I really love Mei's Restaurant I traveled from SLO to enjoy the food I ordered egg rolls which were delicious and Chicken fried rice with my order and Broccoli Beef I loved the flavor of the beef it was really good and Wor Won soup which is one of my favorites I will definitely be back soon read more

Beware that although they state that the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, it is NOT. There is one table with an ADA sticker there is no way a wheelchair or walker can access it. Also no offer to assist at all. Food might be good but inaccessible to folks with mobility issues. read more

My combo came with egg drop soup which was watery Veggie 1 fried eggroll and 1 fried wonton Low main vegetarian no meat in it Sweet and sour pork GF order Wonton soup 4 slice bbq pork and 1 fried shrimp Kung Pao chicken They both came with egg fried rice. Which felt like they added soy sauce and fried Egg to white rice and just mixed it. No frying Service was good and will have to give it another chance by ordering ala cart instead. read more

And walked away telling everyone other customer all white happy New Year, offering water and to go boxes. But when she came back to ours she threw the check on the table. Mei's is a must to stop when we are driving through the area. Great food and great service. Lo mein, orange chicken, and best of all the eggplant. The lemon chicken is amazing, I like to make it a meal for seven dollars extra, the green beans are outstanding. I love this place for Chinese food. You get an actual piece of chicken instead of little chicken dumplings. It's small and quiet, healthy food it takes a bit of time to get your food but it's worth the extra time to get food that tasty. read more

This place has some decent Chinese food and is quite authentic, not the Americanized Panda. they are just on loan anyways. I went on Chinese New Year of the dragon . I was satisfied with the food it's really good, however, they may be a little liberal with their MSG usage. I don't mind, I feel it, but no major reactions so I get to enjoy the authentic Chinese experience. The atmosphere is quant and if you are a bigger person could pose a challenge but I assure you the food is worth it. We tried Mei's a few years back and didn't care for it. It was in those covid, take out days and it just didn't travel well apparently, because I recently went in for lunch. I had one of their lunch specials and wow, what a difference! The egg drop soup is fantastic and the best I think I've ever had. The veggies in my dish were cooked to perfection and little crispy like I like them. It was fresh, hot and oh so good. Their lunch specials are the perfect size for lunch. I can't wait to go back. I'm telling you, I've tried all the other Chinese food places from Paso to Santa Maria and couldn't find one I liked. I'm so glad I gave Mei's a second chance. Our favorite Chinese food closed last year. So we decided to go to Mei's and we've been there before but it's been a long time. We went around 530 and got in right away, and the service was fantastic. I believe one of the owners waited on us. We each had like a family dinner where you get to choose your rice, soup, and entrée. You do also get some appetizers. She talked us into getting potstickers. They were OK. I had a glass of plum wine and my husband had hot tea. They do have a few wines to choose from and beer. Glad we went when we did because it really got crowded. A lot of people were picking up meals that they had ordered online. The atmosphere is typical kind of a hole in the wall but it was nice and clean. we will definitely go back. read more

We drove into Shell Beach to pick up some unexpectedly delicious food. The crispy garlic beef was not crispy at all but was very tasty nonetheless. The barbecue pork was served free of a pool of grease. I thank you. Sesame Three Flavors was also a hit with the family. As well as the potstickers and shrimp fried rice. We come to the central coast every six month, we go to Meis every time we are in town and they never disappoint. Our server was a younger guy, when he came to take our order, he still remembers our names!!! We decided to try something different than the things we usually order, our server was very helpful and patiently answered our questions. We love this place! read more

The food was good but the service was bad. Especially when it was time to pay the owner added 15$ tip for a 85$ bill without telling. And then there was a tip section on the final bill I ended up tipping him another 10$ for a mediocre service. It's been over a year since we visited Mei's, and I hoped it would still be great since it was my son's favorite. Unfortunately, our meal was disappointing. All three dishes had a similar soy sauce-based flavor and were lacking in vegetables. I understand that many restaurants face challenges, and I hope Mei's can improve.
