The customer service is excellent here and the staff are so sweet! I got the combo A platter with lo mein, orange chicken, and green beans with chicken. The orange chicken is very flavorful and has a nice crisp to it! Honestly can't go wrong with the orange chicken. The string beans are well seasoned and the chicken that comes with it is packed with flavor. I do think the food is on the saltier side, but I have a higher sodium tolerance so I don't mind it. However, if you are sensitive to sodium, I suggest choosing the rice over the lo mein for the side. read more

Very friendly service (lots of guessing about my ethnicity and why I am in Coalinga). But as the other reviewers noted, the food is very salty here. Despite the cautionary reviews, I had a Chinese food craving that wouldn't die. Aftermath: not feelin' too hot after eating the noodles and chicken w/ broccoli, so I won't be a repeat customer. To my surprise, there is a lot of foot traffic, so my opinion is clearly in the minority. That said, I am sipping my Trader Joe's pomegranate detox tea. read more

I usually come here in the slow early-afternoon hours on the weekend when they are preparing some of the ingredients that will be cooked for the dinner-time clientele. When I come in sometimes I'm the first customer of the day and have seen a box full of fresh green beans being trimmed and sorted at one of the empty tables. You wouldn't expect an inexpensive restaurant like this to use farm fresh veggies, but from what I've seen and tasted they do! And what's more, the menu is occasionally infused with seasonal items like asparagus chicken in the spring when fresh asparagus is available. They know how to use the ingredients well. The asparagus was cooked to a perfect al dente tenderness that allowed this veggie to shine in all its green glory. It's been a few years since I found this place and eating here is still one of the things I look forward to most about visiting Coalinga. Keep up the great work China 1 Express! read more

Good for take out when you have a Chinese food craving! Basically a mom and pop version of Panda Express. Very reasonably priced and the woman who served me was friendly. Coming from the Bay Area, I may be a little biased on Chinese take-out, however if I'm ever in Coalinga again I probably won't be back here. I got a 2 order combo with chow mein, Kung pan chicken, and black pepper chicken. Although the food is definitely edible and the sides and fortune cookie are okay, the chow mein was a bit questionable for me. It lacked flavor/substance and I had plenty of old hard chewy noodles that made me not particularly want to eat anymore of my food. Definitely feel that yelpers overrated this spot. read more

Disgusting Chinese food ever waste of 15.00 my daughter had a horrible stomach ache after consuming I threw my whole plate away the sweet and sour sauce is watered down they are greedy with giving out any extra even when ordering sweet and sour chicken they give 1 tiny little plastic cup for all of your chicken they keep a watered down jug filled with this sauce to pour over if you like that is dirty the shrimp side oh gosh they only give you about 4 shrimps and slam your plate with this nasty lettuce ugh it's not good food don't waste your time or money this place should be shut down oh yes the rice don't dare get the rice the chowmein has this horrible salty taste to it basically it's not real Chinese food it has no quality don't believe go for yourself good luck read more

The staff is very friendly to all people, she like talking lots of thing to the customer, The combo is cheap, black pepper chicken and choose steam rice is perfect match for me. you must know you can ask them to take the MENU , there are lots of other food they produce except the combo food and some picture of food they produce... they will cook for u immediately after u choose it so you must choose it if u hv time Lemon chicken , singapore noode And some other type of fried rice are very delicious too , u can ask them what vegetable do they have in this week too. Chinese fast food... Good orange chicken .. And the green beans with chicken are amazing and the large egg rolls are great to... The owners are so nice compared to the other restaurants in town but this is a quick and easy way to get some yummy easy fast Chinese food! read more

I'm only giving them one star bc yelp is forcing me to. I don't know or understand any of the previous reviews. I can only assume they know nothing about good Chinese food or that they are fake reviews. It was terrible. Greasy and fatty meat with stale flavor. Nothing fresh it was just a pile of slop. We just got out of a festival and stopped for food bc we were starving. We were looking forward to a meal and this happened. I ordered fried chicken wings that were so big it was questionable if they even came from a chicken. One bite and I was done. In the end we gave all four boxes to the homeless man outside. I'm not sure he was amused either. To the people above, you need to expand their taste buds or get evaluated. I currently am fighting to not throw up. read more
