I placed my order through the app and received a text that my food was ready 10 minutes before my requested pickup time. Normally that would be great, but today I knew that I would not get there early so I wasn't happy that my food was sitting out. It sat even longer because there was someone at the register when I went inside to pickup my food, and I still don't understand why it took 5 minutes for the guy at the register to give the man his change. Although there were many employees that kept walking by as I was waiting, none of them asked if they could assist me so my food continued to sit on the shelf. I ordered the plate which comes with 2 entrees and a side. I ordered The Original Orange Chicken, Beijing Beef, and Chow Mein. They gave me a large portion of the Beijing Beef and a smaller portion of the Orange Chicken, which is my favorite. The food tasted good so I gave 3 stars for that reason, but there should be a quicker pickup system in place for those who order ahead. read more

The food is decent for a chain restaurant but a bit oily. The service is very spotty. Sometimes okay and often it's terrible. Tonight it was really terrible. My spouse went in for a large order of some mixed greens which they had to cook, and she waited for nearly 20 minutes (I know because I was in the car waiting). They were done but the staff was distracted, filling to go orders, waiting on others while the greens simply sat there unattended. This is not the first time nor the second time. Came into this establishment at 4:30, no one ahead of us in line, was told they were making new orange chicken and it would just be a couple of minutes. They have the rice already to go on a plate, 30 minutes go by with no food, we ask a couple of times and we are assured it is coming out in "two minutes" - we finally ask for our food to go and we are told in addition to waiting on the orange chicken, we're also waiting on the fried rice! What?! Plenty of people come in as we sit waiting, getting rice and ORANGE CHICKEN. We will not be eating here for a long time. read more

It was my first time going there and I was really surprised by how many different types of food there was to choose from. The service was great and I was able to pick and choose which of the entrées that I wanted to have. They made the plate of choices right away and I had the option to eat in or have it as takeout. I chose to eat in. The place was clean and there was plenty of staff around to ask questions about everything. I had a fantastic experience and definitely will be going back soon again. Their famous orange chicken was absolutely delicious! I would recommend to anyone who is in the mood to give something different a try to go here and see what you think about it for yourself. The price was a bit expensive but with the cost of everything today I feel it was in line with what you would expect. They also had a number of different coupons on line to use also. read more

The server was nice but said ALL the locations have stopped selling it. What's left on the menu is chicken and cheap beef. I can get that anywhere. Stopped in because I really wanted an egg roll. I got a chicken egg roll. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. I thought there was a greasy taste to it. I know I'm bias to another Chinese restaurant in Kalamazoo but after a couple bites, I thought maybe I should have tried the spring roll. I also got the apple pie roll. I thought it might have been sitting around under a warmer for awhile. It certainly didn't taste fresh. Can't say I'll be stopping by again. read more

People rave about Panda Express. We can't figure out why. Have gone here twice. Common between 2 trips: long wait times, friendly staff, & just ok food. 1st time, ate inside on a Sat afternoon in late July. Staff seemed to be hustling. There were 9 ppl running about the kitchen. Drive thru & door dash orders were going out consistently, but our line was not moving much at all. We watched the cooks retrieve bag after bag of frozen food & dump into woks. Wouldn't have mattered if they didn't advertise "fresh". Finally, our food was scooped and we made our way to check out, again super slow. All the tables were dirty & floor sticky in dining area. Food was ok. Protein portion for the kung pao chicken bowl was tiny. Plate with pepper beef (up charge) was hefty & had good flavor. Greens for the side were simple and lacked seasoning. For our 45 min experience, not a single person came out to the dining area to clean tables, sweep, refill consumables, etc. The kitchen was quite busy, so we figured we would try it again later. 2nd time: tried the drive through on a Mon around 3pm, only 2 cars ahead of us. Some how this was no better than last time. Long wait to order, then after we paid, they tell us they are out of 2 of our 4 entrees. They said we could go through the drive thru again & by then it should be done or we could park & come inside to wait. The point of drive thru was to be faster & not be in their dirty dining room. By this time the drive thru line was full, nearly to the entrance. Waited for our food inside. I checked the bag before leaving. They forgot our fortune cookies. I asked for them and was told it would be $3 for 4 fortune cookies. I guess they don't give them out with the meals any more? 45 min from arrival to food in hand. 2 plates were cold & 2 were piping hot. For the money paid and time spent, any other Chinese take out place in Portage will do. This will be our last visit. read more

I have come to this location so many times since it has opened. Not sure if I would recommend it but it's the only Panda around and I love their food. Unfortunately the food never seems fresh or they don't have what you want. I went today and had to wait for beef and broccoli and the string bean chicken so luckily that was fresh. Unfortunately the orange chicken was almost cold. Not sure how this happens when it is rush time on a Saturday afternoon. If you like to enjoy the landscaping while you are waiting it does look nice and the exterior is clean. The employees always seem nice when I go. Also, make sure to check your order if you are in the drive thru, I typically say this for every fast food restaurant, in this case I had to ask for the white rice they missed. read more

I had a very pleasant experience. Staff was super friendly and quick, considering they are busy most of the time. Food was absolutely delicious. I got the Honey Sesame Chicken Breast (never tried it before) and it's my new favorite. Overall, just really happy with my meal and sad this place doesn't get more 5 star reviews. The staff seems to be trying very hard to make it work with all of supply shortages they are dealing with. They did not not have a vast number of their regular entree options, but staff did a wonderful job of getting it posted in the drive thru and clarifying it at the speaker as well as being very apologetic. Zoe on drive-thru seemed so timid trying to cover all of what they did not have, I am sad to think of how many rude people took their disappointment out on her. I am actually sitting here in panda express right now. the service was so bad i immediately decided needed to write a review now. first off the line where the food was, was disgustingly messy. they were out of beef & broccoli. so we waited for it then by the time they filled it, i got some then my friend a few people in line behind me couldn't get any until the next batch was done cause they sold it to people that were here after us. most employees were very unprofessional, joseph was nice at the cashier. Lastly after my friend & i sat down i realized that they filled her box with MUCH more food than mine which is a scam. do better:((( won't be back read more

So went thru the drive thru ordered 2 bowl. Changed our order to accommodate them being out of orange chicken. Staff didn't know the menu or condiment options. No biggies its still fairly new. Got to the window and paid. Then we were told to go inside and wait for our order. My daughter went in and waited over 15 mins before coming back out and telling me they aren't getting our food. They offered to help her but all look perplexed as to why she came in from the drive thru. They helped and prepared other people entires family while she waited. I went in and was able to get our food with a brief we were waiting for beans explanation. While waiting of course the orange chicken was refilled. We got the string bean chicken because the orange was out. Hopefully they workout the kinks of basic customer service and knowing your product. read more

Wife likes the kung pow chicken and I love the spring rolls as well as the Rangoon's. Went to the drive-thru to place an order, I ordered 2 bigger plates once I finished placing the order I get told that they could only do credit because they don't have cash and I have to pay inside the store and I still had to wait 7-10 minutes for my order to be completed. I waited and once I go inside it seemed they have my order finished. The lady who bagged it didn't double check the food and just went by the receipt. So I trusted everything was in there. I get home I was missing entrees and a half assed entree ratio, I called and a lady answered and I explained the situation and once I told her about the ratio of a entree she argued that both of my 3 entrees were added, I told her "Atleast one is two entrees but the other one it seemed like one entree cause of the serving ratio". And as to my replacement i was first offered ONE small entree, later to a one Medium entree. For us it was an experience of a lifetime! It's our first time in this panda express on Westnedge, and if you live/work around here you know how crowded this place gets. Luckily, we drove by today on a Monday afternoon at 3:45pm and no one was in the drive through line so we decided to give it a shot (we had no plans to eat here prior). We weren't very sure what to order so it took us a second to look at the menu and decide. We drive up to the window to pay and the lady was being loud and rude. Just so bad. Drive-through line was wrapped around the building on a Thursday night around 6pm so we went inside. We learned why there was such a line because they were legit out of over 50% of their menu. No orange chicken! Or Kung Pao chicken! Or fried rice! Or cheese wantons. Or really anything. So as every person was rolling up to the drive through and ordering, the worker would have to tell them every single thing they were out of and then the person could wait 10-15 for more to be made or pick something else out of the ever-dwindling options. I was just so confused how this happened. Can't you tell when you are running low on something and need to start a new batch?? In addition, bathrooms were closed. No iced tea was available. I ordered a kids meal for my son, which came with a drug, but soda was the only drink option. No milk or juice or anything! It looks like being out of menu items is a common problem based on other reviews so I would save time and just skip this location. I dont really like the food very good but the reason I gave a two is because I could barely understand what the First Lady was saying , the food was cold and a little hard but still good taste my mom said "it was barely Edible and dry" I do agree it was VERY dry the service was ok the drink machine had no ice and was warm even though the second lady told us "the drinks will be cold" and we're VERY VERY WARM so I do not recommend for family of 4 and up!
