So I just left the store in Watauga, Texas and asked how fresh the food was as it was horrible on my previous visit. Daisy informed me there was too much in the pan to make a fresh order but it wasn't very fresh. I asked when do they dump it at what time and she said I quote- " we just wait until it looks old and disgusting before we toss it"?!?! I asked her what is the time limit and she said there wasn't one. I know for a fact this is not true. She continued to say there was no limit- it was based on how much was left and dismissed me. Panda Express used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant chain....until I discovered Pei Wei. They're about the same price, but Pei Wei has so much higher quality it's ridiculous. Panda is basically the McDonald's compared to Pei Wei's In-n-Out. Don't get me wrong....I love, love, love Panda Express' chow mein, orange chicken and mandarin chicken. Kung Pao chicken was also good, but I ate one of the peppers on it one time and it was BY FAR the spiciest thing I've ever tasted. (I literally cried my eyes out because of a pepper, and I never cry because of spice.) Basically, it's definitely good if you want a quick Asian food fix, but I'd recommend Pei Wei over them every time. read more

Cannot handle the volume. This store is always out of something - especially teriyaki chicken, or short staffed and closes the dining room, forcing the drive-thru to be bottlenecked and the traffic in the area gets really bad. Yes the food is good when you get it, and most of the staff are nice, but this place is really hit and miss. Mostly miss because they are so slow when they get busy... you drive by and see a dozen cars and think no thanks. But then you go when they aren't busy and they are out of items. This summer I bought a 3 entrees meal and my card was overcharged - I went back to get a refund and was interrogated, only to receive some free plate coupons. This place seems to be going downhill!!! We went there for lunch. We wanted to get Chinese food. The manager lady was rude. She thought my husband wanted to try the new ribs. He wanted new ribs. She said 5 mins. She pretended not to hear us. Also we went to the Chinese cashier was rude during the whole transaction. We had to ask her for chopsticks and hot sauce. We would not come back to this location. Too much rudeness and we asked if you can eat here. The manager didnt answer us. Another customer at the register had to ask again. She finally said you cant eat inside. This Panda Express has its ups and downs. I have had really good Kung Pao chicken and really bad KPC here. I think it has to do in how long after a batch is made that you place your order. They make 2-gallon batches of the food at a time instead of cooking to order. I like the veggie mix in the KPC and it is spicy enough to get your attention. The veggie spring rolls sit under a heat lamp after frying a batch, so again, the quality of the food depends on when you get there. AVOID the drive-through! One of ever 3 orders has been wrong. Go inside and there is never a problem. The food here could easily be on the 3-4 star level if they cooked food to order. read more

Not the best Chinese food, it's actually worse than those Mom & Pop places in the food courts at the mall. At least at those places you can taste the freshness in the food. At Panda "Express" the drive-thru is top priority. You can rush and beat that person getting out of their car to be first in line at the counter, but sadly you will be waiting until the line gets to the door. Then an employee behind the counter might consider talking to you. Once you get someones attention they ask what you would like. There is always an abundance of fried rice and chow mien, but if you want steamed it isn't always prepared. Get past this part if you are lucky and you find they don't have anymore of the entree you want because that lady in the drive-thru ordering for a family of 6 just got it all. Now you must wait on some more to be made. Another hassle because there is only one wok in use at a time. So you must wait for the entree's turn in line because the kitchen is so small. Everything that is out already you have no idea how long it has been sitting there. This place is like Chipotle, the food is never hot. Even if you eat it there. This place is really expensive for what you get and with all the traffic and overcharging they are doing they should of at least upgraded the kitchen and business model by now. Panda has been one of the first restaurants in the area and it hasn't changed anything besides the dining room which looks the same and has the same layout. This place seriously needs an upgrade and expansion to keep up with it's growing surroundings. I dont have anything pending dishes and my order is complete. why would i wait to pay? Food... Your typical panda express tasted exactly as you would have guessed. Atmosphere... Nice lay out your typical cookie cut panda decor. The floor had a big wets spot not sure why maybe someone dropped a drink or such. They seem too busy to mop it up. It was basically the 2nd dinner crowd and I think they was cycling workers off to break. There was a good crowd and thats always a good sign. Conclusion... The staff needs to be better... there should be no confusion at the cashier side. If there is a spill they should send someone to clean it up proper... its not safe to ignore it. They had 2 staff to handle the line... and one cook and a manager. You expect when someone takes a break they could hold it together... not so. I'll eat here again but it wont be my first choice for fast chinese. read more

This used to be the best Panda Express around our house, but the past couple of times they have messed up left and right. First of all their drive thru is always slow and it takes forever to order and then forever to get your food (I think they are under staffed). My husband and I normally get the same thing every time and the last two times they mixed up our side item. This time we ordered online thinking this would help, and save time, but it didn't. We ordered the sweet fire chicken and instead we got the green bean chicken, and to top it all of there was way more green beans then chicken. There was only like 7 little pieces of chicken and the rest green beans. Wow. This is the 2nd time I ordered the teriyaki chicken, & I get home and there is no teriyaki sauce. The chicken is completely dry without the sauce. The first time I ordered it and they didn't put it in the bag I called and they told me, sorry we ran out of the little cups to put the sauce in. I said why didn't you tell me? They had no response. Then this evening my husband brings the food home and surprise surprise, no teriaki sauce for the chicken. I drive all the way back there and politely tell them what happened, and don't even get 1 apology. This place sucks. Worst customer service ever. Will never eat here again. When I ordered through the drive-thru, they were out of the chicken that I ordered and politely asked if I didn't mind waiting about 5 minutes until they cooked some fresh. I told them no, I didn't want to wait, I didn't have time to wait because I was in a hurry, that's why I chose fast food, drive thru. I had to order something else, the steak, which was extra. They told me when I ordered that it was extra, which was nice. I think since you were out of what I wanted, they should have given me the other for the same price. But anyway, I pull up and pay. Then I sit and wait 4 min. in the drive thru anyway, and that was only counting the time after I paid. I made it clear I didn't want to wait, then I paid extra, didn't really get what I had wanted in the first place, and still waited. Ridiculous! Finally, another girl comes to the window and asks me if I'm waiting for vegetables. I don't know what the hell I'm waiting for, I didn't want to wait in the first place. I had a whole order/plate of food, not just vegetables. No one told me I would still be waiting, let alone what I was waiting for. Then I had to tell her everything that I had ordered and paid for, and that yes, I had vegetables in my order. She let me know that I was waiting for vegetables and handed me my order. Guess what, when I ate my food, those vegetables tasted like crap, they were awful. They tasted bad and they made me late so I didn't get to grab some ice cream on the way home. Good thing the entrees are real good, or I would never go back to Panda Express. Oh yeah, while I was waiting in your drive thru, missing out on ice cream, I was reminded that I think every time I go to Panda Express, they're always out of stuff and the service can sure use some improvement.
