This review is only for this Panera Location! I truly do love Panera! This location is the closest one to my work so I visit them often for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately, in the many many many times I have visited this location I have only had a handful of perfect experiences! Often they will give a baguette when I have asked for chips or an apple instead. When ordering through the drive-thru, I cannot tell you how many times they have left out plastic silverware! Giving the wrong sandwich all together on a you pick 2 option! But today was the one that drove me to write a review for this location.... The avocado on my sandwich had huge brown spots! Not just one, three spots! I am kicking myself now for not taking a photo before I threw it away! I know this location is always busy at lunchtime but I think they need to slow down! I love Panera Bread. However, the location closest to me is just not as good as the other locations. I've been to the W. 86th street location several times and each time the service is just bad. Today I went for a asiago bacon,egg and cheese sandwich and it only had one piece of bacon on it!! I can't believe that they even served that to me. Panera is an expensive fast food restaurant but people prefer it because they have fresher ingredients and usually better customer service. They almost never fail to botch me and my family's orders. The staff are nice and I have never had any problem with customer service.

Ordered lunch on their mobile app for Rapid Pick up and my food was ready within the timeframe specified on the pick up shelf (since I already paid on the app) with silverware and napkins in the bag. Super convenient way to get food on the go and I've never had any issues with this location getting my order right any time I've used the app to order food to go. The restaurant is always clean even though it is often packed when I go inside. Parking can be a challenge when it's a lunch rush, but typically there is enough movement in and out to find a spot. read more

Stood in the lobby for 10 minutes waiting to order while an employee that was off duty tried to make her own order upside down from the customers side of the counter. People behind the counter didn't acknowledge there were customers waiting. 4 other people behind us. Not sure how the food will be. Hopefully the same as every other Panera. I use the Panera app to order pick up from this Panera location. In the roughly two years that I have been doing so, my order has been correct 96% (or more) of the time! Just one occasion peppadew peppers were left off and if you know how most places operate, this is minor and excusable. There was a stint where the store hours unexpectedly fluctuated between their customer service line, website, and when in the actual restaurant but seems like it's back to a consistent set of hours. Dining in is typically a pleasant experience - be mindful: it gets busy in the evenings during the academic school year as I see many tutors and study groups set up shop. For the second time in about a 2 week span this location does not have the black pepper focaccia bread needed for the chipotle chicken avocado melt. I could totally understand one isolated instance, but not two. As a matter of fact only breads available period at 6:15pm on a Saturday were sourdough and a tomato basil. I don't expect too much when I go out...I'm not expecting white glove service or everything to be brought out on a silver lined tray. I do expect service-with a smile, with s customer focused attitude and just to be nice. No smile. No focus. Half hearted being nice. When I informed them that there had been a simple mistake and my ok was forgotten they more or less told me to get it myself at the grab and go box. Which oddly enough our cashier who was the assistant trainer neglected to mention the system of the "get it yourself oj". Mediocre service at best... Very disappointed on my last order here. This location often struggles with order accuracy, and on this occasion they missed an entire baguette, silverware, and sauces. My wife and I were both sick, so we couldn't go back to the store to pick up the missing food. The employee that I spoke with on the phone did not apologize for the missing food. The food that we did get seemed underportioned as the side baguettes were like half the usual size. To their credit, the food was very fresh and tasty. But I will not be coming back to this location for a while. read more

I work customer service, so when I interact with HORRIBLE service, it really bums me out because I know how easy it is to just do your job. Not going to only give one star JUST because they fixed a massive problem I had no questions asked. Got in at 10:15 in time to get breakfast, and the cashier basically rolled her eyes that I wanted to order a breakfast sandwich. She also did not know how to apply a coupon that the person behind me attempted to give (but her name tag said manager??). We waited about 20 minutes to get our food, which they messed up my drink, my friends drink, didn't give my friend half of her order, and served me RAW EGG!!!! This is AFTER I requested the egg be hard fried because I know it's easy to undercook a sunny side up egg, which the cashier stated they don't take requests or substitutions. Found out AFTER their breakfast ended, so they refused to remake it. Called corporate later (which I wouldn't usually do, but this experience was so over the top), and they said I could get my meal replaced the following day. For the size of the place I expected a decent one. Yuck. Dirty toilets really gross and 1 sink that looked like it should be in a prison cell !! Old and icky ! This is the best u can do !! Considering two Apple salads were 9$ Each u are making a bundle there!! C'mon step it up and fix it up even the airports are nicer than that. Then she reappeared with two managers and one telling them he needed a break & leaving the other one to unlock the registers and did not offer to help his employees or co-manager. This panera has the ABSOLUTE Worst service of any Panera I have ever been to. My office is less than 2 miles away, I typically order rapid pick up or delivery. Every SINGLE time I get rapid pick up I get back to the office and something is wrong in my order. Example; I requested basil mayo instead of regular, they give me no mayo. Or They give me no croutons with my tomato soup, or not give me a spoon...it goes on and on...Every Single Time. Nothing I'm going to call and complain about, but seriously people, it's ridiculous. Also the delivery is ungodly slow. I get it it's lunch time there are lots of orders and that's fine. But don't tell me my order will be ready at 12:20pm then send a notification that it's out for delivery at 12:05pm if it's not going to actually get here until 12:45pm. I am ordering delivery because I am at work and I have a schedule and now I have about 5 minutes to eat my lunch before my meeting. So Frustrating. I've never had a good experience at this location. The last time I was in, the place was filthy at 7pm, there was no place to sit b/c there were no clean tables despite it being empty. The food was not that great and horribly overpriced for what it was. This is why I normally choose to eat local, because I feel like local places take pride in their food. Not a good experience. Passing through, headed to Chicago...grabbing breakfast. Sandwiches were meh....falling apart. Coffee was not what we asked so we went back in to get what we needed. Little did the 2 female employees know that I was still in the car right in front of them as they heckled my husband and daughter. Rolling their eyes and pointing at them as they brought the coffees back in to add more cream and sugar. As they turned and started pointing at our car they noticed me sitting in the front seat which was very uncomfortable. Definitely didn't make us feel very welcome. Came to his location for dinner at 5:30 on a Saturday. They had no bread and could make no sandwiches. Only items available were salads. We were told it was a supplier issue. Great quiet place to sip coffee and catch up with friends. The free wifi and bottomless coffee has kept me here for hours working on projects. This location is very small so during busy times be prepared to be squished into a tiny table and those around you will hear your entire conversation. read more
