I went to lunch with my stepmom to Pho Keizer and had a very lovely lunch. The restaurant is in a new location in a meticulously renovated Sherri's restaurant building. Everything is immaculate and very nicely decorated. Once we were seated we were provided with an extensive menu of dining options. Everything on the menu looked incredible! I had difficulty choosing one thing, so I chose TWO! I chose the Banh Mi sandwich and the Wonton Noodle Soup. I love the type of rolls the sandwich was served on. The outside is crisp and flaky while the inside is soft and chewy. I asked for chicken as the meat choice. I enjoy how the carrots and cucumbers are sliced in a square straw. I think that provides a nice texture in every bite. The wonton noodle soup was delicious. I've never had soft wontons before. They've always been crispy nibbles on a side plate. I like that in this dish they were part of the soup. I was a little disappointed in the vermicelli noodles though. They were nicely done and very tasty, but there were so many that they clumped together and were difficult to get a bite of without getting a whole mouthful. Also of note were the drinks. I chose the pineapple tea and it was MARVELOUS! All in all, lunch was an amazing experience and I will always remember that meal with my stepmom. read more

When we want to eat pho, this is where we go since it recent;y opened in what used to be the Spires restaurant on Portland Road. Both the older restaurant "Pho Keizer" (just South of here on River Road) have the same owners, their offerings and quality are similar. My wife loves their soup bases. Since she is quite sensitive to hot spices, we are careful to order the lowest level of chiles offered in dishes we order. I, then, increase the heat level by using the chiles available at the table. In that way we are able to share different dishes served "family style." My own favorite dishes are the egg rolls (Chả Giò) and the vermicceli salad (with grilled pork and egg roll). We also dislike the fresh coriander so ask them not to use it in dishes we order. read more

I'm from SoCal hailing from Westminster,Ca home of the biggest Vietnamese population on the West coast.My standards are pretty high and I know authentic by just walking into a viet restaurant . In my opinion if you want to eat a gallon of sugar that's what you will Get in the pho, the smell of the anise is faint . I'm also comparing to top places in Garden grove and Westminster area catering to Asian palates. The thit nuong had no char and was very sweet maybe they cater to different palates here though , not sure what people are use to here but just basing on flavors it wasn't for me ‍. Stopped by around 11am on a weekday. Atmosphere was relaxed and service was brisk, with lots of people coming in and out of the kitchen, both to deliver dishes and get takeout orders ready. I am a huge Bánh mì (Vietnamese baguette sandwich) fan, and plenty of reviews said this place had the best in Salem. I ordered the tofu salad rolls and the Bánh mi with grilled pork. I also ordered a Thai tea. The Thai tea was sweet and creamy, and quite good. The spring rolls had good flavor, but the wrappers were so chewy that it made them a little difficult to eat. The herby freshness I associate with Vietnamese spring rolls was present, but was a bit muted compared to other rolls I have had. The peanut sauce was good. The Bánh mi was a solid sandwich. The bread crust was shatteringly crisp, and the grilled pork was delicious, and its flavors dominated the sandwich. The pickled vegetables didn't seem that pickled, so their taste faded a bit in the background. The jalapeno slices provided a nice heat that came on gradually. This is probably the best bánh mi I've had in Salem since the Saigon Restaurant closed. I honestly would go back for the Thai tea alone! But the food was good, affordable, and the service friendly. Went during lunch time and right when we walked in, we were greeted and were seated right away. The restaurant had a few customers and it was a small restaurant but felt right at home. We ordered pho - P1 and P6. We both tried the broth and it was pretty decent, but still added our normal sriracha and hoisin and lime. Enough noodles and meat to fill our bellies. First time ever trying pho, first time ever coming to this restaurant and I have to say, they have a new repeat customer! We ordered the chicken pho, the meatball pho (not pictured) , chicken fried rice and pot stickers. I personally ate the chicken pho and it was delicious! The soup/broth had so much flavor The small size bowl fills you up easy, the large is big enough to feed two people. Restaurant has a clean appearance. Food came out within 15 minutes. Staff was friendly. If I had to nit-pick something, I'd say that we asked for to go containers and waited 5-8 minutes and the waiter never came back around. We have been here twice, a year apart, on vacation to Oregon. I have tried many pho places across the country, and this has been one of the best I have ever tried. While the wait might be around 20 minutes, the pho and rice dishes are well portioned and delicious! The broth is very good, and so is the meat in the C1. read more

The pho: oh wow this is some delicious pho. Lots of beef, plenty of the fresh veg you jam into the broth, and the broth is already aromatic and flavorful. Loved the service. I am always on the hunt for a great Pho place. This one happens to be close to a place that my wife goes to for a salon so its a great opportunity for me to get my Pho on. The parking lot is large and has a lot of space to park. Once you go inside you are confronted with actual a very large restaurant. With plenty of places to sit from the front window to a more secluded less in and out table in the back, there is a place for you here. I ordered my go to, which is a potsticker app and the meatball/brisket pho in the large size. When you sit at the table you have all of your needs for your Pho adventure. I like the fact the server immediately brought me a glass of water, but they do also have all the standard staples of Thai ice teas etc. All of your sauces, and pastes needed to make a delicious meal are here, and for me a real plus is they also have fish sauce at the table. Your not having to ask for everything, they have it all here for you. The app came out fast and screaming hot. I like the presentation and preparation of these as they are deep fried. It gave a very nice crunch, while still being tender and delicious on the inside. The dipping sauce is a fantastic option as well, and a little hint, it goes very well into your Pho if you have some left over. Finally, the main course, the Pho comes to the table. What you get is a giant steaming bowl of deliciousness. With your meat on the top, along with some onion and cilantro on top of your noodle ball that you get to break up and mix together. Out comes the plate that also has your bean sprouts and basil. For me, I always add all of the bean sprouts as it gives a fantastic texture and I love basil, so I break it up and it all goes in. Then I give a squeeze of lime, for that acidic touch. In goes my sauces and away we go. Now for those new to Pho, try it first without adding anything to it in terms of sauces. Here you will have a hearty and rich beef broth that you can tell has been steeping for hours and hours. You just don't get flavor like that without spending some time to get it right. I called to ask if the use MSG and they do. I asked if you could order without MSG and they said no. Someone on the reviews complained of their stomach hurting after eating here and it may have been due to the msg. They should post on their menu that they use MSG. This place is amazing, it has the meal that I use to get in Portland I think 2-3 times a week for years and never get tired of it. I hadn't been able to find it in Salem, and I don't know why I never looked in Keizer until I did. The quality was amazing, the food tasted amazing, the people are friendly and efficient. I always get the orders to go because my husband isn't big into this food, but, highly recommend! Although it took us awhile to get our orders in, it's to be expected as this place is busy with what seems like returning patrons. We were seated at the back and waited for 20 plus minutes to get orders in. Once they realized they overlooked us they promptly got our orders in, but I made a mistake and said the wrong letter which was appetizers- but it was a pleasant surprise as they all were delicious especially the chicken wings! We've come here once before and it was good so we decided to come here again, but it was very disappointing. Vietnamese fried chicken was overly cooked so it was so dry and hard. Had no seasoning like every other Vietnamese fried chicken. My pho was by far the worst pho I've ever had. The soup had no flavor to it, I had to put so much sauce etc. Although the portion was a perfect size. My friend ordered vermicelli he said it was good, so giving two starts for it. My partner and I stopped by here while driving back to Seattle from California. We ended up staying the night in Newport, OR and left the hotel before noon. After eating seafood and American food the last few days, we had a huge craving for pho. After searching Yelp and Google for authentic pho that was on the way home, Pho Keizer popped up and it did not disappoint. The service is excellent and the manager / owner stopped by our table a few times to make conversation. We felt welcomed and the food was delicious. I got the pho combo and would highly recommend it. I love this place. I was happy to see its one of the only options on Doordash, even though its pretty far from where I am in Salem. The food is fresh and delicious. We always order at least 2 large portions and it lasts us multiple meals. The salad rolls are wonderful and the potstickers are delicious too. I do wish that they had steamed gyoza offered through doordash, but I couldnt find the option. We will order again and again from here. They are always prompt and the food is delicious. Since COVID-19 began, this was my very first experience dining in at a restaurant (after being peer-pressured by family). Although I was hesitant, it wasn't a bad experience at all! We ordered a Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio and Pho Tai. The pho broth was okay in flavor. The portions were good. The cha gio (egg rolls) had corn in them???? I was very surprised! It didn't taste bad, but it was not my preference. The grilled pork was very flavorful and juicy, but it needed more vermicelli. I ended up having more meat than noodle at the end! Overall not a bad experience! The staff were very friendly and kept their distance when taking our order and delivering our food. There is also hand sanitizer all over the restaurant, so you can constantly put some on your hands. My friends who are local to Salem LOVE this restaurant. I've been coming to Pho Keizer since 2019, and honestly, it's hands down the best pho restaurant in the Salem/Keizer area! The consistency and quality of the food are unmatched. We always order the A1. Summer Rolls to start -- fresh, light, and perfectly paired with the dipping sauce. For pho, the P4. Eye Round Steak is our go-to; the broth is rich and flavorful, and the meat is always tender and just right. When my boyfriend doesn't order pho, he orders the C5. Grilled Chicken with Rice, which is perfectly seasoned, grilled, and comes with a great side of rice. And don't forget the Tiger Boba for dessert! It's the perfect sweet treat to wrap up the meal. This was our second visit to Pho Keizer and it was even better than the first time! We've been having Vietnamese food withdrawals and came upon Pho Keizer. Ordered the "egg rolls" and were pleasantly surprised that they tasted just like the "spring rolls" we used to eat in Hawaii and the sauce was perfect!
