    Garden Avo

Just wow. The food was inedible. I ordered the avocado toast and it was absolutely disgusting. The tomatoes had no flavor at all and the avocados had an incredibly rubbery texture and didn't even taste like real food. I also opened the box and this is how it was prepared. Good grief.

Nice place and nice people. I didn't use the bathroom but it appeared clean. Absurdly overpriced. A 5 oz half sandwich for over $8. The soup was good, but again, absurdly overpriced. I could commiserate that the destruction of fast food is because of the rise in the minimum wage, but for $7.50 I can buy a double burger at Five Guys or Nancy's both with three times the lettuce, onions, and tomatoes--not to mention protein. For another buck I can get a Garg which is the king of all sandwiches. Still, it's a great environment for meeting and having conversations, so that might be what is included in the price. I probably shouldn't harp on price, but I guess that's my review of the place. Nice and overpriced for Salem.

    Plastic in my sandwich.

I know firsthand how challenging it can be for small business owners--especially immigrant-owned businesses. That said, there were several shortcomings that affected our experience. The issues started when ordering. There were two vegetarians in our group, and while many of the ramen dishes listed an option to add vegetables, I wanted to confirm whether the broth itself was vegetarian. Unfortunately, our server repeatedly said she didn't know and didn't offer to check with the kitchen. One ramen listed a miso broth, which is typically vegetarian, but when I asked about that specifically, I received the same response. To be safe, we ordered the clearly labeled vegetarian ramen, while my husband ordered the miso ramen. His dish arrived almost immediately, while the rest of us waited at least 15 minutes longer. When his ramen was delivered, there was no explanation or indication that ours was coming shortly. He tried to eat slowly so we could eat together, but he was nearly finished by the time our bowls arrived. One other small but noticeable issue: it was around Christmas, and the holiday music playlist was extremely limited. We heard the same songs rotate four times, which became a bit distracting. My advice would be to invest more in server training, especially around menu knowledge, and perhaps update the music playlist. With some improvements in service and attention to detail, this place could be much better.

No option to leave a message to have them call you back either. Kind of dissappointing as Salem late night options are pretty slim...I think tonight was the last night that I'm going to try to contact these people. I'm not sure if they're even still in business.? **update** I got a call back from the number listed and I asked to order food- the guy says 'no, not tonight' and basically hung up on me- funny, your listed hours say you're open 24/7. Abrupt and rude. Lost a good potential customer....3stars because I hadn't had any interaction with this place, now it's one star for terrible customer service....

A Cubano traditionally is pork loin cooked into submission, ham Swiss cheese mustard and pickle grilled on a plancha. I dont do pickles so I ordered mine without. What i got was a grilled cheese with pulled pork bacon and smothered in pickles and onions. This was not even close to a Cubano and should not have been billed as one! I would also like to point out that those were pickled cucumber slices not actual pickles. Since I was at a function and the line for the food truck was exceptionally long. I just brought the sandwich home. I will also say the Mac and cheese was not terrible although I would rethink the pasta that is being used. It was large a overcooked. So with all that said there was some good flavor. The wait was too long for a bad sandwich made wrong. I would not purposely look for this truck .

Everything is immaculate and very nicely decorated. Once we were seated we were provided with an extensive menu of dining options. Everything on the menu looked incredible! I had difficulty choosing one thing, so I chose TWO! I chose the Banh Mi sandwich and the Wonton Noodle Soup. I love the type of rolls the sandwich was served on. The outside is crisp and flaky while the inside is soft and chewy. I asked for chicken as the meat choice. I enjoy how the carrots and cucumbers are sliced in a square straw. I think that provides a nice texture in every bite. The wonton noodle soup was delicious. I've never had soft wontons before. They've always been crispy nibbles on a side plate. I like that in this dish they were part of the soup. I was a little disappointed in the vermicelli noodles though. They were nicely done and very tasty, but there were so many that they clumped together and were difficult to get a bite of without getting a whole mouthful. Also of note were the drinks. I chose the pineapple tea and it was MARVELOUS! All in all, lunch was an amazing experience and I will always remember that meal with my stepmom.

Both the older restaurant "Pho Keizer" (just South of here on River Road) have the same owners, their offerings and quality are similar. My wife loves their soup bases. Since she is quite sensitive to hot spices, we are careful to order the lowest level of chiles offered in dishes we order. I, then, increase the heat level by using the chiles available at the table. In that way we are able to share different dishes served "family style." My own favorite dishes are the egg rolls (Chả Giò) and the vermicceli salad (with grilled pork and egg roll). We also dislike the fresh coriander so ask them not to use it in dishes we order.

The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean. The outside of the building is a bit run down and iffy looking, but who cares? Just go inside, and forget about the outside needing a paint job.
