I just had to share my recent dining experience at Panera's East Windsor, NJ store. It was nothing short of exceptional with an extensive menu that caters to all tastes, outstanding service, and tremendous value. It's an easy 11 on a 1-10 scale! Let me tell you about the service, it was simply impeccable. Shift Managers Kenny and Lore were incredibly attentive and cordial with an eye for detail that made my dining experience even more enjoyable. And then there's Kristen, the quarterback, who orchestrates all the moving parts like a virtuoso concert maestro. It's truly impressive to see how smoothly everything runs in such a fast paced environment under the watchful eyes of Kenny, Lore, and Kristen. Panera is the next one off the list for ordering take out where I don't check the bag. This Panera left out a $6 cookie (kitchen sink) in a recent door dash order. Should I have called the restaurant? By the time we got our order and realized the cookie was missing- the restaurant had closed and we left the next day. I would reconsider ordering take out from this restaurant unless you can be assured that the individuals packing it can count. They also neglected to include utensils. Not sure if this is a door dash issue- but one would think that a to go order to a hotel would warrant a few plastic utensils. They are usually included in my take out order at my local Panera- but why should restaurant chains have any consistency? I would avoid this branch. first, there was no milk, half & half, etc. out. Had to ask for it. Didn't ask us if we wanted bread, chips or apple an we forgot to prompt them. Apparently, default is bread (with a sandwich?). Just ordered at the drive-thru a pick 2. Thought the price was high so when I drove to the window I was trying to get the girls attention, she didn't see me, so after 5 minutes she came to the window and I told her the price was high for a pick 2. She said "oh the things you order don't come in half sizes so they aren't apart of the pick 2" You would think she would have said that when I ordered them asking for a pick 2? I have been ordering from this location ever since they opened up years ago, and our family has noticed a distinct downgrade in the food and customer service in the past few months. For a while now, several of our orders have been wrong, with items missing, the location running out of the correct containers, and having the person taking the order pretending to input my phone number but not actually doing this, so I miss out on rewards points because they couldn't be bothered. Then today we ordered 3 grilled cheese sandwiches and we were given a crust sandwich (see pic) instead of a slice of bread, and the person who made the sandwiches didn't even bother to cut any of them in half! They also added chicken to the Greek salad that was ordered as a vegetarian salad and told us that chocolate milk was available so we ordered it only to be told at the window that they didn't have chocolate milk. We complained and they did remake the whole order, but the whole experience took probably 35 minutes or more and wasted our time. Just like every other Panera. Great salads and bread bowls and sandwiches. I love the ability to customize my order on their self service iPads. Coffee is not the best, and pastries are too sweet and glazed for my liking. Seating at this location is very spacious and service is quick. A great place for a quick bite to eat. The staff was very helpful despite it being very busy. We saw management running around helping people with their orders during lunch time. They have some outside seating and as well as decent seating indoors. I'll stop by again when in area. read more

Saw the ads for the Prime Dipper sandwich so I went for one because I love French Dip sandwiches. Big disappointment. $13 is too much for a sandwich without a decent amount of meat. It tasted okay if you could taste the small amount of meat. They give you a bowl of dipping liquid which one would assume is au jus, it is not. It is onion soup, so with all the onions in it, there is not enough liquid to dip the entire sandwich, you run out of liquid halfway through the sandwich and you are left with a half bowl of onions. Let me help you picture a perfect description between the difference between night and day, black and white, old and new etc. It is the visual disparity between Panera's online item photography and what you actually get in your take-out bag. Okay, I used to do it for a living--enhanced product photography bordering on misrepresentation to drive up sales...BUT a bagged $13 sandwich that looks as if the often meager contents were thrown across the room at the bread and sort of almost missed. I kid you not. And this is aside from the often low-quality ingredients. I don't like criticizing kitchen help who are working hard for their wage but making a sandwich is not rocket-science. Organic tomato soup and free range bread bowls packed with chicken and other trending proteins are less appealing when competing with sticky tables and equally free range napkins on the floor. This East Windsor restaurant/store has been open for nearly a year now. Based on the last few times that we have gone here, and in comparison to the MetroPark and Hamilton Market Place--I have to conclude that this store is grossly MIS-managed! The food is good, but is pre-packaged. It also is never coordinated with the drinks or other food items at pick up. For those that are not familiar with Panera Bread, it has a quasi fast food set-up. Order at counter, find a table or seat (if you can find a clean spot), pick up food and specialty drinks (smoothies, lattes, etc.) at a kitchen counter. The East Windsor store has a poor layout. There always seems to be people in the way when you pick up your food. Lots of High School and College kids that do not seem well trained or motivated to work hard. But for the most part they seem to be good kids that want to do a good job but don't have the skills, training or management to do so. Panera Bread is not cheap. For the price, a customer should expect a clean dining room and not to have to clean up someone else's mess. In East Windsor, it is always hard to find a clean place to sit, and the bus stands are always full. Never a Panera employee taking care of the dining areas. Even McDonalds, a lot more reasonable, has employees that wipe down tables and empty the garbage cans and bus areas in the dining room. We will head to the store at Hamilton Market Place. This location is relatively new. I think it's about a year old. I've never had a negative experience here. My only issue is that some of the prices are high, especially for the portion size. But that doesn't apply to everything on the menu. I think the food is great and the menu is huge. Service is always good. Make sure you get their rewards card. It's totally worth it! read more

It was oddly constructed, given that the scrambled egg had a pointed end, it wasn't lined up that way when the sandwich was constructed, but I guess it was drive thru. I'm amazed that the people who work the drive-thru don't seem to know what is on the menu!, As you approach the drive-thru you see a very large poster featuring one of their breakfast specials: Chipotle Chicken, Scrambled Egg and Avocado on Ciabatta. Several times we have requested this item only to be told that there is no such breakfast special and that they do not serve chicken during the breakfast hours. The flatbread pizza sucked. First of all, it literally wasn't flat. It was way too doughy, with gloppy cheese, a few tomatoes, and like two pieces of basil on the whole pizza. The vegetable soup was also not good. It was kind of spicy and the portion was small. This is your typical panera chain restaurant. Honestly its a pricier fast food chain, but it is a better choice than your mcdonalds or burger king. I enjoy getting the you pick two- the frontega chicken panini and the fuji chicken salad. I enjoy the white balsamic vinagrette with blue cheese crumbles, pecans, onions, tomatoes, chicken, apple chips, and romaine lettuce with chips. The green tea is my favorite drink and the refills are free. The service is great. The staff brings the food to your table efficiently and quickly. I like that you can order from your mobile device or via the ipads they have in the front. I enjoy the free wifi, and this panera is a perfect place to bring your work. The bearclaw pastry is perfection, and absolutely delicious. My favorite soup is the turkey chili. Its my all time favorite, but unfortunately it is seasonal now. read more

We very rarely dine inside so this is mostly a review on their takeout service. They have a major issue with getting their orders right especially when it comes to soup. On a number of occasions we have gotten home to find that we have a different soup then the one we ordered. If you call to complain your only option is to go back to the store and get the correct soup. Which is ridiculous. They did recently start having a employee check the bags before giving them to the customer but I am not sure this is doing anything since this last time we had to point out a missing fruit cup and when we got home we also had the wrong soup. If you plan to order takeout here I would recommend checking everything in the bag for accuracy even if you have to take everything out to do so. read more

When I took it back to the counter, they just offered a new bowl of soup without even acknowledging the fact that there was a huge chicken piece in the soup. Did not answer the question whether the chicken piece fell in the soup pot or soup bowl. Only saving grace was that the manager came to talk to us and refunded the money for the soup and sandwich.
