4 stars because the employees that have ever helped me are super nice and work hard. In the evenings there can be a line out the door so be ready to wait, but sometimes you get lucky. Never had a problem with portion size, it's normal, it's not 2012 anymore where they heap it on... Today I decided to try the grilled chicken and I was hugely disappointed, straight to the trash. It was rubbery, stringy, and the first couple of bites tasted fatty like the fat on a cooked steak, but it looked like a regular meat piece. I don't know if this is lab grown chicken or WHAT, but it definitely did not taste like chicken at all. Not sure what's going on, but yeah, never ordering it again. The servings are generous and good value especially compared to most fast food these days. I ordered through the app and appreciated the text message when the food was ready. I've been going to this location on and off for quite a few years now and they used to be SO good. However lately here is my experience on recent orders: 1) They BURN the chilis used in the hot dishes (like Kung Pao and the new hot Orange Chicken). Like literally BURNED almost to mush. They are supposed to be roasted, not completely burned black. These burnt chilis cause the entire dish to taste like burnt ash. 2) The chow mien was dry and thin and the rice was dry and cold 3) Half the chicken in the Kung Pao contained big disgusting pieces of fat and gristle (or something else hard to chew) ICK!! 4) The portions are about 25% smaller than they used to be, including the little single entree little boxes. Google it, it's true! I remember the days when you could get a dish packed full of food. Those days are gone. Although with inflation and raised minimum wage I guess I can't fault them for this. It's just something to be aware of. You can still get full plates from other Chinese restaurants, but they cost $3 more and don't employ as many non-owners/non-relatives, so that's probably why they can afford to load up a dish. Also, those independent restaurants don't pay ridiculous franchise fees to pad the pockets of the CEO's living in mansions. I haven't tried any other Panda Express locations yet, since I've lived in Rancho for over 30 years now. But I'm done with this crappy location. I came here expecting to order the eggplant tofu, but was disappointed to see that they no longer carry it. But I was hungry and decided to wait in line to order chow mein and super greens for myself, and I was with my family too. It was during lunch hour and the line was long and moving really slow. So I placed an online order while waiting in line. I was with my toddler who didn't want to keep waiting in line, so I sat down while my other family members waited in line. When they finally got to the counter and mentioned they have an online order pickup, the employee pointed somewhere but didn't say anything so it was assumed that they were working on it. When my family member got to the cashier and mentioned again that she has an online order pickup, the cashier also pointed somewhere but didn't say anything. So my family member kept standing there. Finally I went up and said that we have an online order Pickup. The cashier said it's over there. We didn't know where over there was. Finally they told us that it's outside. So my family member went outside but there was nobody working at the pickup window. So she went back inside and they brought out one of our online orders after we told them we had two. So we had to go back and ask for our online order again. From the time that we got in line until we got our second order took about 45 minutes. I picked up an order that I placed on Grubhub. I show the order details to this older woman who works there, and she says no "I need the confirmation." But that was the confirmation. It was literally the confirmation on the Grubhub app with the order details. The only thing missing was the name, but that's just how Grubhub is. She made the whole pickup inconvenient and I had to wait in the cold and drizzle for another person to come help. Like, if you're gonna be bad at you're job or confused about something, at least be nice about it, it's even worse that she was completely rude about it. Like sorry you don't know what an order confirmation looks like. Also, I'm over here holding my phone showing my entire app with the order details and saying my name too, like what else do you want from me? We tried to call and after the 5 rings we got "no one is here to answer your call, goodbye." and the line would disconnect. We tried emailing corporate and it's been days with no response. If it was just one time, everyone makes mistakes. But more than half the time? Do I think they are doing it on purpose no. I think it's a busy place and easy to mess up one item in a large order. Had a potluck at the office and my go to place is here. They have a party tray of chow mien and it's always worth it. This location is clean with a lot of parking since it is in a strip mall. The service was great and the staff so nice. I tried to get it delivered but you have to order two party trays to have that done which was disappointing . Had someone pick up lunch for me today and ordered two entrees. Blazing Bourbon Chicken and Beyond Orange Chicken. Both were so burnt I could barely eat it. I was going to eat half today and half tomorrow. ate what I could and threw away the rest. The Orange chicken was so burned, it was black on both sides and almost broke my plastic fork. The Bourbon chicken was still a little tender, but was also very burnt. All I could taste was burnt meat when eating both. Unfortunately I was in no position to take the order back. This Panda Sucks! It is the closest one to me, but I normally drive an extra 20-30mins simply to avoid this place. The food is not as good quality, the food choices are more limited, and the service is non-existent. This place normally serves LESS food in your plate. The rations are smaller. I had heard multiple people (including myself) comment at the register on the lack of sides on the plate, and requesting them to add more food to the plate. Also, I have never received the food hot from this place. Maybe I always come at the wrong time or something?? But the food is normally lukewarm. I wouldn't spend my time coming on Yelp to leave a review about this, since I can just go to another one, but tonight (unfortunately) I was too hungry to drive an extra 30 mins for panda, and decided to give this place one more shot. Tonight was my worst experience. I ordered two plates on the Panda Express App, and they messed up BOTH orders. The first order was a plate with two entrees, but they only gave one entree. So they actually took away food that I paid for, AND gave a small amount of it. Look at the pictures to notice how skimpy the portions of food they give. The second plate was also supposed to be half and half like the first plate, but it was not half and half. They only gave me chow mein, even though the order clearly labeled as half and half. So now you can't even trust this place to give you the right order, let alone give you enough food to be full. Don't be dumb like me. Drive an extra 20 mins if you want Panda Express, because the quality is SO much better at other places. All Pandas are NOT the same! That is now very clear to me. Went on in on Friday to pick up a preorder placed several hours earlier. I got there 10 minutes after the requested time and the food was not ready. I do not know if this is because the Blazing Bourbon Chicken was new and everyone wanted it. After waiting another 5 minutes my bag was handed to me and I left. I got home and opened my bag to discover none of the sauces were there. Kind of hard to have teriyaki chicken without the sauce. No hot mustard or sweet n sour for the egg rolls, not even soy sauce for the rice. Luckily I have that at home. As for the food it was okay considering the sauce situation. I got to the Blazing Bourbon Chicken. The breading while fried had a slight oil pooling between it and the chicken. Blazing or even warm it was not. Very disappointed in the quality recently. We come here because it's cost effective and convenient but this place is almost always a dumpster fire at mealtimes. I don't know why we keep coming back, and I'm thinking it's about time we find somewhere else to go. Last night we stopped by after running errands yesterday to grab some food before heading home. The line was long and bottlenecked midway through and 6-8 people were standing at the end, waiting on their orders. After 15 minutes or so, they were able to get "current" and we put in our order. One thing that never made sense to me is the way they send their orders down the line. The people in front of us were waiting on an entree that wasn't ready, but everything we requested was readily available, so we had to wait for them. Long story short, we get our food. Took us almost 30 minutes to get through the line at a counter-service fast food restaurant. The icing on the cake is they hand it to us in this thin "garbage bag". Apparently they ran out of regular bags and carriers, so this was their solution. We get home and settled in to eat, and the portions for the white rice and Beijing beef aren't even full. There's an inch from the top of the lid in the Beijing beef and the white rice is "full", but so loosely packed that we ran out after splitting it between 3 of us (normally we can split it between 4). The kung pao was about 4x spicier than normal; whoever was cooking that day thought these peppers needed to be increased. Take a look at the photo - normally we get 5-6 in a family meal box. Like I said, time to find another Panda that's somewhat close-ish for future orders. I know it doesn't matter at the end of the day, and this location will continue to get business, but avoid it if you can. read more

After an Oscar-worthy performance of pretending I didn't exist, I finally got her attention. She looked for my order, failed, and proceeded to say, she'd "figure it out later," which I assume means after Elon has colonized Mars. Immediately returned to her regularly scheduled program of doing absolutely nothing waiting for others picking out their food to make there way down the line. Ten minutes turned into fifteenth, so I ventured down the line to find two employees just, chilling with the boys, instead of filing orders in the middle of a busy shift. (okay, maybe I was channeling a frustrated, what the junk?), one guy graced me with a "Yeah?" as if I was interrupting his extremely important task of...existing. Eventually, after more fumbling and confused looks and the speed of a sloth trying to solve a Rubik's Cube, someone finally made my meal. Reason for this poor review is due to the lack of noodles in the chow mein. I received about one head of cabbage along with 2 heads of onion and approximately an infant size handful of noodles. I don't even think cows have this much greens in one serving. I know times are tough..but damn..no shame I guess!! I was really looking forward to the chow mein that's why I gave 1 star. There really is no other place that makes orange chicken like this; I mean, yeah you can order orange chicken at traditional Chinese restaurants but you have to add sriracha or chili sauce for that spicy kick like Panda Express. I came in here on the 4th of January 2022.. I honestly never been in here before, but glad to find one very close to my son's kickboxing gym location. We been coming to RC for almost a year now consistently, due to my son's current kickboxing training at the Rancho Cordova Martial Arts Gym. I always have to figure out what places are there to eat around here. Not all are healthy friendly or good to have daily.. I try to stay away from deep fried foods and oily but sometimes on a budget, Panda Is the next best thing to feed a family of 3 kids and a mom! That's right.. I have a 22 yr old special needs daughter who can eat all she can lol, who stands at 6'2, another daughter who is 16 yrs standing at 5'11 & my son, 15 yrs at 5'6... so Panda really saved the day... I ordered 4 bowls which contains 2 items. One is a choice of fried rice/ super veggies or chow mein. The other 2nd choice is the main dishes... I actually asked if I can have super veggies on 2 bowls while they also put a little bit of chow mein & I am so grateful they were okay with that without charging me extra. Those were for me & my son. The other 2 bowls were for my daughters, so it was chow mein & chicken w/mushroom & other was fried rice w/chicken string beans... these bowls were delish, filling, it was on the oily side but it was good. It filled up & satisfied our hunger & I wish i took photos of our food bowls but we were hungry & tired! The store itself is very clean, the speaker where the workers speak into can be hard to hear but other than that it was functional as we got our food in a neatly timely matter. They were very helpful workers who listened to what each needs were met on the orders & I wouldn't mind coming back for more experiences since I ordered food to go, I did not experience eating indoors nor use their restroom to know that portion to rate in my review.
