Long day at work and but incredibly hungry. The good news is that today is Thursday, and I get to have a great excuse to grab some viva chicken Bruno's Family meal special. My family loves this Peruvian rotisserie chicken and they get my take out order ready in a timely manner. You get three large sides w a whole chicken, so I don't have to worry about dinner tonight. My favorite sauces are the rocoto (red) and huacatay( green) ones. If you haven't tried their mini churros you're missing out. Don't forget to sign up for their loyalty program. Place is clean and staff is friendly. read more

As always, my food at Viva Chicken was yummy! The lively atmosphere and attentive service provided me with the fresh food that I have come to expect. The Ají (yellow) and Huacatay (green) sauces really helped to liven up my half chicken, green beans, and chaufa (Peruvian Fried Rice). What did throw me off was how the churros have changed. It used to be one long churro that was less than $3.00. That has been replaced with churro minis for over $5.00. Initially, the price and appearance of the churros (which I didn't see until I received them) made me think I was getting less for more money. They were absolutely delicious! But, for them to cost twice as much as they used to, the price did seem too high for the portion size. read more

This is similar to places like CAVA but with a different food theme. The food is ready in a short period so if you're not a fan of long wait times at restaurants this one is good. The food is very good, though be wary they can be a little heavy on the seasonings if you aren't one to eat with a lot of seasonings. The sauces they have is so good! The service is amazing. The people waiting on you is so quick to serve your food and clean the place. I definitely recommend coming here. read more

So had a meeting in Greensboro and after that I decided to go to Viva chicken which is right by my highway return ramp. Apparently they were having an issue with their register system because only cash people could order at the register. Nice young man showed me how to use the app so that I could order & pay online for my takeout. What they do with the food is very good maybe not as good as my beloved chicken fiesta from Virginia, but will do in a pinch.. hopefully they will resolve their point of sale issues because some customers probably would've just walked away. I know my parents and their peers would've and that would be a shame because the read more

Came here with a coworker who swears by this place. The place was clean, inside and out. I got the Naked Peruvian Wrap with all white meat. I wish it was listed on the menu that there were onions, so I could have gotten it removed. Also, I wish someone mentioned the sauces that were stationed on the other side of the restaurant. Thankfully it wasn't covered in onions. I believe knowing about the sauce would have helped me push through the wrap quicker. Despite all of that, the wrap was decent. The fruit was good. The sweet tea wasn't really sweet, and the Dr. Pepper I tried wasn't to par either. I'm hoping it's an off day. I am willing to come back and try again. The chicken quarters looked really good. read more

The chicken here is outstanding! We also really love their fries, yucca fries, plantains, and alllll the sauces! For real, all three are delicious and add the perfect flavor to your food. We have had the rice and beans here and they are ok, just a little bland (until you add some sauce!). The restaurant is clean and usually pretty busy, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Our kids loved our lunch here after church. We will be back! read more

I have been to Peru a few times, and have had the opportunity to have authentic Peruvian "Pollo Peruano." This place comes pretty close! The ambiance is great, very spacious and upscale. Side dishes were delicious. The chicken it self was cooked juicy, service was very fast. The sauces were all very good too. They just about nailed the aji amarillo in my opinion. Definitely consider going here for a "deluxe", casual dining experience. read more

Service here is very good. It's a basic chain restaurant, so the atmosphere is pretty average. Think Chipotle. Food is average, our whole chicken was over cooked and dry. But their sides were very good. The plantains were excellent and so sweet. read more

Viva Chicken is an excellent addition to the Triad. Although a chain, it still feels somewhat small-time. It's a fast-casual take on Peruvian style rotisserie chicken or pollo a la brasa. I enjoyed my chicken sandwich, and the various specialty drinks available to pair with a meal. Fries were perfect and went together nicely with the salsas. Service was good as usual with a fast casual establishment. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

My husband and I wanted to try something new for our lunch date. We were VERY disappointed. The only good thing about this place is the nice employees. What a pleasant surprise! I checked Viva Chicken's latest menu items including the verde chicken dishes. The burrito and the tacos are so full of flavor and I absolutely LOVE the greens sauce- it's exactly like the authentic Peruvian sauce I had back in NYC. Plus the restaurant has such cool artwork all around the walls that creates such a welcoming space. The servers are super friendly and answer any questions about the menu, I absolutely loved my experience here. Also, you MUST try the churros- they are delicious! read more

The food was very good. Tje cashier recommend the chicken which turned out to be really tender and seasoned. Setvice was really exceptional and they also bring the food to the table. The green verde sauce reminds me of the Mexican fresh salsa Verde sauce with a little more kick. All 4 sauces that was given was really good. The cilantro rice was good however the green beans were very gingery...the ginger flavor really over took the freshness from the green beans. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice. Hopefully when returning I will try something new. read more

The chicken is really the only complaint. Hate to say it, but for $5 the chicken at Costco is bigger, juicier and more flavorful. BUT, this place gets you with the sides. All of their sides are incredible and goes so well. Also love their natural soda selection. I had to try this Peruvian Chicken restaurant because I had tried a similar restaurant toward the Raleigh area some months earlier, and really like their rotisserie style of bird. Their is no table service at this chain restaurant, it is a sort of cattle call situation when business is at a peak - you que up to order & pay, get a number and grab a table if eating in, this can be a rather rushed process. These places seem to consistently do a sizable take out business, often large orders. This location does have a good amount of seating, much of which are fairly comfortable booths - the location in Winston has only a few booths with most of the seating being less than comfortable metal chairs and tables. The chicken here was very good, nice and tender, well seasoned, not the slightest over cooked - which occurs frequently in some of the mom and pop South American chicken houses. I ordered the 1/2 chicken so I would be able to try both white and dark meat - each was nice! I also tried the beans and slaw, liked the beans, slaw not so much. I have tried the Viva Chicken in Winston as well, the Greensboro one seems a bit more organized for folks choosing to eat in. This is solid chicken, different style is nice for a change, but only once in a while. I'm sure I'll try this chain's chicken again soon. read more

I actually ordered in from here, and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. Because it was really good. I got the quinoa avocado salad, and it was delicious. The avocado was not quite as ripe as I would like it to be, but it was still really great. There could have been a little more flavor to the chicken, but it was real chicken. It was cooked well. It had a great presentation. The colors were beautiful. The taste again, was great. I loved the sauces that come on the side, even though I was a little hesitant to try them. They were surprisingly good And it was fresh, and healthy, which is just what I was looking for. So I'll be definitely going here more and or ordering in here from now on. I also got the mini churros, and they were so good. It was just what I needed on a Friday after noon to get me through the rest of the day and into the weekend. Unfortunately, I was not able to visit the restaurant today, but I certainly will update my review once I do. But I expect the same good food and great experience I had today. I would highly recommend Viva chicken, it was exactly what I wanted today. Thank you! read more

SO GOOD! (But why do I adapt an Elvis Presley song to this, every time I say: "Vivaaaaaa ... Chicken!" -Sorry. Y'all know I'm from Memphis) We've had VC catered to us and it was a big hit. EVERYTHING was delicious -rotisserie chicken, cilantro rice, plantain, salad, & fruit salad. I loved the green Huacatay sauce (a spicy mixture of Peruvian black mint, jalapenos & cilantro.) GREEN FIRE! I've also ordered from this location the Viva Salad with Chicken (see beautiful photo.) Really good food to eat that breaks away from the norm! read more

Recommend 10/10 Ordered December 31st via UberEats and requested that the food be double bagged and knotted to protect the freshness. They, both viva chicken and UberEats delivered. Can't wait to revisit. read more

Best chicken deal in town!! We recently tried a new chicken place and have a new appreciation for viva chicken. Their big chicken meal went up by $4-5 and with an extra small order of plantains our total bill was just over $30. This will feed 2 adults (including a male that has a healthy appetite) with some leftover for a smaller meal. The other place didn't even feed 2 adults, chicken was awful and we were charged $1 for DARK meat for $33 total. If we ordered a meal comparable to Bruno's big meal it would have cost almost $50!!! And still not as much food. See comparison pictures. Great service and casual fun atmosphere - music can be a bit loud but it's upbeat (and food makes up for it)!! read more

I tried. I'm over this place every time. I seem to go there it's something wrong with my order. I ordered online. Two months ago. I got burnt green beans. Something told me to check my order I didn't . I get to work the Peruvian Chicken was good. It was moist no burnt green beans this time . Rice was good. I had my heart set on coffee with my mini churros I go to open up the box. It's not mini churros it's plantains I didn't order plantains it's not written on the order for plantains. It's like it's always something wrong with my order. This is telling me, to find another Peruvian restaurant that doesn't mess up my order. I like the place but it's just too many things like this happening that makes me not want to patronize this establishment. I'll upload pictures in few read more

Solid place for the most part. A Peruvian based chain: it hits on the idea but slightly misses on the authenticity. The food is still good don't get me wrong. The chicken is what you come for and I've learned that you definitely order the dark meat over white. The chicken is marinated 24 hours (per their sign) then cooked on coals/fire. You definitely get that nice skin and some flavors come through but I wouldn't necessarily say it's authentic Peruvian taste. The white meat for me was pretty dry by the time my order came out. The marinade...didn't really penetrate enough. The cilantro rice is fair, sauces are good (they are different flavors, not sure why they categorize it as different levels of heat). The odd pairing was the offering of French fries. This place does get packed fairly quick off Wendover. The food was a three but the they get a four because it was a younger staff but they maintained composure, worked with urgency of getting out your food, and was very kind. read more

Another delicious and healthy meal to-go from @vivachicken in Greensboro, NC. This is Peruvian style food. Such great service too. They took extra time and answered questions about sodium in the salad dressings and made sure to give us extra salsa. Today we are feasting on a limeade (you can taste the basil, mint, and rosemary in this sweet limeade. It's amazing), a 1/2 rotisserie chicken with two sides of cilantro rice, Sopa de Pollo with a side of canary beans to add in (I love how the soup comes with the broth separate from the fresh ingredients), small order of yuca with cheese dip (sooo good! Like a thicker chewier potato with whipped fluffy cheese dipping sauce), a large sweet potato order, and an Andina Power Food Salad with Lime Passionfruit vinaigrette. We need some nutritional lunches that are also filling so that we have lots of energy to pack boxes. This is just the place to eat. Their to-go menu is on the app or online. read more

Need to update my review to confirm what I suspected in the last one. If you don't march in here and order a sad salad, then you are probably going to enjoy your meal. Since my original visit, we have had some to-go and curbside orders on their rotisserie chicken family specials. The chicken is always top notch, better than your average grocery store rotisserie chicken for sure (though no one can touch the value of a Costco chicken). It comes with a litany of sauces and side options, and you can always add additional sides for a medium charge. We like to get their whole chicken and 3 big sides deal. Most of the sides are awesome, we always get some arroz chaufa and the Peruvian corn salad. The third side tends to rotate, but is typically plantains for a little sweet. Regardless, we make a seperate order for a "side" of fries. Let me tell you, anywhere else, they'd call this a basket of fries. It's enough to give 4 people a good helping! The fries are also perfectly done. Crispy outside, soft inside like mashed potatoes. Some of my favorite fries in town. The deal listed above is absolutely one of the best values around. Ordering individually can get expensive otherwise. We have tried their tacu special on Tuesday nights, but find that overall we need to add our own seasonings to kick up the flavor. Generally though, even for a chain, the flavors are above average. We don't go that often, but usually enjoy when we do! read more
