Great food, even better vibe. My Neighbor Totoro was playing on a TV the whole time I was there. Super cheap (most menu items were around $8). Will definitely be coming back. read more

Panda Cafe - Buddhist Delight + fried tofu - Chinese Near Me - Nacogdoches, Texas

This place has stepped the food up quite a bit. It has always been good but it has hit a new level of excellence.

Bleh. If you want a good cleaning out with a side of nausea this is your place. They should have named it blahs-ville. I'm not sure how to cook such tasteless, spiceless food. Sadly disappointed. read more

Very good food. Totally affordable daily special. Friendly and fast service. I was impressed and will definitely be back.

I pull up and ordered and this dude had a straight up attitude I was like wtv yk. And then it at the window and his tone was like he didn't wanna be there and I tipped him a couple dollars and he looks at me and goes "why" and I said I'll take it back if you don't want it and he was like nahhhh and then he slams the window door and yes ik idc but the window was halfway open by the force of him slam it and I grab it when he was walk away and slam it back like ok rude ass I lit been be nice felt bad and tip you. Then when he comes back he has his manager stand behind him hole time guess they saw then he was be all nice while she was stand there watch us cause ik she saw what happen and she don't know that guy was straight up rude ask rolling his eyes and I even ask if he was have a bad day or some and the fact is I tipped him and I go up here all the time! I love panda a lot and everytime I go I tip them and they always so nice and make conversation with the other employees but guess the manager only saw my side with his acting skills around her she needs to read this and know he needs to get his attitude check. I never been so disrespected in my hole years go there! read more

The food itself is meh, not great but not awful. The amount is good for the price. My issue is that I found a PEBBLE in my fried rice. WTF??? How do you mess up that badly? Either they've chosen bad food suppliers or have shitty cleanliness practices in the kitchen. This was my first time ordering from them and it'll be my last. My god. read more

Panda Cafe - a hand holding a piece of food - Chinese Near Me - Nacogdoches, Texas

My favorite Asian place in Nac for years. It's the best in Nac. My favorite is the beef egg foo young. I used to come here and just try random dishes on the menu to spice it up and was never disappointed. read more

We ordered from here on DoorDash a few times. Our order included orange chicken, veggie lomein and steamed dumplings (potstickers). All arrived pipping hot and correct. Including a delicious, slightly sweet soy-based dipping save. This place doesn't make your order until it's ready for pick up to keep it fresh. Definitely worth a few moments wait while they fire it out. We didn't get the feeling that anything had sat premade then heated up. This is your classic, quick (and pretty cheap) American-Chinese type fair. They have tofu options and veggie options for my non-meat eaters. I would hands down come here compared to the other quick Chinese take out joint up the road. Don't let the strip-mall shady exterior keep you from checking this place out! read more

Food was good. Good portions and not salty. We ordered General Tso's Chicken with fried rice and egg drop soup. We also got the Hunan Beef with steamed rice and an egg roll. Might be best to take it home/go for delivery, rather than eating there. Small place, lots of noise (tv and children who are obviously being baby sat there. playing/watching their videos. Girl who took our order was nice though. read more

The food is good but the restaurant itself is small and not a great looking. Their employees are not the friendliest but the service is quick. All in all its a great place for takeout but not for dining in. P.S. I like the General Tso's Chicken read more

Panda Cafe - people sitting at tables in a restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Nacogdoches, Texas

I've eaten here for years and the food is decent enough. However, tonight, I ordered for delivery. I waited an hour -- no food. I call back and the delivery driver had just handed my food to a group of people standing outside rather than coming to MY door and knocking. The guy was literally maybe 5-6 feet from my door. He brought me a cash refund since this had already hit my bank. He actually defended his actions, saying he "didn't want to get jumped." Mind you, this was at around 6:15 or so in the evening, in August, still hours of daylight left. I'm like, dude, no, no one's going to jump you if you just walk over and knock on my door. It's not like it was 11 PM or something. So before he brought the refund, I asked, "Can't you just make my food again and deliver it?" Nope. They're OUT OF SHRIMP. That's the second time in one week they've been out of shrimp at 5-6 PM. They've lost a customer for sure. read more

Panda cafe wasn't bad. Wasn't great tho. (What can you super expect in Nac tho). The girl at the front desk was fine and was able to tell me about their dishes. The restaurant is pretty small, a few booths, and a large television. I ordered to-go and waited a little less than 10 minutes for my food. It was hot and fresh. It had plenty of sauce, but didn't seem drenched in it. I would say the flavor was alright, but wasn't the greatest. Prices were decent, nothing crazy. I got the bean curd with vegetables. Tofu was kinda big, but pretty tasty, and this one had all the vegetables they carry in their restaurant. The only thing was I had two water chestnuts in my whole meal, and only a few pieces of bell pepper (which are my favorite bits) while it seemed like carrots and some mushroom mostly overtook the meal. Broccoli amounts were not bad tho. The rice was typical rice, sticky and I liked it, but nothing top quality or fantastic. Portion size was pretty good too, definitely filled me up. I might come back here again, pretty typical Chinese take out. I usually go to Peking, just because friends prefer that place, but overall this place was good and worth visiting. read more

Panda Cafe - a woman sitting at the counter - Chinese Near Me - Nacogdoches, Texas

The lobby is inexplicably closed for the past several days. It's on campus, so most students walk. We can't use the drive through. They have an option on Uber eats for pickup, but then on their page they marked all menu items as "sold out." Its really inconvenient. Their management needs to fix this. read more

Tonight, my entire experience with this place was terrible. I had to call twice just to get an answer. Had to repeat everything at least three times before she understood my order (I spend half the day on the phone helping customers, and am quite certain I was speaking clearly). Only diet drink choices were tea and diet orange Crush - nothing regular like Diet Coke or Pepsi. Food took over an hour when we live 5 mins away, arrived barely luke warm, and tasted like steamed, flavorless mush (ordered happy family). Steamed rice was also barely warm and tough. Husband found rope-like piece of plastic in his food (pork lo mein). Came with 1 fork, 1 spoon (we didn't order soup or anything that would require a spoon) and zero soy sauce. Will not be ordering from here again. What a waste of $20! read more

It's just not that great of Chinese food. To me you are way better off going to Chen's in lufkin or Hunan's.

Ordered for the first time last night. Everything tasted great. I highly recommend the garlic tofu.

They're food is so good! Every time I order they deliver it so quick and the food is always so fresh, I recommend 10/10.

Fairly good Chinese food. They appear to do most of their business as take-out or delivery. I had the Szechuan pork and shrimp. It was pretty good, lots of meat, had a little spiciness to it, and was a generous portion. The hot and sour soup was average. They look like they do a steady business, and I can see why. Food is good, prices good. read more

Don't eat here if you have an allergy ----I have never had a worse experience than what I had tonight ordering and dealing with this restraunt. I placed my order by phone and was very clear that my order was to have no mushrooms (I have a good allergy). The waitress repeated the order exactly and I went there at the time the food was supposed to be done, and even tipped the waitress (cause food service people doing covid deserve more). I get the food home and open it and there is a large mushroom stem and piece of mushroom head. I had my boyfriend try them to verify they were infact mushrooms before I called back. when I did call back it took 15 minutes for the staff to figure out what to do constantly putting me on hold or repeating my statement in English / Spanish. the staff insists that the chef did not put mushrooms in it and I told them that I have an allergy and can't eat it, and maybe it ended up in my food from another orser. they continue to ensist I must be wrong, and to return to the food to them with the mushrooms. I tell them I will return the food and that they should have another plate fixed when I get back to the restaurant. This exchange took over 15 minutes. Which considering the issue was dealing with an allergy and their mistake is absolutely ludicrous. I returned to the restaurant with the food which they promptly open and root around in food looking for mushrooms with the older women and cook shaking Thier heads saying no no no speaking Spanish back and forth. I tell there are no more mushrooms, my boyfriend made sure they were actually mushrooms before starting all this ( cause why on Earth would I want more food or to return to the restaurant at 9 pm. I just want SAFE food). They say they needed the mushrooms, never offered me a replacement meal, and kept saying I was lying about mushrooms being in the meal. I told them what if I had ate it and ended up in the hospital, where they going to pay for that? After basically being called a lair about the mushrooms the refunded me for my meal (not all our food just mine) and the tip. Its a FOOD ALLERGY, you dont mess with that as a food service establishment,. You fix the problem not call your costumer a liar! Completely unacceptable and irresponsible of them and totally unprofessional, just fix another 6 plate of food not debate with me, did through the food, call me a lair, and then tell me to calm down! read more

The sesame chicken was clutch except they forgot to put the sesame seeds on it. Good delivery service. Will be ordering again.

I'm happy to have found a place that offers some good tofu options! I was incredibly happy with the lunch portions and all that came with it. Two huge scoops of rice, a nice helping of the main entree, a soup or egg roll and a drink. I had ordered the Garlic Tofu and it was excellent! It had a slight 'kick' to it and I was pleasantly surprised by this. I was given a choice between steamed or fried tofu and went with the fried and it was great. The egg drop soup was also really good! I'm pretty picky when it comes to egg drop soup and I was happy to be able to enjoy it. The pricing is also spot-on. Definitely going to become one of my favorite regular take-out places. I love that it is close to campus so I can easily grab something to eat when I have a longer wait in between classes. (They also give a discount to SFA students!) read more

I'm a very picky Chinese eater, for years I have only eaten panda express. I have not ventured out to eat any other Chinese, panda café was the first. I was very pleased with my experience, the food was great. No fountain drinks, only cheap canned soda. I would even choose it over panda express, I was not pleased with it. Panda express is kind of my safety zone for Chinese food. I've only been here once, I always order chow mein, or noodle, orange chicken, and fried rice. Orange chicken was juicy. The noodles weren't too big, and text should just write, and the rice was good as well. I was pleased with the service, it is a small place, and could be cleaner, seem kind of dirty and some measure. I like the feel of the place though, I love good hole in the walls. Four out of five times I probably choose to eat at pecking which is right down the street. But if you were looking for a new place this is your place. read more

It is ok. Hot and sour soup lacks spices kind of bland. If you are told to make it spicy why can't you? Do not understand this is the second time with this experience. I probably will go back one day. Nacogdoches doesn't know how to make Chinese food very well. read more

Food was good. I had the beef with hot garlic sauce and it could have been hotter for my taste but the mix of vegetables with it was delicious. My wife had the cashew shrimp and she enjoyed it. Previous reviews had said it's not the place to eat in but we ate lunch there for a late lunch and if you enjoy watching TV while you eat it isn't bad. PS the crab rangoons are delicious but very hot. read more

you have to choose a star, but I give this place No stars, when you shake so much from being too cold that your fork shakes the food off, this deserves no return visit, the people were nice, but by the time we sat down our food was ice box cold! The coldest night we have seen all year 32degrees outside, they have the air conditioner on? Told an employee, he said he would adjust the thing, but kitchen stays so hot, well if you have no customers , you need No kitchen! I think inside was colder than outside, I know it was colder than the inside of my ice box! read more

Orange chicken, their supposed mainstay, was over-fried, over-breaded, and yuck. Everything we had was yuck. Chow mein noodles reminded me of the La Choy noodles, except soggy. Yuck. Very salty. Maybe it was a bad night, but I don't plan on being back. Disappointed. I miss Wendy's. read more

Food here is pretty good, not overly cooked in oil and seasoned well. I like the bourbon chicken or sweet and sour chicken. You have to call for delivery at least 2 times because they are always busy with deliveries. It's faster to just call ahead and pick up yourself. read more

I am going to walk through the meal with you as I eat it, I ordered General Tso Chicken, extra spicy. Delivery time: under 30 mins Cost: $10 Delivery service was polite food: hot Contents of bag: Aluminum tray with Gen Tso Chicken, Box of rice, wantons, fortune cookie, fork, sweet/sour sauce, soy sauce, piece of cardboard for heat protection. Gen. Tso chicken: Large portion, very large pieces (would be impossible to eat if I didn't have a knife or with chop sticks) surrounded by broccoli, which is nice but only partially steamed, though it is very mild on the spice. Fried Rice: Dry on top, a little clumpy, moist in center, some steamed rice got mixed in, too dry overall to finish. Wantons: I don't eat Wantons so I have no basis for comparison Fortune cookie: Fresh... "The only thing sure about luck is that it will change." Overview: Pros: Only Chinese Delivery Service in town (Delivery options in Nac: Pizza, Jimmy Johns, and Panda), Quick service, Polite/ happy drivers, large portions. Cons: Hard to understand person taking my order (heavy oriental accent), Spicy food only mild (I give the spicy factor a 5/10, 1=milk 10=OMG MY MOUTH IS ON FIRE), Cost (JJ delivers and I can get a large sub and a drink for under $10), food quality is par. I may order again if I feel like Chinese and can't leave where I am... It is definitely better than Panda Express. read more

Food is good and delivery is fast once you order. However, getting them on the phone sometimes is difficult. There has been multiple times I've called and they immediately put me on hold... Which would be fine but I always wait 10+ minutes and they never come back to the phone. Then if you hang up to ring them again, it's "busy" because the phone is still on hold from when you called. Best Chinese food in the area right now. You get a lot for your money, crab rangoons are good, and the staff is always friendly.

They are not even worthy of one star....I just recently ordered and repeated my order over several times to the worker who takes orders "I want a lunch serving with beef plank steak with a side of white rice" he responded "so you would like fried rice with beef and a side of white rice" I told him "NO I want a lunch serving with beef plank steak with a side of white rice" he exclaims "oh ok gotcha" I receive my damn order and guess what I get! A side of white rice with fried race with beef steak in it....Jesus effing christ..it is not hard to get a simple order such as that WRONG...I did contact him as soon as I opened my plate of food...i called the place to let them know you messed up my order and this fool tells me" oh yea, sorry...*awkard pause*, well theres nothing we can do about it since it has already been delivered" ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME.....I guess this was my fault as I have ordered from them before and the (take a lucky guess) screwed up my order...Ive worked with food before plenty of times and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt...and they screw up once again...It's already bad enough you have mostly mexicans working there, (not authentic food), roaches in your building and it smells like sewage on the inside (go visit and you can see for your self) but you have the audacity to screw up my order, and then say "oh well there is nothing we can do about it"...long story short....do NOT order from these ppl...you are better off frying your own Ramen Top Noodles in a pan and adding egg to it..more authentic they you'll get with these ppl. p.s. the food is not that good or worth the hassle read more
