Very friendly service (lots of guessing about my ethnicity and why I am in Coalinga). But as the other reviewers noted, the food is very salty here. Despite the cautionary reviews, I had a Chinese food craving that wouldn't die. Aftermath: not feelin' too hot after eating the noodles and chicken w/ broccoli, so I won't be a repeat customer. To my surprise, there is a lot of foot traffic, so my opinion is clearly in the minority. That said, I am sipping my Trader Joe's pomegranate detox tea.

2 item combo featuring: double noodles, and two different chicken entrees including a seasonal menu item - asparagus chicken!

I usually come here in the slow early-afternoon hours on the weekend when they are preparing some of the ingredients that will be cooked for the dinner-time clientele. When I come in sometimes I'm the first customer of the day and have seen a box full of fresh green beans being trimmed and sorted at one of the empty tables. You wouldn't expect an inexpensive restaurant like this to use farm fresh veggies, but from what I've seen and tasted they do! And what's more, the menu is occasionally infused with seasonal items like asparagus chicken in the spring when fresh asparagus is available. They know how to use the ingredients well. The asparagus was cooked to a perfect al dente tenderness that allowed this veggie to shine in all its green glory. It's been a few years since I found this place and eating here is still one of the things I look forward to most about visiting Coalinga. Keep up the great work China 1 Express!

Good for take out when you have a Chinese food craving! Basically a mom and pop version of Panda Express. Very reasonably priced and the woman who served me was friendly. The Black Pepper Chicken and Kung Pan Chicken are good and if you like your food really spicy try mixing their homemade chili paste into your chow mein.

One suggestion. Order off the menu! Yes they have paper menus. The veggies with sauce on the side (called healthy veggies) are amazing

The smell was so good that I drove around the strip mall parking lot trying to track down the source. That search led us to China Gourmet, a very unassuming restaurant tucked away in the shopping center. Once inside, you're transported into a charming mom-and-pop Chinese restaurant. The décor is simple, comfortable, and fitting for the space, creating a welcoming atmosphere. After looking through the menu, we decided on the Chef's Special Dinner. For our entrées, we chose the Chow Fun Noodles with Beef, Sizzling Black Pepper Beef, and Chicken Fried Rice. Appetizers included Egg Rolls, Deep-Fried Shrimp, and BBQ Ribs. The meal also came with a bowl of War Wonton Soup. Everything was freshly prepared and made to order. The ingredients tasted fresh, the flavors were well balanced, and every dish was cooked properly. The standout item for us was the Chow Fun Noodles with Beef. The tender beef and perfectly cooked noodles made it the highlight of the meal. Everything paired nicely with a chilled glass of Hexamer Riesling. To top it all off, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, and all of our dishes arrived in a timely manner. We'll definitely be back for another visit.

Well, for a Chinese restaurant tucked deep in a white neighborhood, Dynasty Chinese Cuisine breaks this law. Food: 5/5 From our first bite, we could tell everything was made in-house. The crispy potsticker wrapper did not taste like it came frozen from a Bibigo bag, and the egg roll filling tasted fresh. The Black Pepper Beef Skillet came out still sizzling and smoking, and the meat was tender and moist. We also ordered the BBQ Pork Chow Fun, and the noodles had a balanced smoky flavor. The meat was also tender. From our photos, you could see a hefty portion of meat in each dish. This is one of the best Chinese food I've ever had, and for the price point, this place deserves the elusive 5 out of 5. Service: 4.5/5 There appears to be one server manning the floor the majority of the time, but the owner came out to check in on patrons. Both were super friendly and attentive, chatting with us about recommendations and welcoming us to the area. The service was fast. Atmosphere: 4.5/5 This restaurant is a proper casual Chinese restaurant, and the atmosphere reflects that. We did not expect it to be as lively as it was when we came in for lunch at 1:30pm on a weekday. The noise levels and music were not offensive. And the place is incredible clean! The dining floor and bathroom looked well-maintained and clear of any debris. I would recommend this restaurant for a dinner date for one, a family meal, or takeout. Final rating: 4.5/5 (rounding up to 5 on Yelp)

I went in expecting to pay $34.40 (without tax). So I was taken aback when she said my total was $56.95. I noticed a sign on the wall that said due to increase of costs, ALL items will have $3.50 added. Okay that's a lot but everything is going up so I get it. But then when I asked for a menu to take home she wrote $3.75 on the front and said that's how much is added to each item so for me to not wonder why my total was different. Still seemed higher than it should be so I did the math and my total at $3.75 added to each item should have been $49.40 and then I added the 8.25% tax rate so new total $53.48. So I was charged an extra $3.47 on top of the additional $3.75 per item. I know it seems petty to complain but that's shady. Additionally, the food was the most greasiest Chinese food I have ever had in my life. The lady working the front was so sweet though so I gave 2 stars.
