I don't normally write reviews for fast food places, as I generally know what to expect, but this time is different... After driving back late from Anaheim, my wife and I decided to stop by this particular location near where we live for a quick dinner. Upon our turn at the drive thru, I requested the honey walnut shrimp as part of my combo plate, which they informed me would take about 7 minutes to make. Not wanting to wait after my long car ride, I asked for Beijing beef instead. The girl working the window politely and quickly received my payment, handed me my food, and home I went. Once home and settled, I went to open the bag and noticed a small extra container in with everything else. Inside the little red box was a decent portion of the honey shrimp, which they were nice enough to gift me! That little bit of extra customer service has sold me on this location! I love Panda Express although there's something wrong with this location, I've here twice already and their noodles always taste burnt, the noodles aren't burnt themselves, it's just that they taste burnt. I have a feeling that the burnt taste comes from reusing the same pan more than once. The worst thing about this! Is that this is the only location in North county that's open when I get off work (11:00pm) !! I haven't been here in a while! I'm actually avoiding this place.. Panda Express is usually pretty fair quality and decent service for fast food. However, this particular Panda Express is, without doubt, the worst of its kind. I recently went there to have lunch and attempted to pay with cash - $1 coins. The restaurant refused to accept them, though acknowledging they were legal tender, with the lying excuse that their bank won't take them. What nonsense. I expect much better from a national chain, and my experience at the other local Panda Express has been exemplary in comparison. Stay way from this particular Panda. read more

It's been a really long time since I ate here. Never again!! The chow main was horribly dry and burnt ... literally black on most of the noodles, the beef and broccoli was "alright", the pepper chicken was disgusting (mostly chewy and fat). Bang for your buck Chinese food. I use the receipt for a free entree...so I order the plate with chow mein and get 3 entrees all for under 8.00. There are some 'authentic' Chinese places around but 9.00 for noodles ain't filling me up. I grew up eating Chinese food, from hole in the wall places to fancy ones. I can say I had Chinese food at least 5 days a week growing up and fast food other days. PE is far from authentic but hey it's cheap and filling. read more

My husband and I stopped by this store. We spoke to the person who waited on us about a person who was digging through the trash inside the restaurant and pulling trash to eat. Previous to us entering the restrauant he asked us to buy him food. After he went through the trash he sat in the restaurant to eat it. No one spoke with the gentleman about his needs after we let them know. Our disappointment was that we were ignored about helping him as it was obvious he was homeless. We have eaten here a number of times but unfortunately will have to go somewhere else in the future. read more

Been sick all week, but I gotta eat so I head to the drive thru yesterday, place my order and get to the window to pay. F@#$@#. I left my wallet at home. I'm all doped up on Nyquil and tylenol. I look up at the window all sad and inform the lady at the window that I left my wallet at home and apologize. She recognizes me cause i go there all the time and tells me what the total is and tells me that I can pay next time? HUH? How much Nyquil did I drink? She gives me my lunch and I drive off. 5 stars as far as panda express can go. Since there are like 4 in escondido now.. for whatever reason, this is by far the best location. The owners are in here a lot, and they really take care of you, super nice, super friendly and they always have the food ready. Sometimes i just need a fix of panda express. While staying at a nearby motel, I had several occasions to eat here - both during slow times and busy meal rushes. This place is the Nordstrom of Panda Expresses! Fantastic service from employees who seem truly happy to be there, with fresh and delicious food. Compared to the typical experience and dismally prepared fare served at mall food-court locations, I actually had to look up at the sign as I exited, to double-check I really WAS at a Panda Express! This location has been our go to since we moved to this side of town. Most of the time, everything is perfect. We always get rice and/or chow mein, and double orange chicken.There are two things that knock off a star: 1) The portions are very inconsistent. Sometimes the person gives you a really good amount of OC. Other times, the person gives you too little. They are never as bad as pik up stix though. 2) The food is not always super fresh. This problem has only been REALLY bad two times, count them, one, two. The latest was last weekend. There have been other times where it is not super fresh but still acceptable. I have no idea how many times I have been here but it has been quite a lot, so two times is not so bad. I just had to mention it because it happened at my last visit. THE GOOD: The orange chicken here is the best in my opinion. You don't really taste the meat but it is still good and the sauce is amazing. I have never had chow mein from anywhere else, it is really good, but has too many vegetables (not bad enough to knock off a star). The portions are good most of the time. A little background before going into my recent experience of this Panda Express and why I rated it 2 out of 5 stars. My wife and I occasionally go to this Panda Express due to the convenience of the location and the drive-thru that is available. My wife usually gets her Panda Bowl with white rice and teriyaki chicken with extra sauce on top and I usually get a variety of food every time to change things up. They are usually very easy to work with when ordering and spot on most of the time. From time to time we might have to go in order to have them get their sauce game "on point" when it comes to their teriyaki chicken due to not receiving that much sauce from the drive-thru. But this time when we went through the drive-thru we have received a different experience and I have submitted this in their survey that they offer to rate them: While ordering my wife and I food through the drive-thru, the employee taking our order kept making mistakes while I was clear on what I wanted to order. I wanted to have a bowl to start out with and the intercom kept on going out and once it came back on then the employee got more frustrated with what were ordering. By the time of ordering a second item, the first order was turned into a plate item which I didn't want to order but was assumed I wanted to have. The order was taken incorrectly and had to correct the order twice all the while the intercom system kept going out. Once the employee had the intercom back on the order was taken incorrectly and from there we noticed the manager or a more experienced employee had to take over in order to get our order correct. We received some attitude from the first employee by the way of her tone of voice becoming more aggravated from us ordering even though the intercom system was going out but the order kept on being wrong from what we saw on the ordering screen in the drive-thru. The manager or more experienced employee got our order correct the first time and was able to receive our food in a timely manner. The manager or more experienced employee was able to save the day when it came to ordering our food but the underlying feeling that we have been treated poorly still sits with us. We might not come back to this establishment due to the poor service we received from the first employee. read more

What can ya say...They are the "Fast Food, Non Fast Food" option for some good ole Chinese food. I will give it to the Panda folks...every location, this one included, is always clean and well organized and the service staff always seem to be well trained. I came into this location a week or so ago to grab dinner for the wifey and numchkin, sometimes the craving for orange chicken just hits I guess. The number of people in line was longer than I had seen in it a long while so I immediately began to plan an exit strategy having totted an 2 year old in that had an overabundance of energy that day. I was very surprised to quickly notice that the line was moving well faster than I expected. The gal that took my order was very smiley and even asked if my daughter needed a kids drink or something to keep her busy. I was very thankful for the slight added attention. When chain establishments do it wrong we all hear about it...But this Panda is doing it right. read more

This has become my Panda Express location of choice in the area. Compared to the one on Nordahl, this place seems to have fresher food... haven't had a bad dish here yet. The service here is great... always friendly. The inside of the place is always clean as well. Every time I come in, I see someone sweeping up and wiping the tables. It's nice seeing how much they care about keeping the place tidy. The drive through is another plus. read more

I've been to this panda a lot and every time I go through the drive thru they see me and don't give me any chopsticks and I usually ask them for it and then they give me a couple. This time when I asked they gave me one even though I ordered three panda bowls and had to ask again. However when my ethnic orders they see him and always puts chopsticks in his bag. This is racist. Yes I'm white but I know how to use chopsticks, it's not rocket science. Also on another note, they hear things wrong quite and bit and get orders wrong. read more

I've started going to this Panda Express because the drive thru is faster and walk in service is faster as well. Went thru the drive thru today and a sweet, smiling lady named Agnes was working the window. She is so chipper and helpful, definitely five star customer service. If she's not already a manager she should be so she can teach customer service to her coworkers and hopefully the location on valley on parkway as well because their customer service leaves a lot to be desired! read more

I am not a real big fan of Panda Express as it seems so hit and miss. I prefer Pick Up Stix for take away or Chin's when I have a little more time. While I was at Lowe's picking up some flowers for my yard I kept smelling the garlic in the air and it was driving me crazy. So I decided to go get something since it was right there.The drive thru was packed, but I was the only person in line inside and waited for what seemed like an eternity for someone to help me. While I was waiting, the only cook put out fresh orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli and mushroom chicken. I was tempted to leave but for once everything was fresh. I ordered a three item combo and got orange chicken, sweet and sour pork and asked for the b.b.q. pork. The girl told me it would be about five minutes, I said I would wait and she seemed surprised. She went in the back and came right out with a tray of pork, hmmm. When I opened up my food at home is when things really fell apart. There was hardly anything in the tray, that answers why the bag seemed so light. The rice was crunchy from being under cooked which I found to be real nasty but I was so hungry I ate it anyway. The orange chicken and sweet and sour pork was good (for American-Chinese), the b.b.q. pork passable and at least warm. After I was done I made half a roast beef sandwich to fill me up the rest of the way. Lesson learned next time when I have that craving I will just save my $7 and change to hit up one of my other favorite places. read more

ZERO customer service. 2 of the workers were so busy talking about getting high that they couldn't help anyone in line. Then a 1.5 minute wait for egg rolls turned into 15 minutes of waiting. They ignored us, and then said please wait. I won't waste another minute or dollar here. And management, besides having an untrained team, your crew passes out free food to all their friends, while PAYING customers have to sit and wait for a new batch. The one star is for the Asian face short haired lady in black shirt. I guess she's supervisor or manager. I asked for a kids meal, she told me only 4 shrimps would be given. I said it was ok but she kept convincing me getting normal combo. Ok, i get it. So I switched shrimp to veggie mix and asked her just add another entree shrimp. And again she kept saying its not worth it cos it's only 7 shrimps would be given. I'm not first time shopper don't need your suggestions, which actually annoyed me a lot cos her unclear speaking and poor communication skill. Just give me one kids meal and one walnut shrimp entree. That's it! She still didn't follow and blah blah blah....until i asked her for just a kids meal no more shrimp. She was very unhappy and went in a corner nobody could see her to get the shrimps out from the box then came out to scooped the veggie mix. After i paid by my card, i found out i was overcharged 1.95 by one extra item which was spring roll. I never like nor ordered spring roll in my whole life here. I told cashier right away and she was confused too. She asked for the asian lady to come fix it, and the asian lady took my card away to her office for a while, then came back and told me she refunded me already. I asked her how? Where is receipt? She said i need trust her and no receipt for that. And she said it's only 2 dollars anyway with a very disgusting fake smile! No apology at all. she's the worst manager I've ever seen in Panda Express! Forgot to mention there was only one customer ahead of me, but both of us kept waiting for 10 mins cos no one came up to us at a not busy time. Bad management! read more

Place is nice and clean. The food is good and the service is good and quick. I usually have limited time for lunch so this place works out great. The prices are decent. Kung Pao chicken is always good and the food tastes fresh. They have a drive-through so they have to cook constantly and there is always fresh food at lunch time.
