This previously mediocre Chinese place has become wonderful since taken over by the former owners of Butterfly in Hadley. The Gourmet menu has delicious dishes from several regions of China made carefully and without the sweetness which plagues many low calibre places. The homestyle dumplings are great. The Szechuan dishes have some real heat and complexity and the whole fish preparations are standouts. read more

Waited 40 minutes with 3 hungry kids for food to show up cold. Waitress's hands were shaking so bad she spilled our drinks. She was dirty, so was our silverware, I really didn't want her touching our stuff. It was freezing in the restaurant and we were no where near the door. Four of us were placed at a table meant for 2. When I complained she said "your kids are small, you can work it out". There were other tables but we were denied. My kids were not disruptive so that wasn't an issue. I won't be back. read more

We had a very bad experience with delivery. The delivery address was only five minutes from the restaurant. We called three times and finally received our order one hour and forty minutes later. The spring rolls had lost their spring and the food was tasteless. This was especially disappointing as it was part of a birthday celebration. I ate in at Panda Garden once and it was quite good. But just had a really bad order-in experience. They forgot to send any rice and the Singapore Mei Fun was inedible - the curry powder was not mixed into the noodles at all and there were clumps of curry powder sitting on top off the noodles. prices were pretty misleading. apparently ordered off the luncheon menu online where meals were listed around $7 ea. ended up paying around $35 for three meals. yikes! once called for delivery to haydenville and an angry man told me "it would take 30 hour to deliver" a friend once canceled a telephone order within a minute of placing it and was told "never call here again" also everything i got tasted.....old?? read more

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a resturant. I phoned in an order and was told 15 mins. I arrived to pick up my order and was greeted by a gentleman on the phone juggling two different customers. I overheard him telling them to call back, he didn't have time to take their order. There were only two customers in the resturant at the time. I asked him if I could get something to drink while I was waiting. He cut me off and ran into the kitchen and did not return for 20 mins. In the meantime another customer came in to pick up take out and shook his head saying "this place has gone down hill". when my order came out the guy looked in the bag, asked me again what I had and then took my bag of food back in the kitchen. 5 mins later he came out with my food. I never did get something to drink. When I got the food home the order was wrong and the food was absolutely tasteless. I had ordered chicken lo mein. My husband and I counted 3 small pieces of chicken in the entire order. Rice was missing from our order and the egg rolls were cardboard. I called to complain about the experience and was told "Don't worry about it". It was my first and LAST time in this resturant. Don't go! read more

Order off the gourmet menu, you can't go wrong. This out-of-the-way restaurant makes some of the best authentic Chinese food you can get in this part of Massachusetts. Personal favorites: the shredded pork with dry tofu and celery, and the stuffed eggplant. Yum. read more

I eventually returned because of convenience, and was very sorry I did. I had to use the rest room, which smelled like urine and was filthy in every possible way; not a good sign for the overall commitment to cleanliness and care for the customer. In such a small town, I would not expect such great food - but it is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to. The food is fresh, cooked to perfection, and so delicious. I'm a Manhattan resident, and get great food in Chinatown here. Was visiting a friend in Williamsburg, who took us here. My vegetarian 16 yr. old daughter love the fake chicken dish, I loved the tofu dish, and the salty dried squid appetizer. All in all, an excellent meal. Up to snuff with the best NYC has to offer. I have always driven out of town for my Chinese food because I was hesitant to come here, due to the reviews. The food here was better than the restaurant I've been traveling to for the past 10 years! The food was of high quality ingredients, loaded with beautiful vegetables, and perfectly flavorful. The seating was comfy, the casual atmosphere was charming, and so was our waiter. We ordered lunch specials that came out of the kitchen fast, with soup, and generous proportions (we had left-overs to bring home) for surprisingly inexpensive prices. Wonderful Chinese restaurant just minutes west of Northampton, in Williamsburg. It is the best in the Valley. The important tip is to order off the Sichuan menu. It is totally different from the standard menu. I have been there many times, and never been disappointed. We particularly like the stuffed tofu, salted spicy shrimp with heads, cold tofu with scallion sauce, wontons with hot chilly oil, steamed fish (more on the mild side), Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce, and I could go on and on. The vegetables are fresh and cooked just right. Portions are generous. It is definitely worth driving 15 minutes from downtown Northampton to get some really good food. read more

They also have lots of fantastic vegan/vegetarian options available for the non-meat eaters in your group. Panda Garden in Williamsburg is under new management. We ordered online tonight. The food arrived at the right time, nice and hot and delicious! Their white rice is fabulous - different than most, chewy with a bit of the hull still on. We also had pork fried rice, General Tso's Chicken and Pork in Garlic Sauce. The spring rolls are nice and crunchy and not too fat with cabbage. I highly recommend the new Panda Garden. read more
