I have been enjoying semi-asian food from New China for decades. This time, though, I could not even force myself to finish my meal. If we had not taken it as a take-out, I would have sent it back. The rice being used is short grain, and tastes like minute rice in its lack of flavor. The order was for pork fried rice. But what we got was rice with diced (possibly canned or previously frozen) carrots and peas. No celery. No onion. No pork. No cabbage. Just bare-bone rice and tiny veggies. Very disappointed. No spice or added flavor at all (that I can sense). The orange chicken is not fresh. The outside was soggy and limp. The sauce was, again, strangely devoid of much flavor. The sauce was gummy. It's been 3 years since I've eaten here or did take out. After tonight's order I remember why I never came back. All I ordered was pork chow mein, but it seems that the owners or the cook forgot the Pork in the Pork Chow Mein. Where did it go? Certainly not in my mouth or belly. More like Pork bits. (Insert eye roll emoji here). One more thing they forgot to add. . . Flavor. Yah, I felt like I was just faking my lunch at this point with every bite. One thing they didn't forget was oil. Yah, these noodles were so greasy that I don't have to moisturize my lips for the rest of the week. So I pick up the food because it was a group order, but no boxes were labeled & my receipt was in Chinese. First time ever that I had to ask for a receipt in English. Total in all was $85. Boy did someone get ripped off, but it sure wasn't me. When I arrived there was only one party of 6 present. That should have been a Red Flag right there. The place needed well . . . some life. Food is good overall sometimes, but portions are small compared to others. Plates are overpriced with the smaller portions. I once had the egg flour soup and it was practically cold. So was my broccoli. I would make sure food is hot and ready to serve. read more

Do not enjoy giving two star reviews, however I visited here in a small town and thot either a gem or maybe not. Service is fast and quick, too fast it seemed to me everything is pre cooked and just warmed for serving. The won ton type of chips a lil stale. Egg rolls gave me a bad first bite, advised my partner not to eat. Soup came out tepid and not hot. Fried rice was hard and again not hot. Hard from maybe sitting too long, don't Think it was undercooked or the hardness would have been consistent thru out. Chow mein mostly cool noodles and chicken with broccoli. Again could have been hotter. Sweet and sour chicken was pre- cooked, which many places do this. And add the sauce after. They could have heated it a bit longer to make it hot and then added the sauce. However, maybe to get it out quickly, they missed here also. They do charge fee of some sort if using a credit card. Left a tip anyway. But no, I won't stop again. But this evening we needed to and it could have been a great stop. Ya just never know. read more

My friend was craving some Chinese food... so after some Yelp research.. we randomly stopped by this place on the drive up to the Bay Area. Ambiance: -Casual, family restaurant with tables and booths Service: -Even though it wasn't busy, the service was ok. Food: -House special fried rice: pretty tasty -Mongolian beef: lots of meat -Wor wonton soup: ok, a bit watery and flavorless -Prawns in lobster sauce: pretty good but you couldn't really taste the lobster flavor Parking: -lots of spaces in the lot Overall, better than we expected. Food was average. Nothing special but some certain dishes but overall typical Chinese restaurant meals with hardly any flavoring. The rice had the most salt of all dishes and almost unbearable to eat. Thai tea Boba was good. Service was okay but took too long to get our order but the funny thing is the restaurant only had 3 people at the time of my first visit. I was recommend it to this place when I go visit family in Coalinga from time to time but I felt like this restaurant was over-hyped and overrated. What I love about this place is that it is always empty in the evenings (could probably be a negative thing but you always get a table quick). They have a TV with ESPN channel where I watch my Golden State Warriors games, they give me the TV remote and I feel at home. I was seated and my drink order was delivered. I ordered Egg Rolls, and Szechuan Shrimp with steamed white Rice. The Egg Rolls were delivered first. Not very much taste to them. If it hadn't been for the sauce I could not have eaten them. My Shrimp arrived and again no flavor BUT !!! I found 2 pieces of BONE buried in the veggies ??!! I have eaten this dish quite often but I never found what looked like Chicken ? or Turkey?? bones ?? The waitress never did come back and refill my Ice Tea so I only got 1 glass. The Rice was awful.
