Slow slow service in the drive thru! They don't offer to have people pull out of line that are waiting for their food so if you order in advance, you'll sit in line for 20 minutes just to get your food in the drive-through. And of course by then it's cold. They absolutely have a terrible system of getting cars through the drive-through. read more

my daughter went to Pinera and ordered 3 of the 2 match meals. we ordered 2 of the cranberry Chicken 1/2 sandwiches, 1 Tuna Salad 1/2 sandwich, 1 Holiday Medley Salad and 2 cups of Broccoli Cheese soup. First they shorted us a Broccoli Cheese soup, then the sandwiches had a small dollop of ingredients where 3/4 was only dry bread! The entire meals were terrible! when we called then about the missing soup they told me I would have a free soup for my trouble! How is it free when I already paid for it? Btw the bill was $43! Went to Panera in Aiken. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad which was on the board at $7.38. I got charged $8.68 as the lower price was only for the pick 2 menu. But the higher price is nowhere on the board so you don't know the $7.38 is not what you are paying. And there was hardly any chicken in there. My wife got a bowl, not a cup, a bowl of soup. The soup was not hot. More importantly there was so little in the bowl that we got a soup cup and poured the entire contents of the bowl into the cup. The "bowl" did not fill up the cup. Also, we were sticking to the floor as it was not clean. The woman at the register got us a bowl of hot soup but there wasn't much to be happy about. We are done going there. read more

The autumn squash soup is to die for, if you're into cinnamon & creamy butternut squash sprinkled with roasted pumpkin seeds. My go to sandwich choice is the chipotle chicken avocado melt with the sweet little peppers & creamy avocado. And of course the passion fruit papaya iced green tea is stellar as well! 10/10 recommend for a quick pickup lunch option for working folks. I came here twice to get take-out during the Memorial Day weekend, both times I had a good experience. The front-desk purchase was quick and easy, both workers were polite and expeditious in taking my order. The restaurant was slow at the time, so my wait was nil. One time I ordered a Take 2, a caprese sandwich and a broccoli cheddar soup. The second time was a full caprese sandwich. Both orders came out proper, in a reasonable wait-time, and the soup on the first order was hot (Well, not piping hot, but it wasn't cold or luke-warm either. Temperature was as expected). The sandwich was made both times properly. The ingredients were fresh and tasted flavorful. When I arrived, the dining area in both occasions looked clean, orderly. There were a few people there and they all looked rested and casual. Given that it was a holiday weekend and it's blazing hot outside (Hot damn, summer came to SC early!!), I guess a lot of people are on vacation and others probably don't think, "Hey, let's go outside to eat at Panera!". So anyways, glad to see the local Panera is managed well and the workers are doing a good job. I will patron again. read more

Today I was given a plastic spoon to go with my soup. I'm sure that seems trivial, but when in the past ten years we've consumed more plastic than in the past century, I think our plastic waste is an important issue. To add to that 50% of all plastic is used ONCE before being thrown away. No surprise considering places like our local Panera don't have a place for recycling. When I asked why they were using plastic cutlery now, the response I was given was "Oh we just don't have any clean silverware right now." I am usually a fan of Panera Bread and have enjoyed salads, pastries and coffee at many of their locations however, the Aiken store seems to be coasting downhill. My visit was last Friday, around 9a. There was one staff behind the counter although 5-6 customers waiting for service. The young lady was friendly but seemed over her head. She did not know whether they had whole milk or exactly what types of milk they had. Once I received my coffee drink I learned there was no Splenda anywhere in the store. A customer behind me in line ordered regular coffee only to learn most of the self-service urns were empty. I've been coming here off and on for the last 6 months. Portions sizes are a gray area, sometimes it's ok, and a lot of times not. I come mostly for the salads. However, they don't give you enough dressing and sometimes not enough salad. I purchased a large salad that had 2 small cups of dressing. I poured them into one and it still did not fill the one cup. For the taste of different dishes, one should try them for themselves, for obvious reasons. The staff is pleasant and friendly. Training or outcome of dishes is "iffy", and in my opinion, is dependent on the crew doing the service at the time. Usually, they are not bad, but when you are hungry and receive a child's portion that is not what's stated, will tick you off. read more

one star is still too much for this place. I ordered online. They delivered 3 out of 4 items. Missing was a cup of coffee. I called the restaurant and was told it was not their problem to contact doordash. I explained to the manager I ordered from them online and not doordash. I requested they just refund my $2.09 coffee. The manager said he could not do that and doordash should refund the money. The manager was rude and needs some training. The Panera website lets an order be placed online so the issue is with them and not doordash. I called doordash who said I needed to have the merchant call so I wound up calling panera back. I told the manager doordash would not speak with me because I was not the merchant. The manager then advised the general manager was calling doordash. I asked the general manager to return my call since the manager did not know what to to do. Out of frustation I called the corporate office for Panera who advised he will let the Aiken site know to refund my money and I was correct that they should have handled since the order was placed with them online website. Now I have to wait 10 days for a $2.09 refund. Think twice before ordering online. I guess customer is always right is not true at this panera bread. read more

I was wondering is someone can explain how Panera can send me a message telling me that I have enough points for a soup - but nobody at the restaurant can verify that. Or how I can pick up my weekly bagels and be told that I have enough points for a free one and do I want it now and then realize that I paid for it when I looked at the receipt. Although Panera has its ups and downs, the people that work there work very hard. A lot of clientele that come there are snobbish, rude, and extremely entitled, and believe that it is okay to treat food service workers like garbage just because they can. Panera is still technically 'fast food', people go there and think just because it has a nicer interior than most fast food places that it isn't fast food. IT IS. And now with covid Panera has been extremely busy, and it is okay for them to make mistakes. People easily forgive companies like Mcdonald's or Wendy's because "that is fast food", but so is Panera. As a regular customer I enjoy seeing all of these employees, even on their bad days. People make mistakes and so do businesses. Maybe try to be more considerate when going places. read more

The service at this store is horrible. My wife placed a order online. A simple order at that, a family bowl of soup and bread. Sounds super easy. She showed up 15 mins later after placing the order and was told to wait. She waited 40 mins until her order was ready. For soup. Really. She took the order and when she got home we found the bread to be hard as a rock. Like it had been left out over night. The soup was burning hot like the soup was way over cooked. I was so mad I called the store and was just put on hold. No one would pick up. I tried to call back later and was again just put on hold. My wife and I hit a Panera 2 to 3 times a week. We know the food and our kids like it. We will NOT return to this store, clearly they do not have the same standards as the other stores. read more
