What ever happened to greeting with a smile. Can't happen if I now have to be my own cashier. I'm not happy that I can't walk into Panera and see a happy smiling face. Panera has now turned into Walmart. You have to self checkout at Walmart too. The service with a smile. It's gone. I pay so much money for the products at Panera bread. And now. I have to do half the work for them. Next thing you know. I'll be cooking my own food. For the record. I ordered a bagel. And they didn't even slice it. That's because the machine wasn't user friendly. And I didn't know I had to check the Alice and toasted box. Now that's something Panera should be embarrassed about. If you are going to use a machine. At least have a prompt pop up that I need to make an additional choice. I'm ashamed of the way Panera is now going to treat their customers. I for one am very unhappy.

As always the salads are very delicious and filling. I ordered a fruit cup this time also. The fruit had some skin still on it and was not ripe yet. It was still hard.

Lunchtime was busy, but there were still plenty of tables to choose from. The line was long, but I ordered at the kiosks off to the left side of the registers and avoided the queue all together. The process was quick and self explanatory and was actually nicer, as you can see images of all the items as you review the menu. I ordered the Spicy Thai salad. I got the whole size and it was very large. Lots of chicken and just the right amount of vinaigrette dressing and peanut sauce on top. I personally didn't find the salad spicy, just well seasoned. I would order it again, but perhaps the half size and get something else along with it. The baguette I was served with it was soft and still warm. The restaurant overall could have used a walk through from a cleaning point of view. There was debris on the floor, tables, chairs - a staff member just needed to walk through and tidy things up from the lunch rush.

Panera coffee club stop in Ohio!!

We are Panera coffee club members. On a recent trip to the Independence area, we stopped by this Panera to use our coffee club privileges while out of town. We ordered on the app, and in addition to coffees I also ordered a sandwich for our daughter, and a bagel and cream cheese for myself. In my order, I marked for the bagel to be sliced and toasted, with double cream cheese. We ordered at 12:30pm on the app, yes during the busy lunch rush, but the app indicate the order wouldn't be ready until 1:10pm. A 40-minute wait for a fast-casual restaurant is excessive. We waited outside, where there are several tables, and luckily many in the shade since it was a very hot day. When my order was ready, my bagel was not toasted, nor was the cream cheese put on the bagel, nor was there double. :-( Our daughter's Mediterranean veggie sandwich was totally soggy, which made me think the sandwich was sitting behind the counter much longer than it needed to be. My husband's app order was just his iced coffee. I waited for his cup to come out to the pick-up area, and it never did. When I asked a busy staffer, she said to just grab a cup and make it myself. Making it myself was fine, but no indication that I was supposed to just grab a cup and help myself was not good customer service. Compared to our excellent Panera at home in Williamsville NY, this particular Panera was subpar. The wait time was excessive, my simple order was wrong and shortchanged me, and the process for coffee club members was unclear.

I took my father there on Sunday April 19th at 5pm. Before I get started with the negative, I would like the manager of this location to know that they are very lucky to have Maddy as an employee. Now for the bad: when we walked in, at least four tables were filthy. Three tables had their chairs up like they were getting ready to close and there were three dirty tables in the back. We sat at the only clean table. The employee named Katy should no longer be working there. I don't know how anybody gets paid to be that rude to people. She didn't smile she didn't say hello when I told her I didn't come there often she wasn't helpful. I only ordered two sandwiches and drinks. It was a low maintenance order and she literally made me feel bad for making her take the time to wait on me. It was a horrible customer experience. While I was there, some guy came in who had gone home and come back because he was given the wrong sandwich. I didn't hear her apologize once. I took a picture and it's posted on this website of the overflowing trash area. The picture that I posted doesn't include our trash. I had to put our trash on top of the pile of trash. The place was a mess. I will say there is potential in the employee name Maddy she was super excited about the company and how they keep things fresh. She was excited to talk about the company and seemed proud. To the management, this place needs one heck of a makeover in every sense of the word

The potato salad and cole slaw were both good. Better choice. The corn beef actually looked smaller than usual. It was good but I thought it had been larger in the past. Maybe not anymore. Service was good. Food came out on time. This is a good place to go. Prices are a bit high but it's a deli. You can do what we did and split the sandwich. It enough food. Bar is nice. The patio is nice too. It's a good space and they even have a party room if you want to rent it out. Slymans is an institution. We will be back at some point again.

I can see why no one else was in the restaurant when we were even though it was dinner time on a Friday. I know how a sandwich is supposed to be made, the values of the company, and what is expected of its employees. Today fell short on all aspects. I called in my order over the phone and was very clear with what I wanted. The lady over the phone seemed rude and impatient while taking my order. When I arrived it seemed like the rush just finished, I checked my sandwich before I left and it was incorrect. I had to have it remade, in the mean time 5 more people walked in behind me. I felt bad because now I am holding them up when I was trying to save everyone time by calling ahead. I saw how she cut my meat, it was not flowered, it was flat on the sub. When they went to cut the bread they didn't cut it thru so I had to pull it apart which made a mess later. They wrapped it incorrectly as well, the sandwich leaked ALL OVER MY SEAT. I counted the logos on the paper, there are supposed to be 4, I saw 3. Everything is done with intention at JM and the team is supposed to take pride in their work. A rush is not a reason for subpar product. You are paying for a premium sandwich the experience should be as well. I hate to be this "Karen" but if this was my store NONE of this would have happened. I really hope someone reads this and takes it as an opportunity to empower the team to excellence.
