Fried chicken

The food and charm of this restaurant is spot on. If you like an Asian and southern fusion, Chik'n Mi is a great location. Went there this past Saturday and their special was a Thai inspired lemon grass based brother soups with seafood and noodles. I rarely get excited about "soup" but this was delish! Woodear mushroom spring rolls are always a must as well as fried brussel sprouts. Can't go wrong with the fried chicken as well. Nuggets or pieces of chicken are delish, depends on how you feel like eating your chicken! Pork belly bao buns had a great combination of fatty meat with tang of pickle and onions plus a dip in the duck sauce is a must.

Have You Ever??? In My Fantasia Voice... ...passed by the original location and then the new location so many times but when you finally stop by it feels unreal... Well that's what happened when I picked this local place to have dinner for a teeny weeny birthday celebration with my friend. We tried the fried cauliflower as an appetizer and it was DELISH! It has a slight kick that snuck up on you but you definitely didn't mind. We will order it again next time around! I ordered the 3pc mix with the flavor of Sweet-n-Soy, side of fried Brussels sprouts and the bonita fries. Let me tell you something, as Fire Marshall Bill says, those fries were so good and had so much umami. Using a cooking show term, feeling kinda fancy. The glaze on the chicken was light enough to not take away the crispness of the chicken but enough to bring the flavor. I didn't like the fried brussels sprouts as much, almost fried too hard. My friend had the fried chicken sandwich in sweet n soy with fries and said it was really good. We will definitely be back one more time or maybe two

The food at this place was the perfect. It was a fusion style meal. The service was great. The patio seating is really nice. The waiter was able to guide our food choices since it was our first time. The decor is very inviting when you arrive. They have plenty of seating on the patio or inside. This is a unique quaint gem is a must visit

The chicken nuggets were really tender but could use more sauce and the ramen tasted just like chicken noodle soup. The service was very fast and it wasn't very busy despite it being 6:30.

Chik'n & Mi pairs great ramen with an excellent draft beer list and delightful service, every time.

Start the timer at 7:16PM! Sat down. 7:18 greeter came to handle the initial drink order as our server was busy. 7:19 waters served. 7:45 order taken! 7:48 drink served - Johnny 8:01 food served. Ramen on point, would do it every time, drinks were refreshing and it didn't take much time. Everyone loved their food and wanted to come back, it didn't take long for our check. Outdoor seating is great on a nice day, you'll just want to watch that evening sun angle!

Fried Chik'n Steam Buns (3 pc) - Brunch

*from January Went to Chik'n & Mi for the first time and it was awesome! It was super cozy inside and our server was so friendly. We got the fried chicken steam buns, the fried pork egg rolls, the street corn, and the chicken nuggets with sweet soy and hot jeaw bong sauce. My favorite were the steam buns but everything was super flavorful and a 10/10!!

Our server was super helpful in explaining what the sauces and such were considering this was our first time here. The interior was very inviting and despite how packed it was, we were able to get a reservation in right before we arrived during Sunday brunch. I ordered a Miso Pork Ramen and got both spicy and garlic flavor for an extra $1 each. It was delicious but definitely on the saltier side. I really tried to cram all that ramen broth into my stomach before I left but the portion was quite large so I was unsuccessful. As an appetizer, we had gotten the pork buns and fried chicken as it was recommended to us by the server. I really enjoyed the pork buns! I would love to explore this menu more and am definitely going to check it out again. I sense I won't get bored with the diverse menu.

Curry wings with onion sauce

Everyone is friendly and the food is amazing. Have come here countless times and tried everything and never had a bad experience. Probably the best wings in town. I will say if you are shy to a soggy wing get the onion sauce on the side instead.

Amazing date night spot. We stopped here before a concert and had curry ramen and a chicken sandwich. We also had egg rolls, but we devoured those before I got a photo (there were 3 in the order). It was busy in the restaurant, so I'm glad we made a reservation ahead of time. Service was great. Highly recommend!

The service staff was very inclusive and incredibly kind throughout the entire menu process. The vibes of this location were incredible as it is family style and clear that everyone is welcomed here. The staff is very knowledgeable about their food and how they source their ingredients. The chicken ramen was a huge miss for me and I'm sad about it. The broth was bland and flavorless, the chicken seemed unseasoned, but the veggies and noodles were decent. The Brussels were good and savory but not in my top 10 that I've had. The pork egg rolls were the best I've ever had, bar none. The key lime pie was tart and refreshing.

Menu with highlighted gluten free options

Beat the evening rush and was able to find a table indoors. Service from the start was very amicable and prompt. Enjoyed sitting next to a fireplace on a cool night. Waiter asked about allergies and promptly gave me a menu that was off marked with gluten option and what can be made gluten free. Food was amazing, the flavors and tasted very fresh. Definitely recommend this place and hope to one day come back when in the area.

Nice interior, very good service…read more We arrived just before happy hour ended so we took advantage and ordered two appetizers, one pork and one vegetable gyoza. Both were very fresh and delicious. My entree was the Kiwami Shiro (pork broth, scallion, mushroom, bamboo, egg, pulled pork, sliced pork, noodles). The broth was incredible and pulled the whole thing together. I definitely want to come here again and try more items off the menu.

I'm picky about ramen - it has to be delicious, obviously, but also a good balance between quality,…read morevariety of options, taste, temperature, texture, and value. Kiwami comes pretty close to meeting my criteria. Quality: yes. 100%. Excellent ingredients, tasteful decor, sturdy serving bowls, whimsical ladles for slurping broth. Weird that the chopsticks are disposable while other utensils are not. Variety: erm. Yes for people who are not plant-based. I would love to see additional vegan options in all entree categories (tofu poke bowl, please). The veggie ramen was fabulous as was the edamame. Just more. Taste: A+. The broth was complex and glorious, the kale noodles lovely, the toppings (brussels spouts, broccoli, tofu, avocado) all prepared and seasoned perfectly. Temperature: yes. Nice and hot. Perfect. Texture: noodles were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of chew, however toppings were all pretty homogenous in texture. The raw greens on top were a little strange. It would have been nice to have a crispy or crunchy element. Value: I mean, Kiwami is a ramen place on Bardstown Road. I didn't expect a deal. I paid $20 for a bowl of ramen plus tip. Not ridiculous, but also not a price that allows me to visit as often as I would like. Overall, Kiwami has earned my respect and likely repeat business, especially if they add more vegan options and offer a repeat customer discount.

She kept us entertained with her stories, had great recommendations, and was just such a genuinely kind and outgoing person. The food was also so yummy! It's summer and sizzly hot and electrical issues happen. We deal. This would easily have been overlooked if the service or the food had compensated. But our server could not have cared less about us and was aloof and cold, expressionless. Took forever to come to our table and barely checked on us the entire meal. Then, after waiting an eternity, we were both brought the wrong food. Yes, we each were served the wrong dish. We both had ordered scallops and we both got sashimi. We were so hungry that we simply went ahead and ate it so that we could get out of that place. Indifferent waiters do not HEAR well, apparently. I likely won't be back. There are simply too many other good sushi places in Louisville. This was more than simply "one bad night" for the restaurant, in my opinion. It was a composite of "yuck."
