Very surprised and disappointed to see the dining area unclean on a Sunday that's not too busy

Lovely, lovely spot for a quick breakfast. Or lunch. But this morning it's spinach and artichoke soufflé with a chai tea latte! Yummy! Service is great, the guy behind the counter called me by my name and is super polite. I like that. I came in yesterday evening but they were pretty much sold out of everything, so today more than made up for that. At $10 for soufflé and latte, they're a little pricey but well worth it.

7/27/21: I placed an online order & picked it up curbside. I ordered 2 blueberry muffins (MY FAVE!!) & 2 orange cranberry muffins. I got a text alert telling me my order was ready, so I headed there. I parked in spot 1 & let them know I was outside waiting via the app. Alex (I believe his name was) came out with a small bag that clearly didn't have all my items. He told me that they ran out of the orange cranberry & could give me 2 items to replace them at no extra charge. I chose 1 more blueberry muffin & 1 cinnamon roll. He was very apologetic!!! I appreciated all of his help and I'd definitely go back.

This location is hit or miss for me. Sometimes when I go in person my order isn't always right, and if I go on Grubhub my order gets delivered to the wrong place. But I know that's not Panera's issue but I finally figured it out. I have to use DoorDash anytime I want delivery from Panera to ensure my order is delivered to the correct place. Today I'm so glad it was correct. I was able to get the cheese flatbread pizza with no tomato sauce, because it causes heartburn. With the half salad Apple chicken pecan salad. It was very good everything was fresh made very quickly and delivered on time. If you haven't tried the apple vinaigrette dressing you are missing happiness in your life. I suggest you go out and get it.

    Panera Charged Lemonades

I'd like to begin this review by saying that I am a huge fan of Panera as a whole. The sandwiches, salads, bagels, flatbread pizzas, and Ooh, just the baguette alone - De-lish!! But this particular day, Wednesday December 21st, 2022 around 12:30pm, my partner had ordered two large Charged Lemonades from his Panera App and asked me to pick them up. For those unfamiliar with App Orders, you walk into the store and near the registers, there is a bookcase-style shelving unit, where your order sits waiting for you to claim. There were the two drinks, and as soon as I grabbed the bottom of the drink holder to slide it from the shelf, they both came forward and spilled all over the floor and me. I stood there for a moment, looking stupid, waiting for someone to immediately come to my assistance. I overheard one of the men working there saying to someone else behind the counter that he was going to get the mop bucket. Still noone came to my assistance or offered to replace the drinks that had spilled. What bothered me the most was, as I stood there, a woman who was obviously the manager, walks from behind where the prep area is to out front by the girl at the register and said "Is anyone gonna clean that up?" The girl replied, "Such-and-such is goin to get the mop bucket". The manager never approached me, never apologized for that happening to me, and never offered any help to me personally, as a guest at her store. A crew follows what training and leadership that is given to them. Bad habits begin from the top down. I shared my experience with my partner later, who admitted that the same thing happened to him the first time he got drinks in the carry tray, and as a regular there, a crew member there shared with him, 'Yeah, it (drink spills) happens all the time." Maybe change the cup design or get a carrier with sides and a handle like those used at Chick-fil-A? And how about some better customer service? This was a very bad guest experience which coulda been turned around had the management handled the situation in a proactive manner. Totally disappointed!

My fiancé and I have been craving Panera bread for last couple weeks. PiWent there and got 2 pick 2s and a margarita flatbread. The food was done half correct. Salads were tasty. Sandwiches were missing or lacking some food items that were suppose to be on the sandwich. The flatbread was over cooked and missing basil. How do you miss the basil.? I had to return the next day to let the manager know what happened so he could possibly fix it. Chris the manager helped me out and asked me if they could fix the food. He pulled up my ticket and receipt from the day before and fixed what was wrong. The chicken avocado melt is killer, and the cherry tomatoes mixed with the basil and crispy flatbread is amazing. Chris really helped us out and turned it around.

Me and my office order from this location regularly- usually 12+ orders. Food is always delicious and bagged nicely for transport back to the office. Their ingredients always taste fresh too- my avocado in my Baja Bowl was perfectly ripe.

Oh Panera. I always try to give these folks the benefit of the doubt because broccoli and cheddar soup lol but alas they always find a way to disappoint. This was supposed to be a bacon egg and cheese with extra cheese minus the bun. They somehow ruined this poor bacon's life and thought melting the cheese to the BOTTOM of the container was an excellent idea. I swear I'd never eat here again if they get rid of that darn soup smh. Do better Panera.

I was taken care of by the chef and she was very helpful with the menu. They have so many appetizing options on their mostly healthy, all fresh menu. I love soup, so I love that they offer several each day, with some standards, plus a soup of the day, which on the day I visited was cream of potato. Where I sat at the counter, I could watch them making all the food and I was impressed to see that they don't just ladle soup into a bowl to serve it, they actually cook and prepare, then dress it to plate it perfectly. Their cream of potato was really good and not the traditionally made where the potato is pureed into the soup - rather they make a creamy soup base and then add potatoes to it. The combo of the soup, a small piece of potato, scallion, and a small piece of bacon really made for a great spoonful in each spoonful I enjoyed!! My coworker got their Asian Chicken Noodle and that looked amazing! He said it was incredible. Next up was the entrée and we both got their lamb gyro.... It's not the traditional gyro, it's an openfaced style, just like their chicken salad toast. It was really good! The tzatziki was great on it! And we also got a side of their cucumber feta salad... this tasted fresh and the feta was vibrant, with the combo of the cucumber and feta together being incredibly tasty. Overall, another very nice visit to a Stockpot restaurant... Looks like I need to try their Chesapeake location to get the trifecta of Stockpot! Highly recommend stopping in!

I ended up ordering the southwestern skillet with a lamb burger, and honestly, it was one of those meals you don't forget. The flavors were just... dialed in. Everything tasted intentional--perfectly seasoned, balanced, and comforting without being heavy. And the lamb? That slight gaminess added just the right amount of depth and richness to the dish. It didn't overpower anything--it completed it. What really stood out to me, though, was how effortless the whole experience felt. The staff were genuinely friendly--not in a scripted way, but the kind that makes you feel welcome right away. And the service was quick, which I appreciated since I was trying to make the most of a short trip. There's something about this place that feels like a local gem you almost don't want to share--but at the same time, you know people need to know about it. If I had more time in Norfolk, I would've gone back without hesitation. It's the kind of spot that makes you wish your trip was just a little bit longer.

This local favorite has maintained a loyal following since opening its doors in 1987, and after one visit it's easy to understand why. Having grown up in Norfolk, I still make the trip over from Chesapeake from time to time because some places are simply worth returning to. Our favorite bartender Lauren is always friendly, attentive, and helpful with menu suggestions if you're undecided. She also happens to make a fantastic drink, which certainly never hurts. My wife ordered the Sesame Shrimp Salad consisting of fried butterflied shrimp, organic mixed greens, fresh vegetables, mandarin oranges, crispy wontons, and their house Red Dragon dressing. The presentation alone was impressive, but the flavor balance is what truly stood out. In fact, she enjoyed it so much that I never even managed to get a taste myself, which is saying something. I decided on the Shrimp Platter and the portion size alone was enough to get my attention. The shrimp were fried to a perfect golden brown, served piping hot, and properly seasoned throughout. The crinkle-cut fries delivered that ideal contrast of crispy exterior and soft potato center, while the coleslaw brought a refreshing balance of sweetness and acidity that tied the entire plate together beautifully. No Frill continues to prove that you do not need unnecessary gimmicks when the food, service, and consistency speak for themselves. If you enjoy well-prepared comfort food served by people who genuinely care about the experience, this Norfolk institution remains well worth the visit.
