So now we have a new favorite that includes fried shrimp, stuffed shrimp, fried crawfish tails, fried catfish, seafood gumbo, a hush puppy, and one side of choice. We also love their hot homemade yeast bread. Our server, Randy, was great. She was very attentive and took care of our every need. We will ask for her next time.

Unfortunately, this was a one-and-done visit for my family…read more There were six of us, and while the staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant, the food just didn't meet our expectations. I ordered the chicken wrap, and it was pretty bland and not very flavorful. Several members of my family ordered the original chicken tenders, and they felt the same way, they just was not very tasty. The only positive food feedback came from those who ordered the spicy tenders, which they said were much better and had good flavor. I always try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt because everyone can have an off day, but based on this experience, I don't see myself returning. The customer service and cleanliness were great, but unfortunately, the food matters a lot, and it just didn't deliver for us.

Those who know me well know that I've spent $200 on A5 grade Kobe Beef in Japan. They also know that I put hot dogs on the same culinary pedestal. The service here has always been wonderful, be it at the window or drive-thru. But my last two visits were a little less than satisfactory. Long story short, I've arrived around 11 a.m. on both previous visits and, as I have continued north of U.S. 59 toward my destination, my hot dogs from this location have had the consistency of something that has been on a convenience store roller for multiple hours. Further, the kraut on my most recent visit tasted like they ran it through rock tumbler alongside aluminum foil. Besides fried okra, hot dogs are my favorite food in the world. Not only have I checked in at hot dog joints and called them "Mecca," I've also attended City Council meetings and encouraged them to attract more hot dog places. This place needs to do better. I understand that employees probably arrive at the joint around 9 a.m. But could the manager ease up on the throttle with tossing dogs on the grill immediately? And the kraut ... it had a strong metallic taste this time around. I'm a little spoiled on kraut, since I make my own, but I can still stomach the canned stuff. This was beyond that. Will I return here? Yep. Hopefully, my next trip will yield some fresher dogs.

I tried it out today for lunch judging hamburgers around Lufkin. I order plain burgers with everything on it except mayonnaise. Only one patty of beef, hands-down mom's is the best in Lufton. I would rate second raise and third Whataburger Whataburger only lose us over Reyes because of the size of the overall burger it's as good as Reyes moms is huge packed full of extra good ingredients besides the beef patty and the fries are homemade. I'll be back here for breakfast and other things. This is a great place.

Mom's Diner is one of those classic spots that reminds you why comfort food is called comfort food…read more From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with friendly service, a warm atmosphere, and that nostalgic diner charm that makes you feel right at home. The food here is exactly what you want it to be--hot, fresh, flavorful, and served in portions that definitely won't leave you hungry. The standout for me? The liquid butter. If you know, you know. You can pour that golden magic over the toast, the pancakes, the biscuits--basically anything that'll hold it--and it takes everything to the next level. It's the kind of simple, old-school touch that makes a meal unforgettable. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, grabbing a plate lunch, or just craving some true diner comfort, Mom's never misses. Great people, great food, and great prices. Absolutely a Lufkin gem--and we'll keep coming back!

I always order ahead so the service is on point and the wait time is minimal. I would like the prices to go back to what they used to be, but that goes for everywhere, so it's not just a Taco Bell price gouging thing. There are certainly better options for the same type of food in Lufkin, but the convenience and consistently good quality keep Taco Bell in our lineup of options when we're feeling the need for some take-out.
