The tofu salad rolls. The order comes with four, I ate one before I remembered to take a picture.

Stopped by around 11am on a weekday. Atmosphere was relaxed and service was brisk, with lots of people coming in and out of the kitchen, both to deliver dishes and get takeout orders ready. I am a huge Bánh mì (Vietnamese baguette sandwich) fan, and plenty of reviews said this place had the best in Salem. I ordered the tofu salad rolls and the Bánh mi with grilled pork. I also ordered a Thai tea. The Thai tea was sweet and creamy, and quite good. The spring rolls had good flavor, but the wrappers were so chewy that it made them a little difficult to eat. The herby freshness I associate with Vietnamese spring rolls was present, but was a bit muted compared to other rolls I have had. The peanut sauce was good. The Bánh mi was a solid sandwich. The bread crust was shatteringly crisp, and the grilled pork was delicious, and its flavors dominated the sandwich. The pickled vegetables didn't seem that pickled, so their taste faded a bit in the background. The jalapeno slices provided a nice heat that came on gradually. This is probably the best bánh mi I've had in Salem since the Saigon Restaurant closed. I honestly would go back for the Thai tea alone! But the food was good, affordable, and the service friendly. I can't speak to their pho, and it might be what they are most known for; it's in their name, after all! A solid place and one I am glad to have tried!

Came for lunch on a tight schedule, told them so and they accommodated us super fast! So friendly and efficient, we were eating within 10min of walking through door. we got drinks for treats too.

Went during lunch time and right when we walked in, we were greeted and were seated right away. The restaurant had a few customers and it was a small restaurant but felt right at home. We ordered pho - P1 and P6. We both tried the broth and it was pretty decent, but still added our normal sriracha and hoisin and lime. Enough noodles and meat to fill our bellies. When we visit again, we will be back. (Also, looks like they will be opening a Pho Keizer in the Safeway plaza up the street , excited for the bigger space!)

    Chicken fried rice

First time ever trying pho, first time ever coming to this restaurant and I have to say, they have a new repeat customer! We ordered the chicken pho, the meatball pho (not pictured) , chicken fried rice and pot stickers. I personally ate the chicken pho and it was delicious! The soup/broth had so much flavor The small size bowl fills you up easy, the large is big enough to feed two people. Restaurant has a clean appearance. Food came out within 15 minutes. Staff was friendly. If I had to nit-pick something, I'd say that we asked for to go containers and waited 5-8 minutes and the waiter never came back around. We had to ask at the register for them and found the waiter at the bar texting.

Good food, nice ambiance. The beef vermicelli is really good. Great spring rolls too.

The pho: oh wow this is some delicious pho. Lots of beef, plenty of the fresh veg you jam into the broth, and the broth is already aromatic and flavorful. Loved the service. If I had to guess I'd say it was the owner, his attention to detail and relaxed manner was really nice and he was personable. It's a pho house, lots of kitchen. A giant aquarium with its big fish, tables and sauce. All the perfect environment for a delicious experience.

Unlike most places that make the dish look like a lot by packing it on a small plate, this one had a massive plate and piled it high. Even the kid's meal was the size of an adult portion! My pad Thai was supposed to be a level 4 spice, but it wasn't spicy at all, and it was a bit on the sweeter side -- not overwhelming, but sweeter than I expected. I also tried the house special fried rice, which was gigantic but sadly lacked flavor. I really didn't enjoy it. The chicken tenders were crispy but a little dry. However, the flourless chocolate cake was amazing! I'd never had it before, but it was so rich and delicious. Highly recommend that dessert! I'm giving 4 stars mainly because of the huge portion sizes. The food overall would probably be closer to 3 stars for me, but the portions definitely stood out. As for the ambiance, it wasn't the prettiest place, definitely an old-school vibe, but it was huge and clean, so no complaints there. Service was just your standard, nothing extraordinary.

A noticeable decline at Marco Polo Global Restaurant…read more It is with genuine disappointment that I share how significantly Marco Polo Global Restaurant has changed--and not for the better. Having been a loyal patron for years, I was unaware that the restaurant had undergone an ownership change approximately one year ago. Unfortunately, the shift in management has been accompanied by a marked decline in both service and food quality. Service Concerns Table service fell well below expectations. Our server did not introduce herself, nor did she demonstrate any gestures of hospitality throughout the meal. Twice, plates were handed to us stacked, leaving the guests to distribute them ourselves--an approach inconsistent with professional table service. Water glasses were never refilled, and there was a general lack of attentiveness to our table. Menu Changes The menu has been reduced to a simple two‑sided laminated sheet, a stark departure from the former Marco Polo menu that once offered an impressive variety of thoughtfully curated dishes. Food Quality The food, regrettably, did not meet even basic standards: Singapore Noodles: The most disappointing dish of the evening. I shared my feedback with the server, who later reported that the cook had not seasoned it properly and offered to remake it. We declined. Salad Rolls: Flavorless, with a peanut sauce that was thin, cold, and lacking depth. Broccoli with Tofu: The broccoli was overcooked, wilted, and visually unappealing. The dish was marginal at best. Green Beans with Garlic: Cooked adequately, but lacking seasoning and overall flavor. Vegan Pot-stickers: The one bright spot--excellent texture, well‑prepared, and accompanied by a flavorful sauce. Overall Atmosphere The ambiance felt tired, and the restaurant appears to have lost the vitality and care that once made it a thriving local favorite. Based on our experience, it seems clear that both the kitchen and front‑of‑house staff would benefit from renewed training and leadership. Our server confirmed that the business changed hands about a year ago, and unfortunately, the decline is evident in nearly every aspect of the dining experience. We will not be returning, and it saddens me to say so--Marco Polo was once a beloved establishment in the community.
