I was craving some soup, so I thought "eh, Panera!" I would've gone anywhere else but being new to Holland I had no idea that a lot of joints close early on Sundays. Quality of the food matches up with any other Panera I've been to. I always go for the "Try 2" deals because you get a good bang for your buck. I enjoyed the food, but my boyfriend absolutely swears that there's better quality and cheaper brunch styles elsewhere. But I'm being honest when rate "Meh. I've experienced better." First off bathroom's didn't have toilet seat covers, which is whatever by me because I'll use the tp, but there was no tp. Went to the next stall...still no tp and pee puddles. Granted that's not Panera's fault but it definitely impacted my post-dining experience. No hot sauce, tables weren't bused as nicely, but Customer service wasn't bad (thought it's not something I'm holding against them). If you love Panera, don't let this review hold you back. But if you're a real foodie looking for an adventure, venture somewhere else for your soups and sandwiches. read more

Food is always great here, but service is HORRIBLE. Today I walked in and had the very young manager wait on everyone but me. She would look at people walking through the door, look at me in line, and wait on them first. I was sick and just wanted my food...had to get someone else to wait on me because their manager isn't experienced in customer service. I just left the Holland Panera Bread. The service was awful. It seemed everyone was training. From the time we walked in until we left was 35 mins. There were 2 people before us, and it seemed both cashiers could not find anything on their screens. All we ordered was a coffee and muffin. When I asked the Manager for help because we had waited so long for the coffee, he very arrogantly said "they are working on it" and walked away. Been a while since I have been in this restaurant. This use to be a really nice clean restaurant. What a change and not for the good. This place is filthy. It even smells bad. The dining area is not clean, not by any measure of the imagination. I know this place has a high volume of customers, but the lack of cleanliness is appalling. The woodwork surrounding the booths and all the adjacent walls are just plastered with sticky dirty fingerprints. The carpets must have several days worth of crumbs accumulated. It is a disappointment to bring my family in for a dining experience in such an unkempt environment. Given the recent remodel, I would have expected things to be much fresher. We tried calling in a lunch order yesterday and after being put on hold for 10 minutes a lady came on the phone and said she was "way too busy to take our order". She asked if it would be okay if we waited an hour and a half before she could get to our food, when I said no we'll just go somewhere else she said okay. Alright fine I'm going to Jimmy Johns and our office won't be calling in lunch orders there anymore. I don't know why I go back. Long line to get in. Computer system was down, so I could not use my coupon which expires later this week. Beverage bar was dirty. When meal was served, my wife ordered soup but did.not get a spoon. I went up to get one and was told to pick up one from the tray. Went to grab one, but the tray was full of food particles yuch! Floors were also covered with used straws and napkins. There appeared to be a table where they were stacking dirty dishes. In summary, restaurant was dirty. Although the food standard is satisfactory this place always seems understaffed and we have always had a long wait before being served. On top of that the prices are rather high. That said, my wife and I do frequent our local Panera from time to time. We enjoy the fireplace in winter when it is not too packed as well as the chocolate pastries when they are available. I'm a Panera addict and I regularly go to about 6 different ones depending on which city I am in at that time. Besides a frustrating experience I had there the other night (a very friendly and energetic woman took my order but either she or whoever puts the food together really messed it up. It's a pet peeve of mine when restaurant workers can't follow directions...) Besides that experience, this Panera has been my favorite. Great atmosphere, very friendly, and as always, excellent food. just went into the Holland branch...my wife and I both ordered the "you pick 2". My wife saw a little card on the counter that states, I quote "any 99 cent bake goods with lunch or dinner order and medium drink". My wife ordered a cupcake. The receipt showed a $2.79 charge for the cake; the orders also came withoug a "bauget/roll or chips, as shown on the receipt. I aske the "manager" (young kid) about the cupcake and the bauget/rolls/chips.... he said the "99cent bake good does NOT include cupcakes".... I asked him why they have a sign that doesn't show that.... his response: "that's the way corporate marketing does it, and I have no control over it.....I'm at the bottom of the totem poll". I almost lost my gut laughing.....I was just dumbfounded!!! Way to go Panera!... You won't have to worry about me eating at one of your locations ever again!....its not like you're the ONLY option for a quick sandwhich and soup! read more

If you are familiar at all with Panera, you are already aware of the wonderful food every time. Fresh and far superior options for anyone looking for reasonably healthy meals. What sets this location apart seems to be the incredibly kind and helpful staff. Never annoyed to enter a phone number for their "My Panera Card," prompt and polite behind the counter or when delivering the meal, the staff has on occasion even handed out free pasties at the end of the day or a soft drink on the house. You find yourself wanting to support a place like this. Relaxing and clean atmosphere. Comfortable for those with kids or a solo trip to sit in a quiet corner with your drink and a book. read more

I love Panera, but this location is bad. The past couple times I've gone, I've had to throw away parts of my meal due to the quality of some of the ingredients. When you're paying $10 for a salad, having to throw away all of the avocados because they are almost completely rotten is a shame. I'm all for letting produce live their full life, but there's a fine line between overly-ripe and straight up rotten, and it seems the team here is not the best at deciding which side of the line the food falls on. It's a shame because I love Panera, but I don't think I'll be returning to this location any time soon, especially with the other places around that have great salads and sandwiches for the same price. read more

Every time we get food to go from here, it is wrong. There's been times that they change the bread on a sandwich without telling us or asking if it's okay, salad with missing toppings or we pay extra for toppings and there won't even be extra. The bag says that it's checked by a manager every time so I'm not sure what the excuse is for constant mistakes. read more

Great place for a quick lunch. Food is always good and sops are served hot. Numerous times we have gone after church on Sunday only to see thy are out of pain bagels. Repeatedly. Apparently they only make as many as they needed on that date a year before. I was told I could call on Saturday and "reserve bagels" though. :) read more

I am normally extremely generous with the restaurants, and I try to be quite understanding. However, this Panera has mega management issues. I have been there four times this month and have not been satisfied with the service any time. I feel that I am a low maintenance customer and I'm typically happy with what I'm given, but I won't be going back to this Panera. It's a shame because I usually love Panera. Here are the issues that I've had this month: I picked up two dozen bagels and danishes to bring to a school for teacher appreciation week, and the bagels were thrown haphazardly into a large paper bag. Then, the worker proceeded to put the box of danishes right on top of the bagels and give me my order. When I mentioned something, I received a disgruntled look. I had to ask for extra pastry boxes and I repacked all of the bagels to make them presentable. I have never had this at any other Panera and I've done orders like this many times. Additionally, The staff at this Penera do not seem very friendly. I find it difficult to want to go back to a place where you feel as if you're an annoyance to the people who work there. Today, I decided to give Panera another try because I love the tomato basil bread. I ordered one loaf of tomato basil bread and one loaf of country white bread in addition to some bagels. I knew from my last experience to ask the worker to please put the bagels in a smaller paper bag or plastic bag so that they don't roll around the bottom of the large bag underneath the other items. She obliged and then proceeded to get the bread, slice it, and bag it. She definitely needs a lesson in how to put bread into a bag. The bread was shoved in a bag and was not in the shape of a loaf. Pieces of the bread were sticking in all different directions and one piece was bending in half. Customer service and presentation is not a strength at this location. I feel that this location could be cleaned up quite easily by improving the management and offering employees some training in customer service and presentation. read more
