This review is for their bill and insurance department, who can do a better job in educating and helping the patients. Before we came in, we called the office to ask if they accept our insurance. We were told the office did accept our insurance. But they never told me that it is out of network charge. We took the x ray and the doctor took a look at my kid's teeth for 2 minutes. We also had regular check ups one month later. Two months later, we received a bill for 243 dollars. 135 dollars for the emergency visit and 108 dollars for preventative checkup. We have to pay the full amount. The bill department clerk is not being helpful or friendly. We will switch back to our previous dentist, whose charge is more transparent and who is helpful when having issues with the insurance . We will not come in again.

With people like her, gone are the days when kids were afraid of the dentist... At least mine. The office is in a bit of an older building, but the layout is nice and clean. They called my mothers phone that does not belong to me asking me to "confirm my appointment", I called this morning 4 hours before my appointment to verify the time (not knowing I had to confirm) when I was told the "gave my appointment to someone else because I did not call within 48 hours", when I 1. Was never told to confirm the appointment when booking, and 2. Received a call to confirm my appointment less than 24 hours before my scheduled time. The lady on the phone was extremely unprofessional, my sister who had an appointment that day as well had called to confirm her appointment an hour prior to going in, and when she arrived the receptionist began to explicitly talk about me to her coworker saying this was the sister of the girl who called earlier and proceeded to roll her eyes. I had told her when I called that this was ridiculous and that I would be going somewhere else. My sister had to change the insurance on file when the receptionist looked at her and said "should I do this for your sister too or is she actually going somewhere else or was it a heat of the moment", no it was not the "heat of the moment", I have been going there for 7 years and have never missed an appointment and they want to disregard my time. I live 45 mins away had I driven to the dentist it would have been a waste of time they did not even care to let me know they gave up the appointment. I will be going to Franklin Dental who did a MUCH better job fitting me into their schedule.

The staff and dental hygienists were completely exceptional, and it is unfortunate that Dr…read more Himelhoch was utterly terrible. She had terrible interaction skills with my 4 year old who is new to a dental office (2nd/3rd time). My child had a cavity identified during the initial visit that needed to be addressed. We came back over for the follow up where initially with the [perfectly lovely and child-centered] hygienist, we were told that my child could sit on my lap to make the experience more comfortable for her. The dentist proceeded to come in, and told us it wasn't going to work like that and that she would have to sit on her own to get the procedure done. I don't know if anyone else has ever dealt with 4 year olds, but when one set of expectations is set and then pulled off the table, it typically doesn't go well. As I was comforting her, I can hear Dr. Himelhoch in the background tell my child "Well, you don't really have an option" AS MY CHILD IS CRYING. Then, she proceeded to ask if I needed assistance in restraining my child to get her in the seat. Finally, when my child is inconsolable, she suggested getting the infant lap seat. If that was an option, why wasn't that the initial suggestion instead of waiting for the inconsolable child to get to that level. When I finally told them I did not want to go forward to it today as it was out of control at that point, she then proceeded to address my child with a "I'm very disappointed in you for making this so difficult for you mom." WHAT?!?

The staff is great, and just as importantly Dr. Himelhoch cares. There have been at least two incidents where I called in while the office was closed for vacation, and she called back personally and met me in her office outside of work hours. For us, we were looking for someone with the education and experience that she has for our kid's braces. Nothing bad to say, sometimes busy and you have to wait a little but they do keep things moving in the office.

Knowing that local anesthesia is safer than sedation, we sought another option. I am SO glad that we went with Dr. R!! He also offered a slightly different technique to make the recovery much less painful, and our teen made a quick recovery. I cannot praise Dr. R's terrific skills and great bedside manner highly enough! You will be in really great hands here.

At one appointment he told me he was okay with it as long as I didn't hold him responsible for some catastrophic dental issue that might arise from my lack of X-rays, but the following appointment 6 months later, he became very aggressive and told me I could not come back unless I agreed to his X-ray requirements. So obviously I did not return. And the fact that at first he was okay with very limited X-rays and then the next appointment he wasn't and was much more aggressive... tells me it was more about the money and not really that something could go horribly and inexplicably wrong without X-rays. I always found him a bit aggressive... maybe short-man complex... but, in fairness, he was a good dentist otherwise. Good luck.

Dr. Leung showed me everything and explained what I was seeing so that I could understand the danger I was facing after part of my filling came out.
