I am extremely disappointed with our experience at Worcester Kids Dentist…read more Every time my children went in for a cleaning and exam, the X-rays would show a couple of cavities. Then when we returned for treatment, somehow the number of cavities had increased significantly....often to two or three times what was originally discussed. As a parent, that raised serious concerns and left me questioning the consistency of the diagnoses. On top of that, despite having scheduled appointments, we routinely waited close to an hour before being seen. It's frustrating to rearrange work and family schedules only to spend that much time waiting. Unfortunately, between the repeated changes in treatment recommendations and the excessive wait times, we've lost confidence in the practice. Needless to say, we will not be returning. I've moved all 3 of my kids to a new dentist.

The good part is they are very accommodating; I appreciated that they took me in immediately when I had a dental emergency on a weekend, and I wasn't even a patient yet. They worked with me on follow up care by providing appointments to fit my schedule. But I have always had an issue with using those bite blocks and keeping bite-wing x-ray tabs in place. They made no attempt to hide their frustration and annoyance over it. I dreaded the attitude I got over it more than the procedures themselves. I was also fitted for a partial. You would think at this point in the history of dental progress there would be a device that didn't feel like an entire Lego set was constructed in your mouth. Apparently, there is but my insurance only covered the other one. When I was first fitted I made it clear I was going to have a lot of trouble adjusting to it. The attitude was essentially that beggars can't be choosers and I better learn to deal with the one I got. I offered upfront to pay the difference between the bulky one and the thinner, lightweight one, but they said, with no explanation, that it was not possible. The final product was thick and clumsy. I asked if there was anything they could do about it and, again, my concerns were met with condescension and dismissiveness. The solution they offered, and I quote, was "Then you just don't have to wear it." I'm not sure this attitude was part of the vision the owners had for dental health, but this is where we are.

Everyone (and I mean everyone) is so nice, compassionate and caring. Ended up with four filling replacements and Dr. Nutter took care of them in one visit. This is the first time that I can recall having multiple teeth worked on and having NO pain. The office moved to Grafton Street. I followed. Thirteen years later I am still a patient. Dr. Mundra and her staff are a joy to work with. In my case, my salivary glands became underachievers as a result of a medication I was prescribed. The number of cavities I got began to increase. But, as one of the hygienists put it, "it's our job to educate, not to judge." The hygienists were more than willing to teach how to protect my teeth. Swishing with water after eating; reducing sugar in the diet; showing me how to improve flossing and brushing techniques, and suggesting products (with coupons) that keep the mouth moist improved things nicely. As a result, I had fewer cavities. Plus, I lost fifteen pounds in eight months, and my A1C level is lower. Dentistry is truly important for the whole body. Thank you Grace Family Dental.
