Dishes from the morning crowd at 3:43

Nasty bathroom smells, tissues everywhere. Needs updating badly Trays still here at 3:42 pm from breakfast. Parking lot has a giant hole in the middle that's hard to miss, it will mess up your car. The outside rat control box is openly seen for anyone driving by to see it. It's just a major turn off to buy anything. I just had to leave. My husband refuses to purchase from this location the music isn't appealing and is extremely loud. Other locations are anything like this.

When in a pinch and lazy mood Panera is always a safe bet for me. We have had the flat bread, chicken tikka soup bowl and the toasted fortega sandwich. We ordered take away, but the service was quick and efficient when we got there for pick up. The ambience inside is always nice. Being a weekend it was a bit slow, but the servers are always kind and helpful. The chicken tikke soup bowl didn't taste anything like chicken tikka so that was disappointing. The flat bread and the fortega sandwich were delicious. The sandwich was my favorite as I had never had anything like it before.

Had lunch here today and my food was cool. This location is slightly dirty. All of the tables were dirty and needed to be cleaned. The floor was also dirty. Although the space was dirty the food was delicious! I had broccoli cheeses soup and grilled cheese! Prices here are definitely expensive

Came for lunch on Sunday around 12:30. They were pretty busy but still moved and served efficiently. The food was fresh and delicious!

I was just having breakfast here and noticed the unrelated review score this location has. It may be because of past experiences but wanted to provide a more recent and actual experience.. The location is extremely convenient off NC68 an Penny Road intersection. It has a patio and plenty of parking. The interior is well decorated and maintained clean at all times. I use to love how Panera placed the time on each fresh brews of coffees which was for a long time a competitive edge to Starbucks; they don't do that anymore. Coffees selection is great better than competitors and the fresh brews are available for self serve. I had a soufflé bacon spinach which are Panera specialties and a coffee. Server was very attentive and helpful. Overall great experience and highly recommend for breakfast or lunch. Prices are a little on high side for their breads but for a good reason. Very clean bathrooms which shows good management! Overall rating 4 stars!

It's been a while since I've been here. The menu has changed and not in a great way...in my opinion. A few of my prior favorites are no longer available. I had the flatbread which was a great size but unfortunately it was not hot...only warm. They did not appear to be that busy when we walked in so I'm at a loss to understand why our food apparently sat for a while before they called out our name. We also waited at the counter for a few minutes before someone came to take our order. I don't know if we will return. I don't highly recommend this location for quick service and hot food.

Most of the time, we order online and use the drive up window to pick up meals, so this is the first time in a while we've been inside. At first I was disappointed to see QR Codes on the table for menus but we were promptly brought real menus (which I prefer). I was surprised to see it seems the menu has expanded quite a bit, not only with breakfast but also things like burgers and pasta dishes. We had the rotisserie chicken omelette and a breakfast burrito. Sides were hash browns and the home fries. The omelette and burrito were both reasonably good, not the best I've had but certainly still good. The potato sides were both great. Food came fast and hot, and service was attentive. I still prefer Why Not for dinners over breakfast and this won't become by new go-to in the morning, but it's a good option and I'm glad to see them expanding the business.

We were greeted with smiling staff who asked if it were our first time here. (Guess us looking around in wonder while I snapped photos was a dead giveaway ) They offered samples of the broccoli cheddar casserole. Delicious! My sister got some with her meal. I had the Why Not Chicken wrap which has fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, and some other not-as-important stuff that all tasted scrumptious together! They made this fresh so it took a few minutes (info for those that may be in a rush) but hot and freshly made was fantastic! They have steak fries which were cooked just right. Despite the friendly young man telling me they had the "good good" ranch, they in fact do not. (If you know, you know!) But the ranch was good (enough) regardless. The restaurant is very clean, has a nice open feel to the layout and also has a small space to the side if more private dining is needed. The staff were all great! Super friendly and helpful. The owner (what I assume is the owner) has a great personality and sense of humor. My sister and I definitely enjoyed our lunch. We told them we'll be back!

This time I came back by myself and tried the noodle bar instead, and it's a completely different experience but still worth it. The noodle bar is set up like a small Korean grocery store station. Shelves of instant ramen to choose from, you grab your bowl, add your noodles and seasoning, then use one of the machines to cook it. There are three settings and I used M1, which came out just right. The broth was hot and the noodles had a good texture, not mushy. This is a basic setup. No fresh toppings, no eggs, no extras to dress it up. Some places offer that, but this one keeps it simple. If you go in expecting a full ramen bar you might be disappointed, but if you understand what they're going for, it works. And don't break your noodles. Leave them long so you can slurp them the way you're supposed to. If you watch Korean dramas, you've seen this a hundred times. Slurp the noodles and drink the broth after. I also ordered the Cajun tiger roll, 10 pieces, and that plus the noodles was more than enough food. The roll had tempura shrimp and cucumber inside, topped with spicy crab salad, spicy mayonnaise, and flame-seared salmon. The sushi chef used a handheld torch to sear the salmon right in front of me, and that added a nice finish. Between the noodles and sushi, I was full. This is a good option if you don't want to do the full all-you-can-eat. It's quick, easy, and you still get a good experience without committing to grilling at the table. I'd still recommend this place for groups, but now I'd also tell people not to overlook the bar if you're by yourself or just want something lighter. Must order: Instant ramen (use M1) and the Cajun tiger roll Heads up: Noodle bar is basic with no fresh toppings, manage expectations accordingly

I'll tell you wait, this place is a hidden gem though. The place itself is an old Pizza Hut located between High Point and Jamestown. It's a small building with a drive through and quite a bit of parking for a small establishment. Nothing incredibly fancy but they had some nice touches such as homemade wicker decorations and traditional sauces on the tables. The lighting was not overly bright but was a nice ambiance setter. Our waitress was phenomenal. Very polite and explained everything to us. She reviewed the items we ordered and made sure we understood what everything was. She even explained to us how traditional Vietnamese people ate some of the dishes which added to the experience. We ordered 3 appetizers to split and get a taste of different things and it was nice as she brought out each one separately so we could enjoy what was just served. As for the food, we had the following: Rice Paper Rolls - all the ingredients were fresh and the vegetables were crisp. The peanut dipping sauce was to die for and could have been eaten by itself. Pulled Pork Sliders - a more modern take on pork buns. These were one of our favorite dishes . The cilantro was a little heavy but a minor complaint. Chicken Satay - absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The peanut sauce was glazed on and not too heavy. For our main course my wife had the House Pho and I had Beef Shortrib Banh Hoi. My wife really enjoyed her Pho although the tendon and tripe were chewy and not to her liking. The Banh Hoi was absolutely delicious and a fun way to eat dinner. For those who haven't had it, it's almost a make your own lettuce wrap with meat, a sheet of noodles, cucumber, and carrots. You then dip it in a broth. All of the flavors meld nicely and it was delicious! I had the short rib which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this little gem for a fun night out or to try something different.

It closed in early February for what were supposed to be renovations, only to reopen months later with a new name and a new concept, trading slightly upscale Southern for more upscale Italian. In some regards, this makes sense - it fills a void created by the closure of Lulu and Blu - but in other ways, it's a massive gamble. My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and while it was an overall pleasant experience, it also made us miss Magnolia. The higher price point is the chief culprit. Otto and Blue offers pastas in the $20s and entrees starting in the $30s, bread and olive oil not included. While we were celebrating an occasion that merited such a splurge, it's hard to imagine the restaurant remaining competitive at those prices once the sheen of newness wears off. Look past that, however, and Otto and Blue shines in both ambiance and service. It's classy without being stuffy, and the dark turquoise tones suit it well. Allison, a Magnolia Blue mainstay, was personable and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Otto and Blue's menu offers apps, salads, pastas, and entrees. It's predominantly Italian albeit with a few options for the steak-and-potatoes crowd. The dishes range from recognizably classic (rigatoni Bolognese) to conspicuously elevated (halibut piccatta). After mulling over several offerings, we went with the bread service, tagliatelle, and duck cacciatore. The food ranged from fairly good to outstanding. While $9 for bread is a tough pill to swallow, they executed it as well as they possibly could have: a hot, fresh ciabatta with tasty herb butter, olive relish, and a quality olive oil-balsamic combo as accompaniments. The cacciatore boasted a pair of duck legs confit, and while I'm usually no fan of dark meat poultry, these were prepared well with crispy skin and plenty of meat. For a typically hearty dish, the sauce seemed light (and a bit subdued), but that could be a consequence of serving atop polenta (more absorbent) rather than pasta. Speaking of pastas and sauces, the tagliatelle hit a nice balance of creamy and zesty without swimming in its white wine lemon sauce. Surprisingly, the highlight of the meal ended up being the dessert that Otto and Blue kindly offered as an anniversary gift. A scoop of vanilla bean gelato came adorned with a Biscoff cookie, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of salt. If salt and especially olive oil on ice cream seem vaguely blasphemous, don't knock it until you try it. Each bite was thoroughly delicious. It's a given that good food doesn't come cheap, but even so, Otto and Blue has no margin for error to justify what it charges. On food alone, it was close but not quite there. However, the overall experience made it worthwhile, and I have no regrets about dining here.

I stopped by a little before noon on a Friday to find the establishment very busy, a testament to Alexandria's loyal following. As much as I wanted to like this place, however, it just didn't strike me as anything special. Positives first: Alesha is a friendly and welcoming presence, and the staff here seem hard-working and personable. Though the menu is fairly limited, several items - a crostini and a spinach/hummus/red pepper/quinoa wrap - held appeal. I ultimately went with the day's special, an Italian sandwich. It took a while to arrive, but given how busy - and new - the bistro was, I'm inclined to cut them some slack. While the sandwich featured a good amount of meat, it was oddly sweet due to the choice of pepper. Banana peppers and a dash of oregano would have been a welcome remedy. Like a few of the other sandwich offerings, the Italian clocked in at $12 with a bag of chips included. Some of the salads reached ambitiously into the teens. I may need to give Bistro 1605 another shot after they are fully up to speed at their new location, but initial impressions suggest a place that will serve you neither a bad lunch (and there is something to be said for that consistency alone) nor a particularly memorable one.
