First, he is very concerned about patient comfort, and I have never experienced any painful dentistry with him (although I have literally been in agony and tears with other dentists). He always ensures the area is completely numb, and constantly checks to ensure that as he works, I am completely comfortable. His caring manner, professional demeanor, and expert skills always put me at ease. I actually look forward to going to the dentist because of him! Once I had an abscess that needed immediate attention, as I was due to fly overseas in 3 days. He and his staff invited me into the office the same day, he completely skipped lunch to work on me, and he arranged with another dentist in the office to do additional work that I needed (as David Moheban had other patients scheduled). They fixed the problem so that I could make my international trip, and upon my return have a root canal and crown. Even when the second dentist was working in me, David Moheban stopped in to see me between his other patients. He has done many, many fillings for me, including new multi-surface fillings and replaced old metal fillings with composite, restoring the integrity of my fillings. He has made my smile much more attractive since the old metal fillings could be seen. I now can smile with confidence, as all the dark metal is gone, replaced with perfectly matching composite fillings. I broke an incisor, chipping off the front bottom corner of the tooth completely, and he saw me immediately and used composite to rebuild the broken part of the tooth. His work is so precise and such a perfect match in color and shape that no one can tell I broke that tooth. He has been able to reconstruct some teeth for me via multi-surface fillings, whereas another dentist might just go the easier and much more expensive (for me) route of insisting on a crown. This saved me hundreds of dollars, and all my repaired teeth, even 9 years later, look and function perfectly. Every single piece of work he has done has withstood the test of time, as well as the occasional weak moment I've had of biting down on Everlasting Gobstoppers :-) I regularly get compliments on my smile, and its attractiveness is definitely due to Dr. David Moheban's work. David Moheban is constantly educating himself on new technologies and techniques, and works to improve dental care not just with straight dental work on one's teeth, but also implementing new innovations such as digital X-rays and promoting file systems that share patient records and X-rays among multiple offices. Dr David Moheban is the epitome of caring, patient-centered, and constantly improving dental care. I urge you to ask for him by name, as there is no other dentist I have ever met that has done such amazing work while keeping my comfort, my satisfaction with my smile, and even my pocketbook in mind!

Dr. Moynihan is a contracted provider with MetLife. Instead, he confirmed that he would collect payments from MetLife and bill me additionally for my son's orthodontic treatment. He also misled me, stating that my dental insurance would not cover images, braces fitting, and other services associated with the orthodontic work. He didn't even offer a treatment plan but started discussing finances immediately. When I told him he must adhere to the legal contract he signed with MetLife, he refused to provide care. Instead, he wanted to charge me $6,500 + additional charges for orthodontic work.

I really didn't want to go to a dentist again so soon after my last visit to my previous dentist only 2 months ago but I'm really glad I made the trip to Moynihan Dental Specialists. The experience was so much more personal than any of the offices I've been to in Boston. Right away I was greeted by a friendly face upon my arrival. I didn't have to wait very long either before my name was called. Dr. Leung showed me everything and explained what I was seeing so that I could understand the danger I was facing after part of my filling came out. He was very patient and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole appointment and spent a good amount of time making sure my bite was perfect and didn't feel uncomfortable after the filling was replaced. You can really tell that he cares about his patients. I was even given a free consultation about Invisalign verses braces by Dr. Moynihan which was awesome because I've been wanting to fix my overbite for some time now. Overall the whole office is wonderful. They really go out of their way to making sure their patients leave their office with a smile on their face. Definitely planning on coming back!

Finally the call came, not to tell us she was ready with the Invisalign but to tell us that she was moving, that all of the records were reviewed and the same course of treatment along with costs were accepted by another orthodontist. We learned that nothing had been started though we were strung along. We learned from this other orthodontist that the price was not agreed upon and there was an increase of $1200. We also learned that the molds taken months earlier and the records were never transferred over and that new molds would be needed. We did receive a check back from Dr. Pardo for the down payment but that's not enough. She accepted our money and gave us false hopes on the course of treatment. She lied to us and as a result of those lies we are now faced with an increase of $1200, a significant delay in the treatment for my daughter, and a change in the treatment process. She made a decision to take our money (cash) KNOWING she was moving. She lied to us that the fees and procedure had been discussed and approved by the new orthodontist KNOWING that it hadn't been discussed and KNOWING that the fee structure was not going to be the same. The course of treatment was not agreed upon. I cannot recommend someone that repeatedly lies. Sorry Dr. Pardo but you have cost us a significant amount of money and now refuse to return our calls. YOUR LIES HAVE COST US.

I started my treatment with the previous owner of the practice who fell ill and suddenly had to sell the practice. Dr. Pardo took over my treatment after only a few months of my braces being on. I have to just say, Dr. Pardo and her staff never let me down. She took over my case and reassured me that getting braces was the best decision I had made for myself. Even though she had taken over my treatment that another Doctor had started, I never felt out of the loop about anything. Everything went so smooth and I was out of braces a few months earlier than I was told in the beginning. I am so happy with the results of my treatment. I have a gorgeous smile that I love showing off. I am getting married in two months and Dr. Pardo and her staff worked with me every step of the way to make sure my braces were off in time. Most importantly, Dr.Zaki has a pair of gentle hands and I had a few bad teeth that got quite messed up in other places. He listened to me attentively, and even gave me an upgraded crown that was quite microbial resistant - I used to spend time every night to scrape off stuff from the molar, this new crown don't let those microbes stick! What a kind dental office. I will give 10 stars if I could. He even gave me samples of great toothpastes that makes brushing so comfortable I got some for my mom. She loved me for it :) Not to mention, my last dental cleaning was so good I felt like I had a "microdermabrasion" in my mouth - that deep cleansing that makes you feel so good afterward. She had terrible interaction skills with my 4 year old who is new to a dental office (2nd/3rd time). My child had a cavity identified during the initial visit that needed to be addressed. We came back over for the follow up where initially with the [perfectly lovely and child-centered] hygienist, we were told that my child could sit on my lap to make the experience more comfortable for her. The dentist proceeded to come in, and told us it wasn't going to work like that and that she would have to sit on her own to get the procedure done. I don't know if anyone else has ever dealt with 4 year olds, but when one set of expectations is set and then pulled off the table, it typically doesn't go well. As I was comforting her, I can hear Dr. Himelhoch in the background tell my child "Well, you don't really have an option" AS MY CHILD IS CRYING. Then, she proceeded to ask if I needed assistance in restraining my child to get her in the seat. Finally, when my child is inconsolable, she suggested getting the infant lap seat. If that was an option, why wasn't that the initial suggestion instead of waiting for the inconsolable child to get to that level. When I finally told them I did not want to go forward to it today as it was out of control at that point, she then proceeded to address my child with a "I'm very disappointed in you for making this so difficult for you mom." WHAT?!?

There have been at least two incidents where I called in while the office was closed for vacation, and she called back personally and met me in her office outside of work hours. I have been coming to this dental practice for approx. 20 years (all the way back from when Dr…read more Bornstein used to own the practice). Approximately 1-2 years ago they started placing very strong air fresheners in the waiting area which subsequently wafted throughout the whole practice into the examination rooms (no doors). I have sensitivity to air fresheners and fragrances (even so called "natural ones") and every time I would come in here for an appointment I would get terrible headaches, nausea, itchy nose and throat. These air fresheners are extremely toxic (just do a search on the web or go to the American Lung Association's website: www.lung.org). When I requested that the doctor remove these air fresheners from the waiting room because of my health concerns (backed up by evidence) he refused. Dr. M did offer to walk me into the office through the back entrance to the (to avoid the waiting area), but given that there are no doors on these exam rooms & the air fresheners are so strong- the smell permeated the entire practice (so it was a futile gesture). Given the above situation I was facing, I knew I was going to have to leave Dr. M's practice after 20 years and go through the hassle of finding a new dentist (the only option I had because I was continually getting sick when I came here). When I finally found another practice nearby, the new practice only wanted my most recent bitewing x-rays emailed to them (not my entire chart). When I requested that Dr. M's office email over only my most recent bitewing X-rays, they kept insisting that I pay a $25 fee. Just to send one email with a few pics attached? I felt this fee was an obvious money-grab when the only reason I'm looking for a new dentist in the first place is because Dr. M would rather have the office smell "springtime fresh" (using phony & toxic chemicals) rather than concerning himself with the health & welfare of both his employees and patients -which should be any doctors first and foremost priority. After repeated emails (3) and stressful phone calls (2), the office ultimately did email my X-rays over to the new practice. However, I was (am) very disappointed that this practice treats their patients this way after years of loyal patronage (never owing them a dime in overdue bills). Shocked really. I will now only patronize doctors who put my health first (not aesthetics & pretty smelling waiting rooms).
