up" the ice was melted. So instead of a caramel latte I now have a water latte (yucky). Then to top it off, once I get back to work the sandwich was falling out of the wrapper because it wasn't wrapped properly and half of it was disheveled and there was lettuce just tossed on the side (I guess it was a bonus). P.S. To make all matters worse one of the girls belly was hanging from under her apron and she was not pregnant - her shirt should have been tucked in! read more

I have had the misfortune of buying from Panera bread in Racine multiple times and every time I pay for things and it's not in my bags. These are not small things either. Large quantities of family soups or full salads would be missing every time and today was no different. Needless to say I'm never trying them again. I'd rather drive to Kenosha.
