I don't know if they don't want dine in business or what but I went in two days in a row and walked out both times. First day I walked in and there were about two tables with customers and the rest of the tables except one had dirty dishes still uncleaned. The one of the two tables appeared to be an employee on break eating. No one else was doing anything except for a short lady running around trying to get to go orders ready. Three other guys were just standing around doing nothing. I sat there for about five minutes with not one of them even trying to look at me. So I walked out and ate somewhere else. I came in the next day thinking maybe they'd just gotten slammed. The food is pretty decent but generic Chinese food after all and there's not a big selection in Alpine. The exact same thing happened except this time at least the tables were clean. Two tables sat with customers. Multiple employees standing around except the same lady running around. Again had to get up and walk out because no one even tried to come get even a drink order. I'll be back because like I said, the selection is pretty limited and I'll update the rating if service is better next time. read more

Spent 20mins waiting in the restaurant after paying for food and ordering almost an hour before. Then received the wrong order.

My wife and I Ordered 2 orders of House special "Chow Fun" ( wide rice noodles stir fried with chicken, beef, Shrimp, Scallions, Onions and bean sprouts) The noodles taste very delicious, I wanted Thai style food and it met my expectations the only thing I wish or should of asked for was more spice it was mild and I like my food spicy. We ordered (1) order of Salt and pepper chicken wings. They're wings are so juicy and have a spicy kick to them they are definitely addicting and we will be back for more. The last thing we ordered was the "Lemon Roll" I personally like sushi with lemon slices on them. The lemon roll called my name: Inside:Spicy tuna and cucumber Outside: spicy tuna and crunchy tempura flakes I was not impressed with this roll, it's a basic roll it didn't make my taste buds jump out of my mouth but I don't waste food. Overall I really like panda machi it is very inexpensive for really good quality food, the workers are very nice. This is my east county go too for Asian.I say Asian as they are equally adept at standard American/Chinese faire and Japanese sushi.I'm not giving a 5 out of 5 stars strictly for what I would consider an egregious raising of prices,menu wide for what should be a family affordable small town restaurant.Just because "Everybody's doing it,"doesn't make it okay.My service has been about 50/50 over the years and sometimes there has been some language barrier hurdles,but nothing worth bagging on them for.I've had nearly everything on the menu and it's pretty much exactly what your anticipating in your head how it will taste.I will give a special shout out to the fried rice,it seems to be more savory and skillfully rendered then most,don't be afraid to order it as "The meal."Also I'd like to commend the kitchen staff,as they never give me grief about ordering off menu,or making things spicy that aren't or leaving something out that's normally in .Great portion size! One big bummer that's not really their fault is the parking situation.The lot is ridiculously small,has one way traffic,and smaller than standard spaces.I can't honestly recommend coming near this place Friday or sat.night at standard dinner times.If worse comes to worse there are a limited number of Kinda sketchy spots on Alpine Blvd;but they are unlit and in loading zones.I highly recommend coming here off hours on off days if you can. read more

My whole family and I have been going here for years and this year they have been nothing but disappointment never coming here again. Along with other problems I have been having with them this is my recent problem - this is nasty waste of my money I am also pregnant and can't be eating uncooked food. I've always gotten this roll and never looked like this. I came here for lunch. It was open on Memorial Day at 11 am. We got here 15 minutes early and waited. We were their first customers as we entered. We got to sit anywhere inside so we picked a table near the window. We were given menus and waters to drink. As I looked through their menu, they had lunch specials starting at $5.95. I went with the $7.95 special which was a bento box type that comes with salad, one entree and a side along with rice. I went with teriyaki chicken, and cream cheese wontons which came with rice and salad. Portions are big. I also ordered a Philadelphia roll. Not bad. It tasted okay. Teriyaki chicken was tender and soft but it was drowned in the sauce which made it salty. I didn't care for that because I kept digging in my steamed rice to get rid of that salty flavor. Salad was fresh and crisp. My favorite was the cream cheese wontons. So good. I could eat this alone. Food was descent and not mind blowing. Service was good by our waitress. Very nice and efficient when clearing our table when we were done. There's plenty of seating inside. Cozy place with flat screen televisions up so you can watch sports. Haven't utilized Panda Machi's service in 6 months, but the have it down.
