The food and beverages are, I suppose, typical of any Panera location. This location is reliable in that way. However, restroom conditions have a large influence on my opinion of food establishments. On my most recent visit, last week, this location's men's room had a distinct ambiance and scent of dive bar. Mopping the residue of use into corners and leaving the buildup to accumulate depresses my appetite just recounting it. The Panera on Elmwood is pretty much the same as any other Panera. It's an easy meeting place for different groups and offers a wide range of items on the menu. I recently signed up for their new coffee subscription. Right now the subscription is free, but will start charging $8.99/month for unlimited coffee and tea beginning on 9/7/2020. This includes iced coffee as well! I'm excited for this deal since I live close to this Panera. Using the Panera app makes it super easy and quick to pick up my coffee on my to work. read more

I like this Panera bread because they have a free parking lot which is very convenient. I usually have good experiences with ordering in-store, but I had a bad experience with my rapid pick-up order. I did rapid pick-up and got a Bacon, egg and cheese brioche. I was disappointed to see my egg wasn't cooked all the way, and I don't mean like an over-easy egg, a bit of the egg whites inside were still a little liquid. And I am not a fan of not uncooked eggs. As other Yelpers have already said, this Panera is a good place to have a meeting if you're in Elmwood Village. I haven't used the private room in the back, but found the front room sufficient for a three-person meeting. It felt like there was enough space between the tables that we had enough privacy from other customers. Ideally, I'd rather go to a more local business, but the other nearby places like Spot are too loud for meetings. The food is consistent with other Panera locations. I will note that they make a pretty near perfect chocolate chip cookie in my opinion, generously sized and chewy, so those are hard to pass up when they're right by the registers. While waiting for our food, It was then we were informed that if you were to order one dozen bagels The folks behind the counter automatically throw in one extra bagel to make it a "Bakers Dozen." Five stars for Panera? Yes, but only for the service, ambiance, and drinks. I'm not impressed with the food, but if you're looking for a place to hang out, have a conversation where you can hear the other person, and sit by a warm fire in the back room or in the front room and look at the street scene on Elmwood, this is definitely the place. I wanted to love all the other coffee houses on Elmwood but they're uncomfortable and noisy. Frankly, I never would have expected that Panera would be my favorite place to meet a friend for tea, but it is. I'm not a regular at Panera Bread by any means and this is probably my second time eating it in the last few years, however now that I live close to Elmwood I decided to stop and pick up a quick lunch yesterday. This location is actually pretty awesome because it has a large section outside so you can sit and enjoy the nice summer weather. When I came in there wasn't much of a line so I was able to order my Buffalo Chicken flatbread pretty quickly. The staff was super friendly and I only had about a 4 minute wait before my food was served. Overall, Panera Bread is a very "you know what you are here for" type place. It's not the cheapest and it's not the best, but you'll always leave getting exactly what you came for. Elmwood panera is just so much worse than the other locations. The employees always seem like they hate their life and they can never manage to get orders correct. Way different than some of the other locations. Especially during covid it doesn't matter if it's lunch hour or they are super dead. Where do I start.....I have given this location many, many, many chances and they disappoint me in some way. Somethings are minor, such as forgetting the butter for my bread or in some cases, the bread itself. These are minor annoyances. What I can't deal with is not preparing my food properly. I absolutely loved the chicken Mediterranean bowl with extra hummus and feta. The first time I had it, it was delightful. The flavors were so balanced and my palette throughly enjoyed every bite.. That was the first and last time I throughly enjoyed that meal. The other times I've gotten it, it was incomplete in some way. Hummus missing, feta missing,the grains missing, something was always left out of the bowl, but this time.... totally unacceptable. HALF my bowl was full of humus. Typical chain but situated on the heart of the Elmwood Strip, next to the other not thought of as a chain but is a chain Spot Coffee and across from Globe Market. If you are looking for sandwich shop saturation you've found it. As I've stated in other reviews the benefit of the chain is that you can get the same food you would anywhere as their menu rarely changes outside of seasonal adjustments. You could even say the corporation was kind by not trying to make themselves more communal and artsy to be a better fit. Sitting here you know you're in Panera. A few of my disappointments with this location is that the parking lot is small for it being for shared use, especially with the lot across the street being built up and once in homogeneous use parking will become even more difficult in this already tight area. The other disappointment is the crowd that comes here. Often times you will find this location packed with college students cramming for class or after school you'll find the various packs of Nardin, Nicholas or St Joe's students roving around, wasting space and using the little to non-existent WiFi. Lastly of which is my last disappointment. I generally don't rely upon or fight for bandwidth, I'm fine with using my unlimited data plan but in an age of smart technology were our devices sense and latch onto any signal they find, the fact that the WiFi service here is terrible doesn't help the cause. Mostly I find this as having trouble connecting to or if by chance you end up connected you are easily dropped. read more

I came here around noon on a Tuesday. Pros: It's off a busy street but there is a parking lot for customers. There were about 2 spots open when I came. Ample seating. The quiet study area overlooking Elmwood was probably my favorite feature. Fast service and my broccoli cheddar soup was delicious.
