This was my second visit here and I brought friends. There was 8 of us on this visit. I believe you could sit 12 together. I was impressed how the girl that served us remembered me from a couple months ago on my first visit with a friend. We had wonderful service. The restaurant is very clean. Yhe food is very fine. I haven't had Korean food anywhere else, but trust this is one of the best. On my first visit I had Beef Bulgogi and it was wonderful. I mention that to our group of eight and I think four ordered Beef Bulgogi. I ordered 6 piece Mandu ( 3 veggie, 3 Beef ). I also ordered the Veggie Pancake and Chunks of chicken. It was ALL excellent. Everyone was well pleased with their choices and several were trying Korean food for the first time. I highly recommend K&B to anyone trying Korean food for the first time of for those who already know how good it is. Some of us also had the Ginger Honey tea which is so tasty with dregs of ginger at the bottom of the cup. I'm ready to return at any time. read more

My BFF and I decided to try after several high recommendations. I've never had Korean and did not know what to get or ask for. The lady working the counter and what I assume is chef or owner, were so helpful and explained everything to us. I got the Donkagtsu which is fried tenderloin, with rice and salad. She got the ramen and said it was amazing. We also tried Boba tea which was a first for me, and I was amazing that I liked the tapioca balls in it. I got the strawberry which is very much like Strawberry quick and she said the honey melon taste like you think and was delish! We definitely plan on coming back! As a fan of Asian food I'm always looking to try a new restaurant and as I haven't been to many Korean restaurants I decided, after hearing many great things, to stop in to Kim & Bab in New Albany. Kim & Bab offers a menu of 13 different meals all ranging from various dishes involving beef, pork or chicken some paired with noodles or seaweed. I decided to try on this visit their Dak-Kangjung which is fried marinated boneless chicken with their sweet soy sauce and some white rice on the side. You have a choice of a small, medium or large and since I was rather hungry on this trip I decided to go with the large. The large portion offers around 14 pieces of boneless chicken topped with sweet soy sauce or your choice of spicy hot sauce. The chicken was crispy but delicious and went well with the white rice. I also ordered for a drink their mango boba with strawberry popping bubbles. Everything tasted rather delicious but not as tasty as I hoped for. The chicken was well cooked however the rice tasted a bit cold. The environment here is a very casual one with some k-pop music playing on a TV. Lots of places to sit and you order at the counter. They wouldn't let me try one of the sauces as I was told they would charge me just to try a sample which I've never had a restaurant do before and I found that odd as how is someone supposed to know if they will like it or not. While I do recommend coming here this is not the place I'll be going out of my way to come back at eat at. The offerings and the food was tasty but not as good as I'd hoped and I wasn't pleased at all with the rice being a bit cold nor being told I'd be charged just to try a sample of one of their sauces. read more

Kind of disappointed this time around. Came on a Thursday night 7pm and they ran out of bibimbap. And the owner was kinda rude to the cashier when the cashier was taking my order, when the owner interrupted her to tell her they had run out. I ordered their galbi and rice and Kim-Mari instead since I was already there, standing at the register. They do cook very well and the meat was tender and flavorful. We are creatures of habit, I got the lunch special dack-kang-Jung chicken with rice and a drink. Chicken was fried with a light coating and tossed in a sweet soy sauce. I ordered the medium and have half of it to take home. My husband and daughter got the bimbapp with bulgogi. They described it as lightly spiced, refreshing and filling carrots cucumbers onions and more on a bed of rice top with a fresh fried egg. Very impressed with the service and quality of this establishment. Everything is super clean, and the employees make it a point to explain what all of their sauce options are and give recommendations. My entree was the JapChae Tofu (pan fried sweet potato glass noodles with vegetables, rice, scrambled egg, tofu), which was amazing, and amped up considerably with the addition of gochugang sauce. Also had the Mandu beef dumplings, which were yummy. But the star of the show hands down was the DKJ Small Spicy Hot (Fried marinated boneless chicken in spicy sauce). This chicken was INCREDIBLE. Like so good I would make a special trip just to get it. The pieces are big and juicy and the sauce is spicy, but not blow your head off spicy. They play k-pop on a tv and it just made the whole vibe perfect. I will definitely be back. read more

Bibimbap was very disappointing with watered down Gochujang that the only thing I could taste was sugar. It was so watery it left a puddle of liquid on the bottom. Too skimpy on ingredients and too little rice. And bean sprouts should be one of the top main ingredients but was missing. Never seen cabbage in bibimbap. And a roll of kimbap with no special ingredients was $7. Way overpriced and quite disappointing. Perhaps other entrees were better at this restaurant but I wasn't impressed with two of the most basic and popular Korean dishes. read more

The first time, we spent just under $40 for two for lunch and got two KimBab bulgogi (think cooked large sushi rolls), two bubble teas, and a double order of Mandu beef (ground beef in fried mini wrappers). It was a good amount of food, but maybe a bit on the expensive side for lunch. The food was tasty and I liked the tea. The second time, we spent just over $30 for two for lunch and got one KimBab with bulgogi, one Bibimbab with chicken (it's a bowl with veggies, chicken, noodles), small order of Mandu, and small order of Kim-Mari (rice noodles wrapped in seaweed and deep fried). Again, a good amount of food and the bowl was quite filling. So, overall verdict - not the cheapest, but can be healthy, real food, quick to get, good for carry out, and I recommend it for lunch or dinner. Give them a shot! read more

Consistently good, inexpensive, flavorful food. The ramyun is on point, and so is the bibimbap. Be careful ordering your food as spicy, though--it'll light your mouth up. Try the kimmarie. I have dined here on three separate visits. I have enjoyed everything I have tried. My favorite is the Ttokbokki. I love spicy, and this hits the mark. The owners and or employees are extra helpful and accommodating. The prices are not out of line, for the quality of food. My son, enjoyed the Boba tea. I also, recommend the dumplings. I'm sorry but you guys are wrong on this one. I usually order three to four items when I visit a Korean fast casual restaurant. I ordered the spicy ramen with egg, Kim maru (fried noodle stuff seaweed wrapper) and a vegetarian kimbap roll with a side of kimchi. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and very quaint and the owner is very nice. I want to mention that I was literally the only diner in the restaurant. The food came out pretty slow, which as surprising. The Kim maru was so incredibly bland and taste of rotten ocean flooded my mouth. I've had this dish hundreds of times in Korea and it tasted nothing like that. The kimbap was next. The at $6.99 for something that costs $1.5 in Korea is hard enough, but when the roll is all rice with no filling, it bothers me. Bland. Ramen at most Korean joints are just packaged Shin ramen you can get for a dollar or two at the store. I know this so my expectations are already super low. Wow. Horrible. Way too much water. No egg as advertised. Raw onion. Noodles weren't cooked all of the way. I never received my kimchi. I understand all I have to do is ask for it but when I am literally the only person in your restaurant you can't miss those little details. Will never go back here. I don't know what's in the water in Indiana, but this place is downright awful. read more

We came in after movies, and had been told by many friends about it since they know I like the Korean Culture. Surprising enough wasn't what I had expected for a Korean food. My Husband and I had the Ramen, it was okay, not the best I have had and bit spicy for my tastes. My daughter had the Bulgogi beef and rice which she loved, having never tasted it before she had nothing to compare it too. I did try it, it was okay. It was slow night only one other table dinning in, but food came out bit slow for only having 2 tables in. I willing to try them again in the future to see how other menu options are. I have only great things to say about this cute, pristine little establishment. The owners and the staff are really amicable. In the suburbs of New Albany, I'm glad this place exists. However, I do worry that it could do far better business in Louisville, where it has a larger audience. I want Kim + Bab to stay! We ate inside. You order at the counter but then they'll bring it over to you. We were given a spicy sauce and a soy sauce to use at the table. Food was nice and hot. It was clearly fresh, and lacked any grease (which is usually a huge complaint of mine). Also, for any reviews about this place that complain about the price or the food options: this is Korean, not fast, cheap Chinese food (which is good, too, but that isn't the point). There isn't a lot of variety in this specific area of town, and I think the locals are accustomed to spending $7.00 for a huge, takeout Chinese meal and eating on it for days. I'm also concerned people are confused that there's a difference in the two cuisines. If I sound harsh, keep in mind I say this as a former local who grew up only minutes from here. Just know what food is here before you come! You won't be disappointed. My Bulgogi was a small order, which was around $10.00, and it most definitely filled me. We met up with friends from Indiana and gave Kim & Bab a try. There is only limited selection of food, and they are not that big of a portion. It's pretty pricey for the small portion. Each person will have to order a few to call it a dinner. It will be pricey if you want to fill up a bigger stomach. It's not like typical Korean restaurant, but more like fast food style that you order at the counter. The bad part is that it does not serve with side dishes. The kalbi was pretty good, but very small portion comparing with the price. Bimbimbob and kimbab was just ok. If you are in that area and just want to get a quick bite, that could be your choice. However, I prefer going with the actual Korean restaurants in Louisville or Lexington. read more

Such a cute Korean restaurant in Southern Indiana. They have Korean music videos playing in the background, which I love. I often order multiple items and usually get 2-3 meals out of it. Everything I've tried has been so good. The bi bim bap is so fresh, the mandu is delicious, even reheated. I love their japchae and kimbap rolls, with or without bulgogi. I get their kimchi jeon, with has a hint of spice, so if you can't stand spicy food, I would just be aware. I will say their strawberry boba reminds me slightly of strawberry milk, but still great. My favorite is their coffee boba or milk tea boba. They keep a few rotating items that they so seasonally which I enjoy trying. The staff is always nice and patient. They were so yummy and different. We tried both kinds of Mandu (dumplings) the veggie and the beef and I couldn't tell the difference at all! The owner said people get mad sometimes because they think they gave them the wrong ones! I didn't try the Japchae which is kindof like Korean Pad Thai if I had to compare it to something, because I have a Korean friend and she makes it, and I was trying all new things. But it is a delicious dish and I bet these folks make it superbly. Galbi-short ribs. So tasty Dak-kangjung- fried marinated boneless chicken. We got the Spicy Hot sauce (it wasn't too spicy.) This was my 2nd fave...it was huge chunks of chicken very lightly fried and then covered in a kind of spicy sweet and sour sauce. So so so good. And of course fried rice.
