I am used to this Panda Express location being out of several entrees, and they are usually nice to make them. I paid for my Bigger Plate and beverage while they made the entrees. After a 20-minute wait, an employee handed my the bag, but I only received two entrees, and by previous visits, the portions were not even half of what I am used to. There was no apology for the missing item (even though I had paid for the Bigger Plate), and no offer to make it for me. I had to ask for a third item which was not the one I ordered originally. I also asked if I could get a little more of the third entree, and the employee told me that is "this location's new policy"--they measure portions using a serving spoon and not a ladle, which means about half the normal amount of an entree. read more

However there is also one very bad food option which is American Chinese food at its absolute worst. Extreme customer confrontation issues, and very dishonest (or foolish) and we are not fans at all. And looking at the pictures it looks like they have a habit of serving up worms with their broccoli to other customers and I'm not surprised considering our experience here. To be completely honest, I am a HUGE fan of Panda Express, so it's a big frown that I do have to write this poor review. I noticed that every time I order from this restaurant, I noticed the servings of food. Yeah, I know... why complain about the portion I'm eating. Reason why I am is because I would go to any other Panda Express in the city, and I would get a good portion to eat (and to save for later). But if I'm being cheated out on half white rice/half mixed veggies AND the new sesame chicken, it's really absurd. Keep in mind, I used the "Online order" for the first time with this order. The girl taking orders told me there wasn't any so I let someone else in front of me to order while I re-evaluated what I wanted. By the time I was ready there was no orange chicken left in the bowl and she told me there would be a 3minute wait which was fine to me until I sat for more than that waiting. I watched her bring out more chicken as my other entree sat getting cold... 10 minutes go by and she has been serving every other guest the same chicken I was told to wait 3 minutes for. Its been a while since I've worked the fast food industry but to me it makes the most sense to serve in the order of people as they come and she took care of her entire line before giving me what I asked. I got my boyfriend hooked to Panda Express just because of this location. This is one of my favorite Panda Express location. I will never forget the time we were in Chicago and went to the Popeyes that was close by and I went to this Panda instead. He seen how delicious my food looked and ate up my whole plate. The inside of this Panda was clean and kept up. The workers were friendly and didn't mind me sampling the other food they had. I sat inside and ate my food and it was delicious. I definitely ordered my food at a good time because my orange chicken and chow mein was hot and fresh. I liked that my rice didn't have so much of eggs in it and that was fresh and tasty as well. Poor quality Chinese food. We ordered food from this location to celebrate the Lunar New Year and the quality was terrible. The cook has very little skill with Asian food. The rice and noodles are poorly made. The vegetables and meats did not taste fresh, like the food was left out for hours. The server, Betzy, was very slow to serve. I placed an order for pickup at 5:10. When I arrived, they couldn't find my order. We found out it was because an employee had seen the order slip hanging up and threw it away? They started to make my dish, but one of the items was not ready. They said they could switch the item, but obviously I wanted what I paid for so I had to wait an extra 10 minutes. It was extremely frustrating considering I had placed an order an hour ahead of time and was in a rush. They apologized but offered no freebie or coupon that would have promoted good customer service. Check the times then double check the times this place is open. Then call ahead to make sure. Then have a friend that lives closer than you make visual confirmation. The hours vary wildly day to day. I generally like Panda Express, but not this location. I go here frequently because it's close to work, but if there were another location in the area I'd definitely go there instead. The food is the same as all other Panda Express locations, but this location is poorly managed. It is a fast-food restaurant with ready-made food, so you'd think they would know how to re-fill dishes promptly and to keep track of what's starting to run low at peak dinner time. But, no. Two times in the past four days I've gone there and left without buying anything because each time I was told, "we're out, it will be a 7 minute wait." With 6 other fast-food restaurants in the immediate vicinity, I'm not going to wait 7 minutes. I hope other locations keep up the good service and this location gets better. read more

Date of Visit: 12/10/10 Panda Express - OK, so it's a fast-food Chinese franchise in the mall. Some would say 'big deal.' But it brings a breath of fresh air to a food court that needed something different -- and at the way I see the lines sometimes (I have *never* seen crowd control for a mall restaurant before), the people are hungry for it. It's basically your standard fare that you can get at other Panda. The only pet-peeve I have is refills. It would be nice if they offered a free refill on drinks -- everyone else in the food court does it (but I guess I should count my lucky stars they don't serve the drinks in cans! (LOL) ). And if you're lucky, sometimes you get a bit of cabaret along with your food (there are times when Mrs. Wu (not her real name -- she's the one that greets you and wants to always give you a free sample - BTW - that slows down the line, Mrs. Wu) has an argument with a line worker! Negative zero stars. Note: This review is not for the quality of food (pretty much if you've seen one Panda Express you've seen them all) but due to the service and line management. The location was not at all crowded, so there was no reason for such bad service. I wanted a protein (chicken) and steamed mixed vegetables. I thought this would be a reasonably straightforward order. How wrong I was! In the time I went through this line, and given the stress level, I almost felt like packing it in, leaving my food behind, and hightailing it to PF Chang's. I guess things got off to a bad start when a woman with a fake coach bag and her thick-necked male companion cut in front of me. I was willing to let this go - live and let live- but the fact that the two were chattering something fierce (and inane) about the orange chicken, and checking their phones, I reached my personal threshold. I called them on their lack of manners. Then, the woman behind the counter, in very broken English I might add, turns to me and (I guess?) prepares to take my order. I competently rattle off my order, and she is convinced I want shrimp. I probably wasn't being my best self, as Oprah would say, when I said chicken clearly and loudly - the third time I felt like I was yelling into the clown's face at a fast food drive thru. Overall, a needlessly stressful experience, especially when the female gorilla in line behind me - it didn't even concern her - told me to shut up. In short: NEVER GO HERE. read more

I was here yesterday for a quick snack, I purchased two egg rolls and a side of veggie fried rice. The rice was stale, the servers were extremely rude. They didn't acknowledge me while I stood waiting in plain sight and finally when they did come to take my order, they laughed hysterically when I asked for a side of sauce for my rice and mumbled something in Mandarin. I work in north bridge mall and come to this Panda Express multiple times a week and I find it very unfair to charge extra for the shrimp and limit it to only to five pieces. If I'm paying extra shouldn't it be the same amount as any other entree? The people at the counter literally remove shrimp from your plate as they prepare it on your plate to make it exactly five. I mentioned that I come here often and I find it strange that this is something that you do when being asked to pay more money for the shrimp. She responded with "the shrimp are expensive for us."It really just gave me a bad feeling about supporting this business on a multiple day a week basis. I feel that if you charge extra for the shrimp there shouldn't be such an emphasis on counting out 5 tiny pieces of shrimp and then removing them if they accidentally scoop up more than 5. It's quite upsetting especially when you are hungry and willing to pay the up charge. It's just bad customer service. Maybe if there wasn't an up charge that would make a little more sense but even still it seems like a major rip off! I even explained my constant patronage for past 2 years. For the money this place can not be beat. I eat there once or twice a week, the servers always smile and give great service. Two entries and a side plus large drink about $10.40, plus free fortune cookie. Portions very large. Large choice of entries and all that I have had were very tasty.
