I come here all the time it's amazing. People are nice and service is great. The food here is also great highly recommended.

My hard and fast rule about friendships is that if you don't like icecream, I really don't see a future with "US". And Gelatissimo (I recommend saying it with a heavy italian accent) is a great place to test out those possible friendships. Located in the heart of the city, this store is hard to miss with its candy coloured decor and irresistible displays of Gelati (both in dairy and sorbet flavour!) The staff are very friendly and do not bat an eye if you demand to try 6 or 7 flavours (not that I have ever done such a thing.) I can't get passed the green tea, pistachio, cherry or fig sorbet and while they are a bit pricy at $5 a scoop the products are very rich. This is an overall perfect place to cool down on these long hot summer days, and a sure first-date winner. read more

As a somewhat judgmental person, part of me wanted to hate this place because it is a massive corporate chain. I have yet to visit an Australian city that doesn't have a Gelatissimo. However, I have succumbed to the power of their "Veronese Chocolate". I have never had any gelato or ice cream flavor even remotely as good as this one. Veronese chocolate is rich, with little crunchy bits of who knows what yummy addictive chocolate goodness. The flavor is supposedly based on Ferrero Rocher chocolate candies, but in my opinion, this gelato far surpasses the candy in yumminess. I go out of my way to get this stuff. I have missed my bus to get this gelato, and I imagine I will miss many more to come. read more

I've always liked Gelatissimo. I think their gelati is well above average, and I always enjoy picking from their large range of flavours. It's only in the past year, though, that I've grown to LOVE Gelatissimo. What was the catalyst, one might ask. Two words: chocolate sorbet. Now, I'm not one to order chocolate flavoured things. I've never understood the appeal of chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, chocolate milk, or chocolate pudding. I've always felt that if you feel like chocolate, just eat chocolate. No, it was my chocolate-loving best friend who ordered the chocolate sorbet when it was introduced last year. As is par for the course, we had our little plastic spoons in each other's cups (no dirty jokes, okay. tee hee) before we were even out of the store. One taste of that shiz and I was hooked. My regular Gelatissimo order has changed to include my regular coconut gelato as well as a scoop of chocolate sorbet. It's hard to describe, this chocolate sorbet. It's not icy like sorbet, but it's not milky like gelati. It's very rich and dark and dense and oh god! I think you'd better try it for yourself. read more

This place has top-notch gelato with a great selection of flavours. I've been to places with more flavours to choose from, but they definitely have all the good ones covered here, plus some. It still took me a decent amount of staring at the display case and questioning looks from the server for me to decide on Pistachio and Chocolate Lemon Crunch. Both were excellent, by the way. Who doesn't love ICECREAM? I am getting a little worried that people are going to notice how many ice cream shops I visit and review, but I just love the cold sweetness of icecream. This shop was not exactly on the map where I expected it to be but I walked around for a few minutes and was able to spot it by the crowd of people picking flavors and others walking away licking their icy treats. This icecream is great, they offer a wide range of flavors to suit your mood from deciding chocolate to sweet sorbets. I opted for two fruit flavors, strawberry and passion fruit and they were delish just sweet enough and with a real fruit flavor. The price is fairly consistent with ice cream shops; two flavors for $6.90 which was a very generous serving. I would highly recommend checking out this tasty dessert shop. read more

Gelato... how can you not ever be good??? I was at Surfer's Paradise with some friends, and we were just looking for something sweet after our dinner and then we saw this place! I was instantly drawn into the massive amounts of colorful gelato that I couldn't resist. I am writing the review for this location since I can't seem to access the location in Surfer's Paradise. It's also nice that they let you try out some of the flavors as you don't want to spend $4-5 on something you don't like. I'm a huge chocolate person, so I ordered the dutch chocolate (I believe that's the right name), and it was absolutely delicious! I've come to realize that this is a chain of restaurants all throughout Brisbane. Can't wait for my next gelato venture! read more

This trusty lil' gelati shop has been the end point of so many of my drunken Friday evenings that I can navigate my way here blindfolded (but only from selected city bars and pubs). They have an endless of choice of flavours but I never go past the white chocolate and forest berries. I like to think that the forest berries sorbet has a cleansing effect on my liver which is advantageous on a Friday evening. As they don't provide seating, people usually perch upon the council seats nearby. I personally prefer to mill around outside Showgirls next door. I imagine the glamorous dancers come out on their break to eat gelati. Aaahh even writing about Gelatissimo conjures up nostalgic memories of Friday night drunks - smelly, tarty, exuberant, lachrymose, all staggering towards a common end point, not so different after all when it comes to preference in gelati. read more

That is how you should say the name of the shop when you enter (if you want to look and sound like a freak, unless you're actually Italian) so don't... i'm talking to you short tween girls in front of me in the line-up. Annnooooyyyying! Good thing there is quite the selection of Italian gelato spanning the length of the line-up in this little narrow store. Yes, so the gelato is italian big deal. Everyone eats it, it's good okay. But what's better about this place is not only the distinctively italian decor and delectable biscotti... yummo. It is the Affogato (espresso shot with a scoop of vanilla gelato). If you're not into coffee, just pay attention anyway. This drink, is the most authentic tasting affogato I have tasted in Brisbane, and I've tasted a few... double shots even... although, I wouldn't suggest the double shot let alone single shot of this stuff if you're planning on going to sleep in the next 3-4 hours, not going to happen mate. So go in for the magnificent gelato... gelati... to be honest i'm not sure what the difference is, but definetely give the italian coffee a try, it is fragrant and strong. Like bull! read more

If there's anything I'm picky about when it comes to gelati, it's the consistency. It wasn't a particularly hot night that my friend and I decided to get gelati after dinner in the city, but as soon as my scoop of Lime sorbet hit the air, it began melting into a frothy mess that I was practically drinking from the bottom of the cone after five minutes. The flavours themselves are delicious, but I don't know if it's a refrigeration problem, or the fact the fridges are constantly open because of the constant queues, but I like my ice cream to be solid enough to be bitten into. read more
