Extremely stringy steak
Stephanie B.

Extremely stringy poor quality steak, not worth the price, beans were like baby food, just mush, also ordered nachos, assumed All wet toppings would be on the side, as it was delivery, but upon arrival sour cream and salsa and pico were all on top rendering more than half of the chips to be a soggy mess. Food is usually great from here I guess just not for delivery

Scallions for what

New management ruined this place. Used to be authentic and tasty, now bland and confusing. My order came with scallions on the side. Why? Then the rice had carrots, peas and corn in it for some reason. All of this tasted terrible. I'm truly broken as this was one of my favorite restaurants in the Berks, which I can never go back to. A sad day for the commonwealth.

I came in for lunch. The restaurant is much larger than you would think from the street. Complimentary tortilla chips were nice (ordinary). Salsa is ok - should be more spicy but it was ok. Background music Mexican traditional type was just right. Brick walls lovely and decorations festive. Super cool mural over bar. I got the Tuesday special which was a pork sandwich. The pork was tender and tasty - served on a torpedo style roll. I didn't personally care for the sandwich overall though. Wouldn't order it again. The sauce (hot) brought to table with meal was oddly spiced not in a good way!The French fries were super greasy and soggy. Service was fast and friendly. I'll probably try it again.

The food is always good here, as is the service. They always have music on and the Sangria is perfect. Also a big fan of the nachos!

Chicken had bones and tasted foul. Margs were super watery. Expensive dinner for a bad experience.

We were warmly greeted and seated promptly. The restaurant has an elegant, refined atmosphere, with crisp white tablecloths adding to its classic setting. We began with a pistachio martini, which was creamy, smooth, and delicious. Our server, Caylah T., graciously went over the evening's specials with us. She was pleasant, attentive, and professional throughout the meal, making the experience all the more enjoyable. For appetizers, we chose the red and yellow beet salad with arugula from the evening's specials. It was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. We also shared the tempura coconut shrimp, which was wonderfully flavorful. Four perfectly prepared shrimp were served over a small accompanying salad with a delicious coconut sauce that complemented the dish beautifully. It was an outstanding appetizer and one of the highlights of our meal. For our entrées, Hubby enjoyed the organic salmon, while I chose the seafood fra diavolo. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. My seafood fra diavolo was particularly satisfying, with fresh-tasting seafood and a wonderful balance of flavors. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience, and will certainly return the next time we're in the area.

To be fair, my husband's steak was delicious. My seafood risotto was HORRIBLE. The only seafood that was cooked correctly were the two shrimp on the plate. Eating the clams felt like I was licking the beach; there was so much sand in them. I'm not a professional chef, but even I know to soak the clams before cooking them. The mussels had a very strange taste to them, and the lobster was so overcooked it was like eating a rubber tire. Another couple at a table next to us ordered the duck. I asked them how it was and they shook their heads saying it was not good at all. They had gotten duck at another restaurant in Lenox and said it was delicious, this was not the case at Rare. Lesson learned, if you're going to Rare, order a steak, it doesn't seem like the chef knows how to cook anything else. Oh, and when I told the waitress how bad my meal was, she asked me if I wanted anything else. I said that I did not, as my stomach wasn't feeling it after the mouth full of sand. They offered no other compensation, no dessert, nothing off the bill, just "oh well, sorry you didn't like it".

I was just driving around when I spotted La Fogata on the corner. A Colombian restaurant? Yes, please--I was seriously hungry. I think my eyes did the ordering because I definitely got too much food, haha. Sebastian, my waiter, was incredible--super friendly and attentive. And the food? Absolutely fantastic. It hit the spot perfectly. I was so full I wasn't sure I'd make it back to my hotel. Totally useless and ready for a nap. The staff was amazing, and the food was so good that I came back the very next day for dinner. Highly recommend this place!

The restaurant had some lovely paintings, traditional bags, flowers, and other decorations. We were excited to try some traditional Colombian food, and appreciated the diversity of the menu. We ordered the bandeja tipica and the arroz con Camaro was, which was more than enough for two adults and two toddlers. My favorite was the arroz con camarones, as the yellow rice was wonderfully spiced and flavorful. The shrimp were delicious, and the tostones in both dishes also scrumptious and not too dry. The bandeja tipica's steak was cooked just right, that is to say not overcooked and still tender. The pork belly was too fatty for our taste, but it had a crispy texture and was well-seasoned. For their amount of meat and overall portion, the prices were fair to slightly high. The service was pretty good. We enjoyed our experience, but probably wouldn't go out of our way if we were in the area again.
