Why have I never rated my local Panera as much as I've been here. Keeping it short and simple - of all the locations in the Bowie vicinity this one is by far my favorite. We decided to stop here for lunch. It is in the corner of a shopping center so there is plenty of parking although it may not be in front or close to the store. It was pretty busy when we got there at lunchtime. You order at the counter and they call your number when your order is ready. The restaurant was a little dirty but it might be because of the volume of traffic that they seemed to have. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly and was good. This Panera is super convenient for me, as I can stop here on the way to church or on the way home. It's also very easy to get in and out of the parking lot, so I can just shoot over here to grab a quick salad during lunch on a hectic day. So, the folks that work here are always super friendly. I mean, they see me almost every Sunday for my coffee (or caramel latte, extra caramel) and chocolate chip bagel with cream cheese, OR spinach and bacon soufflé - which is to die for!!! The side sandwich with cheese and tomato does not have enough cheese to cover the bread. $5 for two slices of bread and cheese, come on. Took it back to remake Panera adds more cheese and now only three little tomatoes. This place is low quality. The current management should find a new career. I can't give a 5 star because they have messed up my rapid pick up but I will say they took care of me after I called and replaced my order. Chris and another female manger took care of me. I recommend the rapid pickup just double check your good typically morning, lunch and dinner the lines are pretty long. This Panera Bread is pretty nice. It's nestled on the corner (not noticeable from street view) the same shopping center as the Shoppers. I find it to be a very nice study location. I love the online ordering option you just pick up your bag on the counter to the left when you enter the store. This place is pretty ok to me. I am disappointed at the way the treated us for an order of 12 lunches. They missed two lunches, made my coworker wait after we did a rapid pick up, we're absolutely arrogant when we called them to inform them about the missed order and more so did not give us a receipt when we reached to pick up the order. I am human too and understand that there can be errors however we would have appreciated a polite apology as opposed to stating, "we cannot do much, we receive 1000s of orders and such errors are common human errors". Tonight is a cold and blustery night in the DMV so what would hit the spot right now but some soup so I stopped into Panera Bread for some Sonoma chicken stew & a salad (my favorite) I walked into Panera only to be greeted by Kayla with a scowl on her face & when I greeted her she gave me a half of smirk and a mumble of a greeting. When asked about new menu items, the Mediterranean salmon salad or the salmon sandwich I was told I haven't had it & I only stick to what I like...in what restaurant universe do they not do tastings? I ordered Panera Bread for the first time, ever. I ended up getting the BBQ salad. I ate most of it before I came across a small SCREW ... YES! A SCREW! I was disgusted! I emailed corporate and called the location. I am still waiting to hear from corporate but when I called the location, the manager said I could come back to get a replacement. Can't go wrong with Panera. They have options kids and adults will enjoy! I usually do the pick two. Sandwich and soup combo or sandwich and salad combo. Their broccoli cheddar soup and the corn chowder are both good. The Thai Chicken and the Green Goddess are both good salads. I've only had the Tuna salad sandwich and the Frontega sandwich. Both are always good. But I'm sure all their sandwiches are popular. The kids like their Mac and Cheese and it comes with yogurt sticks. Kind of like Go-gurts. My friends and I came here after a hard day at work. We were tired, famished, and full of lactic acid. I ordered a salad with bread but was served a sandwich and chips. I did ask for my order to be changed, but I still received the sandwich and chips. I asked for a cup for water--usually free at most Paneras--but was charged for a soft drink. My friend ordered a bread bowl but was instead served two sides of baguette instead--not the same as a sourdough bread bowl. I don't blame the workers at this particular Panera, but this is the worst Panera experience I've had in a long time. I spent almost every afternoon for the past three years sitting at Panera (albeit a different location), and until today, I've always had a great experience. I continue to give this place a 3 star rating based mostly on the distracted staff. Management tries hard and they're the friendly and competent ones but the people at the cash register are distracted and seem more interested in each other than the customer right in front of them. One example: I wanted a cookie with the meal I ordered and it wasn't right up front at the cash register. The guy taking my order said he would get it for me from the bakery section (big plus) but then when he was done taking my money he started to make himself a cup of coffee. He had completely forgotten about the cookie ! For the last two days we have ordered twice from Panera's on MLK and each time the orders were messed up. The Baja Chicken bowl and Brocolli Chicken bowls were both bowls were half full of ingredients. Paying the amount of money for these bowls, one should at least get one's money worth. That was the first day and one the second day, did not receive what was ordered; instead of tuna, we got the chicken salad. This is very disappointing to order food and get home to be disappointed the orders were not correct. I would have given this a 3.5 if I were able based on my frequent visits. However, my cashier Chantelle, was a pleasant surprise because the cashiers typically have no personality. She was patient and helped me look through a binder to determine the sodium content and sugar content of various menu items. Whoa!
