When your body literally cannot stomach any more pizza or pasta a meal at Panamar is a nice respite.
The thing that attracted me to the fast-casual Panamar was the thing I seemed unable to find anywhere else in the city of Naples: meal-sized salads. Elsewhere in town I landed some meal-sized salads (always featuring tuna) but what Panamar served was consistently different and better. Rather than skewing Italian, they seemed more Greek-leaning, but they were inventive and tasty where the salads elsewhere were not.
The Mazzancolle (10 euro) featured tempura prawns, mango, avocado, and sweet and sour onion in a yogurt-lime sauce. This salad was both well-priced and delicious. Ditto for the Salmone (also 10 euro) which featured a healthy dose of sashimi salmon for that low price point.
The salad less loved than the above two was the Baccala, a mix of cod, potato salad, green olives, fried capers, and more. This salad was less greens, more potato, and missed the mark for someone desiring greens but if you're seeking potatoes it's a win.
Located in the Vomero district, Panamar will creatively satisfy your desire for something other than Italian fare. read more
