What happened to this place? It used to be clean, and well stocked, and the quality of the food was first rate. But all of that has seemingly disappeared. The past three Pick up orders have been incomplete, customization requests were virtually ignored, and substitutions were made without notice. The shelves that used to hold the different breads are no longer on display, any order has to be fetched from the back, giving the counter area a feeling of emptiness and disarray, and, sadly, very unappealing. The staff used to have two or three OUTSTANDING counter personnel. Helpful, thoughtful, friendly; I have praised their performance many times to the managers on duty. Alas, I haven't seen any of those staff members in quite some time. Those who work there now give off a disinterested, lackadaisical attitude. One worker didn't offer to place my bread order in a shopping bag, saying, 'You don't want a bag, do you?' And when I said I did, they rolled their eyes as they had to go into the back to retrieve it. The Baguettes used to be OUTSTANDING. Worth the drive to procure. I Don't know if the recipe has changed, or they're not being baked correctly, but they are now an entirely different texture, and without much flavor. So sad. Used to be a great place. I will try to visit another location to see if the situation is any different, but I fear the company, in general has changed dramatically, and not for the better. read more

Great place, super busy. I ate around lunch time and I ordered using the ordering tablet in the store. The order took forever from processing to appear in the screen. I saw that my order was ready on the screen, and went up to get my good. I got half a chicken chipotle sandwich and the butternut squash soup. It was pretty good. Sandwich was hot, and tasty. I came to this Panera location this morning for a business meeting. It was very early and we all needed some kind of pick-me-up. I ordered us a coffee and two teas. I elected for a green-tea and it was super refreshing to sip on throughout the meeting. We were there for about 2 hours and never once were we rushed out or asked encourage to order more. I'm giving it a 4 star instead of a 5 because I found the cashier at the counter to be single low energy. Truth is however, I came there for their snacks, coffee, and ample space to get some work done. I get it though, I used to work in restaurants and in customer-service jobs and know how tiring it can be. Green-tea: Tasty and very hot temperature wise and goes perfect with some honey mixed in. Like all chain restaurants there is a specific model they follow. I like the one that Panera uses. There restaurants are always bright, cheerful and very clean. Condiment stations are always checked and cleaned and tables are constantly being maintained. I like the way that you order from one area, given a buzzer so you can find a seat and relax, then get called to pick up your meal. The team member taking our order was extremely cordial and helped us through a couple of modifications with ease. That's a really good trait of any restaurant these days given so many diet restrictions of patrons. As always the food was extremely fresh and very well prepared. Five stars for the Chicken Noodle Soup and my friends salad looked great. Panera certainly has made me a lifetime customer and I always look forward to a visit. read more

I think I'm finally done with this place. I work nearby so I often order for lunch. Great spot when they first opened many years ago but the last year or so, garbage. Sloppy food, quality issues like wilted and old lettuce, ingredients are not fresh and they've become stingy with the quantity. Bowls of soup are never full, the warm bowls are half empty. My co-worker and I order from here every two months especially during the cold months. I love their tomato soup with grilled cheese. And my co-worker likes to get the fruit salad for me. I normally have not complaints but this last visit was not so great. My fruit salad was disgusting!! The pineapple was rotting the grapes looked like it was on its last days and the fruit salad was warm also.. WOW, do i HATE panera. this place makes me lose faith in humanity. I ordered 2 simple drinks, 1 from my Sip Club a large Fuji Apple Cranberry and the other a regular iced chai latte. I ordered online thru the rapid pick up. said it would be ready at 1:09pm.. i got there at 1:13pm. this location they have shelves for rapid pickup, but they don't use it. instead there is a sign that says you have to wait on a separate line to request your order. i waited only to be asked for my order #, i told the woman, i can give you my name. but she insisted i needed the order number. after finally going through my phone, i showed her the order, she found it and handed me 1 drink. i told her, there are 2 drinks. and showed her the items of the order from my phone. she proceeded to give me a baffled look and got me another iced chai latte, i said no it's for the Fuji Apple. she then got it and when to get a regular Fuji, i asked for a large. but at that point i wasted so much time, i just left. I will NEVER come to this location or any panera in NY for that matter. i will also be canceling my Sip Club Membership. i'll mention also I gave them a tip, thinking the employees work so hard, but never again. Well for starters the cashier was less then friendly, like it was a bother to be taking our order. My boyfriend ordered a flatbread-which was more like a sandwich but it was very skimpy on the fillings-not worth it! Stopped by there this morning to give the new breakfast menu a try. Limited, but decent offerings of sandwiches, wraps, oatmeal, etc. Got a chicken, avocado and scrambled egg wrap. Quality ingredients, as you'd expect from Panera. Only one person was initially at a register and things were moving a little slowly, but a second person came to speed it up. But it seemed to take an unusually long time to prepare my food, during a time when the store wasn't that busy. On the other hand, the coffee (I had the dark roast) is MUCH better than it ever was. Today was the first time i went into this Panera location and it wasn't something i enjoyed. I couldn't help but overhear how loud the cooks/employees were being. They were very loud and using very inappropriate words. It's one thing to curse at your job but it's another to be cursing very loudly to the point where the customers can overhear. However, I recently went in to do some work, I in no way expected it to be completely silent but the workers were EXTREMELY loud. I ordered delivery and although I received an email saying the order has arrived, it has not. (Order number 498618487) This may be due to two of the same street address in Farmingdale (I am South Farmingdale) which is why I always reference the cross street. The email confirmation does show a map with my exact address confirming they should be going to the correct address. Trying to contact the store about the issue results in no answer as the business phone number listed on Yelp and on Panera.com results in a recorded message. When selecting to speak to a representative, nobody answers and a recorded message saying the voicemail mailbox is full follows. Tried calling multiple times to see if someone would answer for 40 minutes but no answer. So now the only option is a long call to corporate to try for a resolution, on hold for 20 minutes so far.... Will probably have to go to the restaurant at this point, but afraid the order would come when I leave if they realized their error. Surprisingly there is not an option on the website or in the delivery email to click on if there is a problem with the delivery. My favorite place, and I've been there more than 10 times, now that I read some of the reviews, I realized they also have been leaving ingredients out of my items as well. Also the store does not feel as fresh as some of the others I've been to, can't tell if it's the air circulation, or overall cleanliness, or just the way it looks, there is something that I can't put my finger on.
