Unfortunately, I have to give this location specifically 1 star based on their service alone. This has to be the slowest Panera Bread I've ever come across. Place an online order and it says it's supposed to be ready 5 minutes later. Arrive 25 minutes later because I know better than to believe that at this establishment and it's still not ready. How is that okay? Last weekend they were out of bagels at 8:30 AM. I am not sure how this location is still in business. Some time last year they were out of cream cheese for months. Out of cream at cheese and they specialize in serving bagels. How??? I filed a complain with Panera corporate because this is just unacceptable. read more

I love Panera Bread. I have pretty good timing with this particular outlet. I seem to arrive immediately prior to the huge swath of people who want food. I was the only person in line when I arrived. :-) I usually get the turkey artichoke and the chicken noodle soup as my "you pick two" but this time, I decided to try something different. The macaroni and cheese. The cashier was super nice enough to let me get a small chicken noodle soup and a small macaroni and cheese as my "you pick two" and I got a potato chips to spare. Of course I sat down and tried to do a little work on the ol' computer with the free Panera wi-fi. As I sat there, the line grew and grew until it was almost out the door. Good job Panera! Sling those soups and sandwiches. As long as I am already sitting down with my food, the line can get as long as it wants to. I love Panera's. This location is right down the road from my job and you can usually find me here at least 2 days out of every week. In the fall, they had an Autumn Squash soup that's was divine, like a liquid lollipop. I came here everyday for that soup until they stopped carrying it because the season was over. My favorites are the hot Panini's, French onion soup and the green tea. I like that they have a "Panera VIP" card where I accumulate points & then receive coupons for $$ off a pick 2 or $1 off a pastries. Lunch time (between 12-2pm) is their busiest period, expect to wait at least 10-15 from standing in line to actually receiving your food. But when you do, the food is good. I haven't eaten anything from here that I haven't liked yet. Great customer service & food every time. read more

I love Panara Bread just not this location. This is by far the worst location. I did a rapid pick-up order this past Wednesday and it wasn't ready. On top of that I had to wait in line behind 7 other people. This totally defeated the purpose of the online platform. Then I called the manager the next day and he told me to call today so that he could make it right. Called today and I was left on hold for more than fifteen minutes. No one picked up the phone and reassured me that I wasn't forgotten about just dead silence. This is a sign that they don't care about there customers. This is a franchise so I wouldn't go to any of the establishments that this franchisee owns. read more

First off, this Panera Bread is NOT in Bowie, Maryland. The panera bread website lists an incorrect city and zip code. This location is Lanham, Maryland 20706. ~~@~~ I've been to several Paneras, in several states. They all are good and very consistent. The coffee is always good, and not overpriced. I enjoy the soups and my favorite sandwich is the Chicken Caesar sandwich on multi-grain bread. The in house potato chips are very good and not greasy. This location on MLK Hwy/MD-704 used to have slow service especially in the mornings even when it wasn't crowded. But that issue was corrected a few months ago and now it operates with quick service all the time, which is especially important at lunch time because all Paneras get wicked crowded for lunch. Despite the daunting lunchtime line, the chain has its act together because they get you through lightening fast. This site is always clean. A lot of meetings seem to take place here. More adult and business clientele than teens or students. And it's true you'll often see a police 'convention'. read more

I don't generally leave bad reviews because I know all places have an off day but this is by far the worst consistent experience at a Panera I've ever had. At least once a week I come here on break to pick up food for my coworkers. Everyday I put the time for at least 30 minutes earlier than when I know I will arrive because I know they take a while for rapid pick ups. Each and every time it's at least an extra 15 minute wait. This doesn't sound like much, but on a rush to get back to work on break it's so stressful. No one is helpful and almost everyone I've encountered is rude and over their job. Let me go back 3 weeks or so ago. I ordered a sandwich and not only did I get the wrong one, I got one that had almonds in it. The problem was not that the sandwich was wrong, the problem was that, I'm allergic to almonds. The could have been catastrophic for me. Luckily my co-worker switched with me. Fast forward today. I ordered a Rapid Pick-up, half soup, half salad, I drive to 15 minutes to get there and expected the order to be waiting for me like it always is. Not today. Today as I waited for them to make my order, I waited 15 more minutes and finally one of the cashiers asked me if I need assistance. I advised her that I had ordered, showed her my order on my phone and she could not find it. well 15 to 20 minutes later I'm still waiting for my order and finally when I asked to speak to a manager, she says "Oh, here it goes" In total, I should not have had to wait almost an hour after I ordered my meal to receive it. Clean on the outside, nothing special to say about the inside. There's a store full of people working and not one bagel available at noon and 1/4 of their pastry window was all that was filled. The sandwich I ordered was just thrown in a wrapper, it was so messy I had to reconstruct it myself. and They gave me a wet bag so some of my food fell out. Most Panera's are all the same. This one is a little lower on my scale just because when we entered it was somewhat of a mess. The tables were not clean and the kitchen area looked like a hurricane had been through there....one of the downsides of having an open kitchen. The one good thing about the location is that despite going at 8pm, they still had a significant number of bakery items including the pumpkin muffies that everyone treasures and multiple cookies and bagels. The staff was also friendly and very quick to get the food. read more

Historically I haven't been the biggest fan of Panera. I've been to various locations over the years though because for some reason many of my friends find it very appealing. Until recently, my favorite item on the menu has been the soft serve/frozen lemonade that's only available during the summer. In the past I've tried many of their salads and sandwiches but haven't been blown away. But to be fair, I'm not the biggest sandwich lover. At any rate, I stopped in this location and ordered the classic salad with the brocoli cheese soup. It was fantastic. Broccoli cheese soup is one of my favorites too so I know a good bowl of it when I taste it. The salad was fresh and the balsamic vignette dressing was just right. Not to sweet nor too tangy. The location was clean and quiet. I found a table with no problems and stayed for nearly an hour. I used my computer but had my own wifi device so I can't speak for Panera's free wifi. read more

Great customer service and the staff is always very friendly and polite. Very clean and no flies buzzing around the pastries! I literally always get the Green Goddess Salad and a Cheese Brittany...omg...gives me my entire life! AND they dont skimp on the dressing or look at you sideways when you ask for extra! I have never had good customer service at this location. That's not an exaggeration. I have gone to this Panera four or five times, and each time there has been a problem. If I order curbside pickup, I have to wait forever, call about the order, and then deal with an employee with an attitude. If no one ever brings out the food or answers the phone, I have to go inside to pick it up. Every time I have walked inside the restaurant, I've been ignored by the employees. I have to flag someone down to address the issue. Today was the last straw. I placed a mobile order, as I always do, and it was for Rapid Pickup. That "rapid" part was a joke. I got to the restaurant, and there were no orders on the Rapid Pickup shelves. I stood by the counter for a few minutes as multiple employees walked past me without saying anything. (Typical.) I finally stopped someone and told them I was there to pick up my order, but my order wasn't where it was supposed to be. She told me she couldn't help me because she was taking orders. I needed to wait by the register. OK, so I walked to the register and waited. Again, multiple employees walked past me without saying anything. A tallish skinny girl with really long braids stood within less than a foot from me and never said a word. I finally walked over to the line where orders were being assembled and called out to another employee to address my missing order. She told me that the order, or at least the ticket for it, was there. They had run out of one of the ingredients (a bagel), so they hadn't actually made my sandwich. (And common sense didn't kick in for anyone to call me? When that has happened at other restaurants they would call about the order. That includes other Paneras.) And now I'm fuming. She asks if I want the sandwich or a refund. Refund, please! AND THIS ISN'T EVEN THE END OF IT. She refunds the money. But after I left, I realized that she didn't refund the full amount. So, I called Panera customer service, and after another long wait, the rep tells me that it looks like they had charged me for extra meat for the sandwich but hadn't refunded it. (And that also means the sandwich would have been missing an ingredient if they had bothered to make it.) This restaurant is a franchise, the rep said, and the franchise customer service is not open on the weekend. So, I have to wait one or two business days for someone to call me back to refund the full amount of an order that I never received, that was never even prepared. Absolutely ridiculous. If I wasn't pissed, I would marvel at the epic ineptitude that this was from start to finish. read more

Use the Bowie town center location, they can 1. manage to get an online order correct 2. Get the order to the right spot for pickup 3. The Broccoli Cheddar soup was horrible. The worst I've ever had in all my years of going to Panera in various locations. Watery and thin and basically not soup just broth. The flavor was there, but it was not cheesy and not thick what so ever, hardly can call it soup. There is major inconsistency and a lack of efficiency at this location which is really a bummer. Especially, during the evening hours. When I think of a Bowie, I think of top tier and they are not doing what needs to be done to fit the bill. The staff overall seem young and inexperienced and need better training or managers that make sure they are meeting high expectations. The cashiers are usually pleasant and get the order correct, but overall there is a lack of urgency to tend to customers. There is too much talking for my liking when my food is being made and hard to tell if the staff are paying attention. Do what you're supposed to do. That's all a person can ask for. read more

This location is the best Panera in the area, hands down. I come here to work several times a week and I always have a good experience. The food is well-prepared and the staff is friendly, professional, and helpful. Example: I only drink dark roast and they were out, but an employee just hunted down the last pack, found me and told me she would make a pot. Awesome! The general manager leads a great team. I love coming here for breakfast and that's about it. I'm not a big fan of Panera's other options, but the experience I have at breakfast is definitely worth 4 stars. I get 2 Cinnamon Crunch bagels toasted with butter and a small organize juice. The total meal cost less than $6 which is pretty cheap for a breakfast spot. The Cinnamon crunch bagel is just oh so good! This is perfect breakfast spot that I frequent often on my way to work. I love it! read more

The bad news is that I don't know if they've crippled their Wi-Fi or what's going on, but I was there today to do some online course work and have a snack and the connection was so poor I had to give up and leave. It wouldn't even connect to my school's website and even a basic Google search took three tries and almost two minutes to return results. And I specifically went during off-peak, around 3:00 pm. There were only four other people with tablets or laptops; I asked one about her connection and she told me that she wasn't online, so load should not have been a problem. I had high hopes for this Panera as the restaurant is normally my go-to when things get tough and I can't focus on my homework. I came to this location and ordered my food for rapid pick-up (I don't understand with the amount of tables they have why ordering from your table isn't an option but I digress). I ordered my food and waited for the time it was to be ready so I could grab it and eat. It was supposed to be ready at 7:29 pm and at this point I'd already checked 3 times for my food as the restaurant slowed and no one was in line, I figured mine would be next. 10 minutes after my food was supposed to be ready I went to the counter to check on my food only to find it had been sitting in a cutting board in the prep station instead of the rapid pick up shelf. I'm not a person to send food back unless it's inedible so I didn't. But my soup and sandwich were barely warm so no telling how long it'd been on that counter. The only reason I gave two stars is because my cookie was hot when I got it, and the only pleasurable part of my meal. read more
