I finally visited and dined-in the Clarksville, IN Panda Express after many years driving by it. A local school band had a fund-raiser there so my wife and I wanted to support the cause. There was a moderate line waiting, but moved along smartly. The food looked fresh and smelled yummy. I was going to just order a BOWL, but ended up getting the next bigger size meal which included half rice and half noodles with TWO entrees. The amount of food was PLENTY and everything tasted very good. I plan on returning sometime to sample some other fare. There is an up-charge for steak or shrimp entrees which doesn't hurt my feelings. I had 2 chicken dishes, one of which is the "World-famous" Orange Chicken. I was pleased with everything I ordered and my wife was happy also. Both of our meals totaled $15 and change which seemed VERY reasonable. They gave 20% to the school band for the fund raiser. I would say Panda Express is an asset to our community. There were about 8 workers from what I could tell and the restaurant looked clean and nearly all the seats were filled on this particular evening at dinner time around 7pm. read more

The service was decent. There was no greeting when we entered. The food was a little overcooked or under cooked and the food had been sitting out for a while too and it was just now lunchtime. They were also out of white rice because they were having problems with their steamer which was pretty disappointing. Food was delicious. Not impressed with their staff and motivation to up sell. Fifty cents to upsize my water cup from the shot glass they gave me. Then I ordered an extra egg roll with my meal. When I told the counter staff I wanted one regular egg roll and one spring roll, they gave me one of each then charged me for both in addition to the one that came with the meal. They never once mentioned I was getting three rolls until I pointed it out after the card swipe. Very greedy and unprofessional. I really wanted to fall in love with this place, but, honestly, I was disappointed. I can look past the fact that the woman at the cash register was not very friendly or helpful. What I can't look past, though, is the food. Chinese lo mein is like crack to me--I could eat it all day, every day--but I'm very particular about them. They looked delightful in the display, so of course I ordered them along with a double order of orange chicken. The chicken was just as good as you can get at any other Chinese restaurant, just maybe a bit spicier. The noodles though...were slightly too undercooked and stiff for my liking. I'm not sure what the deal was--if that's just how they do things there or if the staff was just slacking (my friend said her rice and veggies were the same way, so maybe that's just how they do things there). This is the third time I have been to this establishment and been told they had little to no food selection up to an hour before they close. If you are open until 930 pm why do you stop serving paying customers at 830-845? Seems like really bad business to me. Seems as if the staff just wanted to leave at close. There is really something to be said about the small privately owned Chinese restaurants from the shadier side of the bridge. Some of them causing serious gastrointestinal issues and some seriously amazing. It's hit or miss...and as weird as it sounds, I had built a lifetime around finding out which ones were which. Over on this side - it's limited. Very limited. And Panda Express, had me quite curious...with it's chain-like store front. It stays packed. And of course they had movie and TV. show endorsements. So I thought hmmm...we should try this, with their most famous purple Chinese takeout boxes with their logo on the side. I longed for one of those boxes. Until we went. It was...like...how do I describe it to someone who's never been there? Do you know Moe's the Mexican restaurant? Well, it's like Moe's, with a different twist, much less patience and of course there isn't the "WELCOME TO MOES!" when you walk through the door. It's rush, rush, rush. You can try samples of things, until you realize there is a line of people backing up behind you and around the restaurant. Prices aren't really that clear. Their board is a bit confusing. Two main dishes and a side dish for x amount of dollars - well where I'm from that would feed two people, but here that's a spoonful of a two main dishes and a heaping portion of the side dish. It was backwards. I was confused. Outta my element. And underneath the signage it said the one meal we were ordering was enough to feed two? Umm...okay, maybe guinea pigs, but not full-sized humans. Literally it was a ladle full of one main dish and a ladle full of another...but then we both went with the "crab Rangoon," which the lady readily admitted was a dollar extra but contained no crab?? Whaaa??? It wasn't even an ounce of food. I'm all about portion sizes here...but I'm from a town where we order Chinese it lasts for dinner, lunch and dinner the next night. So, we get home. We dig into our separate meals that "could have fed two" (mice on a full stomach) and well...everything was like out of that Steven King movie...umm..what was the name of it...The Langoliers. Where they get to the future and the future hasn't happened yet so all the food isn't stale but it's tasteless. I've never tasted Chinese food like this before. And I've eaten at Chinese restaurants that have left me heaving over the porcelain god for days on end, wondering why....and leery of Chinese food for years. Although that did only happen once...but I digress. Panda Express with all my Chinese Food experience, is a decent concept...but for the love of all that is crab meat - ADD SOME SPICE TO THE LIFE! And lastly clearly state your menu prices, wow. Even when you go into Moe's and you are wondering around in circles trying to figure out what a "Closer Talker" is, they don't keep pushing you through the line demanding what you want - pointing to an obscure menu. Oh how I wished the drive-thru hadn't been blocked by an expensive car and a delivery van. I think even with the bland food, our experience would have gone a little better. But I can honestly say...we will just have to wait til next year for some good ol' Kentucky Chinese food...ok, yes, I'm aware of the oxymoron there. :p lol. read more

You really don't get as much food here as you would get at Max Orient in Outer Loop. It's also more expensive than M.O.'s and with the food tasting as bland as it does I don't think I want to spend that kind of money for so little. The MSG in the food is also very high (despite there being no taste) so prepare to eat more food five minutes after you eat here. read more

I only gave a 1 star rating because it wouldn't allow me to give it zero stars. When they 1st opened this location it was amazing, we would eat here several times a week & we enjoyed it! However the past year it has really gone downhill. They never have any food available, it doesn't matter what time of day we try to go, they are always out of everything! This means you have so many people waiting for food that when they finally fix a dish, it's gone quickly. I've had to leave without my food the past 3 times I've tried to eat here because I just couldn't wait any longer. Now their grill has been down for 3 weeks! Was not impressed with the selection or lack there of. Never seen a Chinese restaurant that didn't have General Tso chicken! Didn't like the lo mein noodles they were a little tough in texture compared to every other restaurant I've been to. The Beijing Angus Steak was good and the Orange Chicken was ok. There were a lot of dirty tables that no one was cleaning. As far as value goes I think it was a little overpriced for what you get. read more

Their new campaign with General Tso chicken made me want to try it out. I went they today, through the drive thru, and was ordering and when I was told, "Sorry," they were out of General Tso chicken. I just spent 5minutes waiting to get my order taken in the drive thru, when there was only one car ahead of us. Once we reached the window the manager informed me that he just got back from the bank and told me that he personally would make our order. Let me start by saying this is one of the slowest "fast food" places I've ever been too . I don't know if they pluck the chickens as you order or what but man they are slow . I pulled up to the drive thru and order some "sweet fire chicken" bowl and a drink . It was 9 dollars . I was like wow no noodles or nothing just chicken and a drink for 9 dollars ... Well I pull up to the window and look at my clock and it was 5:27 I got my drink and they said my chicken would be right out .and of course I had to pay so I wouldn't dive off from waiting forever. By the time I got my chicken it was 5:49. I understand because the chicken was fresh but they didn't say oh we just dropped it or just started it or whatever . They left us waiting . I get the chicken and start thinking like ... 7$ for some chicken that comes in a little box with 3 pieces of chicken and extra veggies ? The chicken was tasteful and we enjoyed what little bit I did have. I may give it another try but the drive thru is a no go for us . Avoid this place if your in a hurry . The absolute worst location I've ever been to! We purchased food through the drive thru and came home to eat what was mushy rice and obviously stale orange chicken. Went back to exchange my food for fresh food & the girl in the drive-thru analyzed how many bites were taken out of the food and would only give me fresh food to replace the couple bites that were missing. Needless to say, we demanded a refund. We decided to give it another shot today (a few months later) the same girl was working the drive-thru and let us know that our food wasn't quite ready. She had us pull around to the parking lot to wait and told us she would bring out food to us. Waited for just under 30 minutes in the parking lot! WORST customer service and food ever!! Like the other reviews on this page the service is undesirable. I've been here several times but ask myself why I go back they are under staffed the portions are lacking from other Panda Express locations. I really like the Panda Express menu but this location will leave you in total frustration. We went first time they had the drive through blocked because they did not have enough employees to run the drive thru and the front of the restaurant. When my wife inquired to there was a car blocking it they purposely blocked drive through service.. We went tonight line was long only one employee working the front counter, out of many menu items, tables dirty, drink counter a disaster. The employee at the counter obviously trying her best but could not keep up and frustrated when asking the cook for items she was out of he was un responsive and she got irritated and said hey can you at least acknowledge me! When we finally paid I said looks like you need some help and are understaffed she agreed and was just trying to get through her shift. The franchise owners here are missing the boat. The brand is a good brand but obviously this franchise owner don't get it. We've been burned to many times at this location. read more

Why? Why do I continue coming to this place when the service is horrible, the food is room temperature by the time I get it, and the wait is way too long? I always tell myself, it won't be as bad as last time. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt, they are short staffed, just be patient. But every single time, I am proven wrong. The fastest I've gotten through the drive thru was last night. One car was ahead of me. It took me about 12 minutes. Doesn't sound long but when you are in a car with young kids, it feels like 12 hours. Normally they make you pull around & wait for 20 minutes. You think I'm exaggerating? I'm not! They almost always are out of chicken teriyaki. I have decided I won't be going back until management does something about it. And yes, I have left a message twice telling them about my experience. I don't see any change & after reading other reviews, see I am not the only one who feels this way. Side note- I just read anothers review saying people are being too hard on this location and these are young kids. I don't blame the kids, I blame management. I worked at a fast food chain as a teen and we were expected to give nothing but the best to our customers, regardless of how many we had to serve. Management stayed on top of us to ensure it was done. So again, it's on management. *update 8/10/16* I waited a few months hoping things have gotten better. Went through the drive thru a little after 5 pm (prime time for dinner when things should be prepared!) and guess what? They were out of chicken teriyaki and told me it would be a minimum of 8 minutes which as I already know from experience = at least 20 minutes of waiting. I told her to cancel my entire order. I am a elementary school teacher who gets a thirty minute break for my lunch. I decided to come to Panda Express because it's conveniently located to my school and orange chicken sounded lovely. I checked the time the store opened on the weekdays and was pleased to see it was ten thirty because I could quickly get the the restaurant and get back before my children got back from their lunch. I decided to go through the drive through, rookie mistake, the drive through lights were all off and their was no one taking orders. Thinking maybe the drive through didn't open until later, I decided to walk inside. Yet another rookie mistake. The doors were locked and after looking inside, the staff were all surrounding the buffet bar on their phones. I knocked on the door to see if anyone had heard me and they looked up at me and continued to go back on their phones. It is now eleven and I was not able to get my orange chicken or enjoy my break. I will not go back to this restaurant and will let my other coworkers know from now on, go to Chick-Fil-A! read more

during a trip to Lexington KY we stopped at a panda express and enjoyed the buffet, banking on that one experience, we decided to try the one on Veterans pkwy.. BIG mistake! this one is set up cafeteria style, herded through like cattle, placing three separate orders to go would've seemed simple, think again, apparently the serving staff was untrained or just didn't care! supposedly two young ladies were taking care of us, turns out the second person was attending to someone else's order! so after paying and leaving the establishment, we realized we were missing one of the meals, went back inside to find out where the other one was and the girl that attended to us stated we only ordered two plates, after I know for a fact I repeated the orders to her TWICE! her attitude was very unprofessional, unwillingness to correct the problem, even to the point she argued with me about the third order! and to add insult to injury, we get back home, the first two meals are cold now, the replacement meal was old food, I made the mistake of waiting by the register instead of watching what she was doing while preparing it, so my partner ended up with something that probably was dug from the trash can.. will NOT return, no telling what would happen upon another visit. save your time and money, avoid this location and go elsewhere, it'll save you from the experience I endured! a pure disgrace! read more

The food is okay for what it is. Some things are better than other depending on what you like. This particular location is hit and miss. So I'll go with the worse experience since we have had more than one. They are very inconsistent in how much they fill the trays with food. I've gone there and they have been out of brown rice. Or simply it's too late to make some even though it was over and hour and a half before closing. Oh and God forbid you are ask to pull around front for your order. They may be out in 10 minutes or 30 minutes. If you order an egg roll you may nor may not get it if you don't check it coming out of the drive-thru.
