Cool spot in an old church with plenty of seating, service was fast. The pancakes are so fluffy, still thinking about them!

'Ello chaps! Brisbane Airport (BNE) is really the only commercial airport in South East Queensland, but offers various domestic and international options. This includes flights by Qantas, Virgin Australia, and Air New Zealand. Even saw international carriers like Air Canada and China Air. Both the domestic and international terminals feel modern, up to date, and comfortable. They're also easy to get around with plenty of signage clearly displaying where to go. There seem to be an abundance of small cafes and gift shops. Overall I give Brisbane Airport four stars out of five.

Short straight walk from the Oaks Charlotte Tower. It looks inconspicuous from the outside but when you get inside, you will give a wow! Super tall ceiling, this was an old church, and they converted it to an eatery. The staffs are friendly and attentive and the menu has a varied selection of pancake stacks and different choices. I had attached only what I was aiming for and the menu does run a little longer that what you see here. Go to Pancakes Manor to experience the menu ;) The pancakes arrived fluffy and slightly salted accompanied by generous serving of scrambled eggs, maple syrup and whipped butter. The maple syrup topping with the whipped butter made the slightly salted pancakes a superb treat in the mouth! Soft.. fluffy... yummy!!! Follow that with the eggs and you will be transported back to your kiddy past!! I felt that way... Do drop by if you are around the corner anytime ... oh yeah... it's 24 hrs... for all that craving!!!

It's a pancake house nothing fancy but the food is fine. The inside looks like a castle. Service was prompt, food reasonably priced, you should try it. Lots of suits of armor adds to a cool vibe.

The waffles were great, the coffee was fresh and hot. This was our 1st stop in Austria and we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast.

They were showing off a few items on their menu and gorgeous cocktail creations. My favorite was the rum punch. It is refreshing and before you know it, you need a refill. The food was incredible. Wagyu beef sliders with guacamole. Yes! I also loved the croquettes they were serving. For desert, the brought out brownies bites and strawberry tarts. I could have had a whole tray of strawberry tarts. The staff were SO nice!!! Even with so much going on and trying to keep up with the demands, the made sure you had a drink in your hand and you were having a great time. This made a great impression on me. I haven't been to the area so that made it even more appealing to come back. If this is just the preview of what kind of food and drink Chester B&B will serve, I will definitely be making the trek back real soon and bringing my friends!

It seems almost wrong 'updating my previous review' for Chester Street because the difference…read morebetween the same venue post-renovation and reformulation is vast. Seemingly as soon as they store opened under the hands of Damien Griffith, it shut for a little face-lift. While locals have been enjoying the fruits of a pop-up bakery while the renos were underway, the curtains were finally lifted this week in a series of test kitchen dinners and finally the grand re-opening on Friday. I was fortunate enough to attend one of the test kitchens (as a guest of the venue), and being on a table with other food bloggers meant we were able to sample almost 80% of the menu. From bar bites including a wagyu burger (my favourite), braised leek & bacon croquettes, fresh gravlax, creamy hummus with spiced lamb (which could have come with more than one slice of bread given the ample serving of hummus - it easily fed 6 of us), and a duck and mushroom pie (for the price, myself and others on the night agreed it could come with more of a ploughman's plate arrangement. The duck was moist and the side of pear chutney complimented it well). There's mains like the grilled barramundi (not amazing and a little dry in parts) or the lamb (this was the hero dish from everyone at the table). And, if there was still any room left there's a range of desserts by Jocelyn Hancock including my personal favourite the chocolate and almond cake with espresso creme fraiche. There's also a passionfruit tart, deconstructed eton mess and citrus cake. The space is beautifully simple with white subway tiles leaving way for the main attraction; the wood fired oven. Bakery by day, bar by night, this concept as are many born from Damien Griffith, is an ambitious one. But, if there's anyone in Brisbane to make it work it's this guy. It's novel to think that the same spot that can provide you a fresh loaf of ciabatta or sourdough at 7am can be feeding you delicious meals (either constructing a meal from the bar bites and sharing amongst a group or taking advantage of a main to yourself) and cocktails (try the Aperol Peach Spritz for a Summer refresher) at 7pm in the same day. I think this venue's versatility, location just a hop, skip and jump from James Street and combination of accessible fuss-free food with a focus on premium ingredients gives it an edge as the new "hot spot" in the area.

With 8 flavours and counting, you can choose your authentic korean bingsu flavours like injeolmi (soybean), misugaru (mixed grain), matcha and black sesame or your western flare of Nutella brownie, Oreo & chocolate. Each bingsu is crafted behind the scenes and looks magnificent when it is carried out! The portions are very generous and to devour a bingsu bowl, you need at least 2 to 3 people. Also, I love how the owners have great attention to detail. They freeze the bowls before piling the shaved ice and toppings on it. The shaved ice remains cold and powdery during the consumption duration and not a melted mess like other bingsu shops. The average price of the bingsu ranges from 14 to 15.5 AUD. My favourites are ranked from top to bottom: 1) misugaru with red bean, almond flakes and mochi 2) black sesame with red bean, mochi and a blanket of grinded black sesame powder on top of the shaved ice 3) matcha: scoop of tangy matcha froyo, red bean and a generous blanket of matcha powder on top of the fluffy shaved ice A side of milk is served to drizzle into the bingsu. Don't forget to eat your toppings or create a well in the bingsu because the milk will not absorb into the bingsu! Seating is limited! So for large groups, prefer to wait or walk a couple of circles to active your tummy for some delicious bingsu

NEWS FLASH: BRISBANE IN FROYO EXPLOSION…read more It seems January 2013 marks the month Brisbane opened its arms and embraced the FroYo trend that's been so prolific abroad. Similarly, it seems just as some of my fiercely dedicated froyo friends have overdosed to a point of no return, I'm launching into an all-consuming rose-coloured-glasses love for FroYo. Yep, I'm *that* late to the band wagon. Nominom (pink branding) is the second froyo chain to swing their doors open and share their self-serve frozen yoghurt goodness with Brisbane punters. Unlike it's friend up the road, Noggi (green branding), Nominom is DIY service. It was a rather non-conventional late lunch but who was I to argue with their twee bubblegum pink branding? Your path to FroYo enlightenment at Nominom is the standard self-service routine: + Pick your cup (one size - large), fill it with as many flavoured frozen yoghurts that you think you can handle (they'll be rotating their flavours and when I stopped by there was original, chocolate, blueberry, taro, green tea and a few others) + Shuffle along to the toppings station. They've set their toppings out into good (fruit), treats (candy, jelly bubbles and biscuits) and cereals. + Your final destination: weigh-in and cash register. The moment of truth to see just how well you've decked out your FroYo cup. I had put chocolate and green tea with watermelon and blueberries and it came to $6.38 for what I'd guess was about 300grams. They're running a 50% offer for the opening week so for $3.15 I was ready to take my cup of froyo home. The flavours of the yoghurt didn't pack as much punch as I'd want. The yoghurt could have been a little more tart and the flavours more pronounced. This is 100% personal preference, but I like the idea of being able to select the size of cup I'd like rather than a one size fits all and maybe this is something they'll introduce as they find their groove. It's great to see Brisbane embracing a new "food trend" and I hope people love it for a long time, not just a good time.

Thankfully their price tags prevent me from making decisions my metabolism will regret, though it means I haven't tried much of their offerings. On a special occasion, I called in to order a small flourless chocolate cake (34) - an easy choice when choosing for a chocolate lover. I was rather excited, as I'd never been able to justify going to Jocelyn's Provisions "just because." The flourless chocolate cake is a dense chocolate cake with chocolate nuts, and toffee and praline bits. Not having looked at the pictures too closely previously, we were all impressed with the sugar lattice on the cake. Although a bit of a strange combination to have paired chocolate with a sugar lattice (flavour-wise), it was a lovely touch to the cake. It says online that the small cake is for 6 people, but we managed to make eight pieces, with all of us being satisfied (and even having some difficulty finishing the cake after dinner at Siam Samrarn). Needless to say, that was one delicious rich and dense chocolate cake! Even though I tend to not be a fan of chocolate cakes - or just cakes in general - if you want a scrumptious and impressive looking cake, this is the place to go!
