I ordered from the drive thru and the price of my food came out to $21. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I did the "Pick 2" deal, which I thought was a set price for 2 items (1/2 sandwich & soup, salad, or pasta) . I ended up being charged separately for each-- so its not really a good deal, as advertised. Once I got the food, I was shocked at how little food there was, for the price I paid. $6.50 for a little bowl of chicken tortellini Alfredo pasta with ONE piece of chicken in it & barely enough pasta to keep me full. I was mind blown at how ungenerous this place can be. The prices are ridiculously high and you don't even get your moneys worth!!! I will most definitely NOT be going back there again. I ordered the new flat bread sandwiches as well, and they had a lot of sauce but not much chicken in them. Very cheapo . I could've paid the same amount for this food at a local restaurant, and got way more for my moneys worth. The prices should either be lowered, or more food given for each order. Sheesh. Ordered a "You pick 2" with the Tomato Mozzarella flatbread and a Vegetarian Corn Chowder. Except the corn chowder was not so vegetarian after all. When I took it back to the counter, they just offered a new bowl of soup without even acknowledging the fact that there was a huge chicken piece in the soup. Did not answer the question whether the chicken piece fell in the soup pot or soup bowl. Only saving grace was that the manager came to talk to us and refunded the money for the soup and sandwich. Been here several times thru the years. Not a big fan of overpriced wanna be not healthy food. I used to like there food until I realized just how unhealthy it is. Not really cheap per se but better than fast food along the way. They have salads, sandwiches, soups, breads, coffee tea etc. Desserts also. Most of the soups I used to like here are gone. It's a great place to meet up for coffee and talk but in my opinion that's about it. The kinda place that if u are looking for a place that's better than fast food than its for you. But to me it's right up in same category as starbucks. I ordered the u pick 2 for lunch I got half a roasted turkey avocado blt n strawberry poppy seed salad. I have to admit it was quite delicious. Very happy it wasn't drowned in dressing. It was grilled chicken, romaine, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, mandarin oranges and pecans with light dressing it was really good. I must admit, I never gave Panera a fair shot. Recently we had minimal time to grab a bite so we decided to pull in to the drive thru. I had the Cranberry turkey Flatbread and the turkey chili and it was surprisingly delicious. I also ordered the green tea and it was awesome. Not sure what took me so long to give it a whirl but I went back again just to confirm it wasn't just a one time thing. Next I tried the Mediterranean quinoa salad (it was also very good and good for you) and another green tea and, yup, the experience was just as good as the first. So why not try their breakfast right? Didn't disappoint then either! Had one of the egg souffle options and a greek yogurt. They were fantastic! They offer catering service too for pickup and delivery and have a drive thru for quick grab and go stops. read more

Should really be 4.5, but yelp doesn't allow that. :( Not sure why this Panera receives so many bad reviews. The food is great - it's a definitely welcome addition to the East Windsor area. The price point is exactly what it should be for the quality of the food they provide (with the exception of the pastas, which tend to be on the small side. I still order them anyway.) It's quick service, not fast food and you should expect the price to reflect that. I've been happy with everything I've eaten here - especially the soufflés! They're only available during breakfast and you usually have to get there early but it's worth it. The mac and cheese is great as well. An added bonus is their rapid pickup system - order through their app or website, pay, and your order is ready in ten minutes - all you have to do is run in and pick it up off the shelf. It's much better than wasting time in the drive-thru. I took off a half star because they've forgotten things in my order on occasion (wrong bread on breakfast sandwiches, no croutons for soup, receiving chips instead of an apple, etc.). This is by far the worst customer service I encountered! I ordered using the kiosk and my order was not correctly made. Moreover, the manager came by letting us know she will remake the full salad (I received half a salad) and haven't received it even after waiting 20 mins. In adjusting, the Mediterranean salad we ordered was bread with 2 slices of tomato and 1 lettuce! Portion size was ridiculous!I just got up and walked out. Never going to panera for the ripoff. Even though this Panera opened up in my town for over a year now, I have yet to come here until today. I was not disappointed at all, but I was neither impressed. It was just a usual panera bread experience, so I would say it's rather consistent. I ordered the chicken noodle soup in a bread bowl. The soup was hot and comforting, and the bread was pretty soft and fresh. The ambiance was pretty nice and there are not many places that have an ambiance like this in East Windsor! This past Tuesday night, I ordered the Asian salad. The salad was good and fresh, but when I got near the end, there was hair in the salad. I was home it was late and there was nothing I could do so I shook it off. I've noticed that the employees don't wear head covering. Two nights later, I ordered the same thing and this time I got home and there was a very visible rotten apple in the bag. You couldn't miss the rotten area all over the top. I got in my car at 9 p.m. and took it back, spoke to the manager and she apologized and said next time I visit Panera's ask for her and I'll get a free meal, which is why I gave them 2 stars. They got me to buy $50 gift card and get $10 free gift card in January but they never mentioned that the $10 gift card expires within a month ( If I had known then I'd have used it first since they gave me 2 cards ) few weeks later I went to the store to use it and they said it expires call the headquarter they might reactivate it. I literally can't believe I will be writing a review as such about Panera Bread. My colleagues and I, 9 of us, decided to order Lunch from Panera Bread. I ordered using my app for all of us and received a confirmation email. One of my colleagues went to pick it up and was first told that they did not receive any orders and couldn't pull up the order using the order number nor the name. When he asked to speak to a manager, he was then told that it was prepared and someone must have walked away with our order. When my colleague argued about the situation, they expressed their apology and vouched to re-do the order from the confirmation email that was provided to them. As he came back with the order, we noticed that we were missing a few items that was ordered. We all loved our Broccoli cheddar soup, but no one liked the sandwiches they ordered. I personally ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and it tasted bland. How can anyone go wrong with a grilled cheese sandwich. For the Mac & Cheese Bread Bowl, they gave a small Mac n Cheese and no bread. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this location and go to another Panera Bread if you'd like. read more

3 stars is being extremely generous here. For as much as I paid, I should be more disappointed in what I received. I dined inside the restaurant during lunch hours only once. Never again will I subject myself to that chaos. It was difficult finding seating, and when I finally did, I felt like I had no elbow space. There are blind corners EVERYWHERE. Not really a good thing considering many folks come to Panera for the hot soup. I felt like I had to be cautious everywhere I walked. It was just an unecessary nerve-wracking Sunday lunch. Also, why is the pick up counter so high? I noticed many people standing on their tippy toes to pick up their order. That just seems very awkward and poorly thought out. I used the drivethrough service a couple of times. The first time, I didn't receive my entire order, and I waited for over 10 minutes. The girl at the window seemed very flustered. But considering how new the restaurant was, I attributed it to the first week jitters or something. Not an issue, we've all been there. The second time I used the drivethrough, they were a little more efficient. But unfortunately my food wasn't as good. The sandwich was not toasted as advertised, but it was rather soggy. The soup was good, however definitely overpriced. And that's the real kicker. The cost. I can't seem to dine here without spending at least close to 15 dollars. And that's merely the cost of a sandwich, soup, and beverage. Sure I could do without the soup I suppose. But I could easily find better value for all three of those things in any sit down restaurant in the surrounding neighborhood. Parking lot is kind of tight, and I came very close to getting hit here once. Be careful exiting in the rear, and remember to look both ways. I noticed that many vehicles are navigating that area very speedily. The restaurants dumpster also looks like it fell from the sky in a clumsy manner, blocking the view of on-coming traffic. I could have easily complained (more haha) and marked this review down to two stars. But I know that this location is fairly new, and they are still figuring out the logistics. Instead of serving me while the man decided the woman at the counter stared at him until he decided. I lived in Montgomery and would frequent the Panera bread in Raritan near Wegmans often and I became a fan from that restaurant. Fast forward a half dozen years and I now live near this one. Well what a difference a location makes. Either that or the place has just failed in quality all around. 1. Always out of bread bowls. Panera Bread is a "Bakery". They have not once in 4 visits had that item. How is that possible? 2. Ordered sandwiches and salads from the drive through, wanted a bread bowl but you know, no bread bowl at Panera "Bread". Wow. Could not be more ugly thrown together, half warmed and soggy. Salad was a lukewarm uninspired disaster. I was crushed that our close punt-meal choice was so poor. At a tiny bit and into the trash. 3. Tried again but this time (surprise) no bread bowls. Didn't do the drive through due to fear and went in and ordered. It was a little better but still you would have to be extremely apathetic to serve what we received. I did think maybe google was trying out some automated sandwich makers or something but nope, humans actually made my sandwich. 4. Last time I swear, we will just see if they can make a sandwich and maybe even *gasp* get a bread bowl full of broccoli cheddar soup. That would be no bowl for you. All the soup you want (which isn't all that red hot but the bowl is nice). Well the one thing that makes me not want to impale myself with an iron stick is that they have goodies that are still good. Orange scone or a brownie. I don't hate that. I just wish they would improve themselves. The food sounds so awesome on the menu but when you get it, its morbid reality. I work near this location and am here very often... I have noticed several times that they are so slow. At least compared to other locations. I liked how quickly our orders were put in and how fast we got our food once seated. As for food quality I enjoyed my macroni and cheese but found my mocha latte bitter. I also can't stand the giant straw you get with the ice mocha Latte my entire pinky fits in the huge straw. There's no need for giant tubes to be used as straws. Update: I don't know if there are new staff on or if this location is under new management but I have seen a vast improvement in the quality of the food here in the past few months. I went back a few times after my previous review and had the same issue with portion sizes so I stopped for a couple months. I started going back in April and it is now at least a once-a-week lunch destination for me. I feel I'm getting better pieces of meat, fresher ingredients, and the normal portion of food. Whatever you changed, it's working! Also the staff are always courteous, professional, and go above and beyond what would be expected of them. Old Review: I just started working in Hightstown and was excited to hear there was a Panera just down the road since it is my favorite lunch spot. I was highly disappointed with this particular location. I used the drive through which was good. All service aspects of my experience were good. However, I was highly disappointed in the food. Because the food came out so fast it was obvious that it was premade. Which I wasn't thrilled about but it is a drive through. However, the size of my 1/2 sandwich in the u pick 2 was unacceptable. I order many of the same items when I go to Panera and I've never received such a small portion. It was about 3 bites of sandwich. There was only one Slice of avocado on my 1/2 turkey avocado blt and about 2 slices of turkey. Normally when I eat this sandwich the turkey is overflowing out the sides. My 1/2 salad was fine but after devouring everything in my bag I can say I'm still famished. Normally I save the chips for later because I'm too full! I have yet to step foot inside this Panera, but I have gone through their drive through a number of times. The location is very convenient, near the turnpike and off 130. I usually order their Mediterranean Egg White sandwich and I have never been disappointed. The bread is nicely toasted and the combination of egg white, spinach and roasted tomato creates a nice flavor profile in my mouth. Gave up on this place after 2 visits. Both times I ordered a large bacon Mac and cheese with an apple. The first visit got me a small Mac and cheese even though I paid for a large. The second time I got the correct size but they gave me bread instead of an apple even after the confirmed with me 2x that I wanted an apple. These were the only times i've been to a drive thru so maybe when trying to quickly serve they are sacrificing quality and correct orders. I have ordered food to go and half of my meal has been missing or the receipt will say chicken noodle soup but in the bag I will get a different soup. I called up and spoke to the manager Chris. I usually go to Panera on Nassau Street in Princeton. This location is relatively new and I wanted to give it a try. While I thought that the food was all right, the associate at the cash register kept calling me "hon". She probably meant well, although I found it rather annoying, as she said word "hon" at the end of each sentence. The other issue with this location is the volume of their music. If you are hoping to have a nice business lunch with your associate and discuss important issues over meal, look for another place - you will not be able to hear each other behind concert-level music.
