Went to Panda today and saw my favorite manager, Nathan. He is the reason why we used to go 2x - 3x a week before he was transferred to Atascadero. After a long 5 hour drive (a long day of work, picking up teenegers, and a soccer game!) we arrived to Paso Robles a tad bit late and HANGRY! Our options were very limited. At first we had stoped at Chipotle but unfortunately because it was near closing hours they didn't have much left. So we decided to go to Panda, which never disappoints, and boy did we make the right choice. Even though the employees were closing, I asked if they had veggies, to which they said "no but we can make some for you"... Although I declined the offer, I was impressed to see young employees going above and beyond to satisfy a customer in these days. Specially at closing time! So the 5 stars are mainly for the staff. When ordering was rushed to choose one meat option when I had multiple options allowed, I asked to see other meat options and then when I asked for teriyaki and broccoli beef they only gave me teriyaki. Then got told to pay when I wasn't even done ordering a they didn't ask if I wanted a drink or anything additional like they're supposed too. This is the second time I've gone this month to Panda Express and once again my order has been messed up this is not ok. It was my first time there on Dec. 20th. They greet you when you walk in and everything was freshly made with an open kitchen. I don't eat noodles or Rice and they had fresh vegetables for my chicken dish. I was amazed how good it was since I cook most of the time. The manager was wonderful and made my experience wonderful. During the rushes they are really lacking in staff it seems to cook, as they are always delayed on getting popular items to the hot table! It is Panda Express so I don't expect too much from them. It was pretty quiet here for being 12:50 pm. I was only 3rd in line and there were a few tables occupied. The Chow Mein of course needed 2 packets of soy sauce to liven up the simple flavor but it hit the mark. Across the street their lunch specials are some of the best I have had but knew I couldn't eat a full meal. Clean, fast, quick and restroom decent. Comic Book guy and Karen walked in and had a meltdown tonight because the tall blonde guy at the front said they couldn't make more Kung pao chicken 5min before closing. They also were out of veggie spring rolls. I don't need to give a play-by-play, but the guy working there was very sweet and took the abuse. When they asked for the manager, the response was swift and the guy taking the abuse held himself accountable for the customer abuse/concern. It was hilarious. It was embarrassing. +5 stars customer service -1 stars for being out of so many things (brown rice, veggies, and a couple more) The whole Karen, millennial back and forth with the patrons was also amusing. Most inefficient system I've seen tonight . Melody was doing at least two or three peoples' jobs and was amazing! If it wasn't for her, everyone would've been waiting at least a hour for food. Isaiah was super obnoxious and just talking the entire time he should've been putting entrees in plates and serving orders. He also was cross contaminating by touching stuff by the cash register, the floors / shelves and then grabbing peoples orders without changing his gloves.
