The food is always fresh and the service is always good. I haven't really had a bad experience at this location which is refreshing when you're spending your money to patronize a restaurant or place of business. I appreciate good and hard workers that go the extra mile. Shawn took care of me in the drive thru 30 mins before the restaurant closed last night. She was helpful as always. She has taken care of me numerous amount of times inside the restaurant. She carries herself like a manager and I actually thought at first when I met her she was one of the managers because of her attentiveness, her professionalism, and her conduct. She carries herself very well and you can see that she is very seasoned in her line of work. You can tell she has worked in a place of business before and you can tell that she loves what she does. Today I went to this location and ordered my food. They said that part of my order wasn't ready, yet, and that it would be a few minutes. I sat down and waited for about 15 minutes for my food. I was just about to go ask if they had forgotten about me when one of the ladies came over and said it would be 3 more minutes. Shortly after that she came over and told me that actually they were all out of that item! I would have been fine with them running out of something if they had told me from the beginning. It wasn't right to leave me waiting that long just to tell me they didn't have it. I had ordered a plate plus a free entree for the 5 star review I had given them online. I decided to just get a refund and go elsewhere to eat. Bero did the refund and I felt that she had a little bit of an attitude with me. I would have expected her to be more apologetic after leaving me waiting like that. All I asked is that I wanted my free entree to be re-instated since I wouldn't be using it today. She was like, "I can't give you money for something you didn't pay for". Obviously I know that. I was just asking for it to be re-instated, but she was too busy talking instead of listening to what I was saying. I come here regularly and I always round up my change for the childrens hospital. When she refunded me, she didn't even give me back the full $14 that I paid. She refunded me $13.99. I am not worried about a penny, but it was just the principle. If I paid $14 and didn't get anything, why would you not refund me $14 back? I had really liked coming to this location because I liked the food, the cleanliness and the seating. I also thought the service was mostly good even though they have forgot about me and left me waiting a few times before. But after tonight I won't be going back. It's been a couple of years since we had Panda Express (mainly because we discovered an excellent authentic Chinese restaurant in our area). We passed through Barstow on a road trip and decided to get a to-go order from Panda. I downloaded the app and ordered. That part of the experience went well, and our order was ready and waiting when we arrived. The staff were friendly and the place looked clean (did not use the restroom). One problem was the size of the food containers. They seem to have fallen victim to "shrinkflation". The "medium" size entrees we ordered were more like size small, compared to what we used to get. The prices went up considerably (as with everything else it seems these days), and the food itself was not as good as it used to be. The walnut shrimp tasted good, as it used to, but shrimp size itself seemed smaller, and less walnuts all chopped up instead of including a few large pieces as they used to. The pepper steak had some chunks full of fat, some super chewy, and a couple of decently tender pieces (not much meat at all). There was a big chunk of onion that was not properly chopped, taking up room in the container. The asparagus in the dish contained several pieces of the stem that were completely inedible, hard like sticks. One of them was about an inch and a half long and kid-you-not, 1/3" thick! Again, taking up room in the container. This is an extra-expensive entree, too. The orange chicken was just okay, as it always has been, but again, the super-small containers. The teriyaki chicken used to be tender, moist, sliced breast meat. This time, it was fatty chicken thigh meat (cheaper cut, and skin and fat included to add to the weight). The chow mein noodles were just like they used to be - just okay. Will not be returning and have deleted the app from my phone. read more

It's Panda so food is a known quantity but my experience here was exceptional. I like greens, unlike most Pandas, they had them hot, fresh, and ready. The entree items were similarly ready and fresh. The staff were courteous and responsive. A good meal while my EV was charging. Then I used the restroom. It was modern and really pleasantly clean! This location is so very, very much better than the location 4 mile down the road at the Barstow Factory Outlets where no one cares, the bathrooms were a disaster, and food was blah.
