This review is for their bill and insurance department, who can do a better job in educating and helping the patients. Before we came in, we called the office to ask if they accept our insurance. We were told the office did accept our insurance. But they never told me that it is out of network charge. We took the x ray and the doctor took a look at my kid's teeth for 2 minutes. We also had regular check ups one month later. Two months later, we received a bill for 243 dollars. 135 dollars for the emergency visit and 108 dollars for preventative checkup. We have to pay the full amount. The bill department clerk is not being helpful or friendly. We will switch back to our previous dentist, whose charge is more transparent and who is helpful when having issues with the insurance . We will not come in again.

Was never told to confirm the appointment when booking, and 2. Received a call to confirm my appointment less than 24 hours before my scheduled time. The lady on the phone was extremely unprofessional, my sister who had an appointment that day as well had called to confirm her appointment an hour prior to going in, and when she arrived the receptionist began to explicitly talk about me to her coworker saying this was the sister of the girl who called earlier and proceeded to roll her eyes. I had told her when I called that this was ridiculous and that I would be going somewhere else. My sister had to change the insurance on file when the receptionist looked at her and said "should I do this for your sister too or is she actually going somewhere else or was it a heat of the moment", no it was not the "heat of the moment", I have been going there for 7 years and have never missed an appointment and they want to disregard my time. I live 45 mins away had I driven to the dentist it would have been a waste of time they did not even care to let me know they gave up the appointment. I will be going to Franklin Dental who did a MUCH better job fitting me into their schedule.

Knowing that local anesthesia is safer than sedation, we sought another option. I am SO glad that we went with Dr. R!! Not only was Dr R calm and reassuring to our teen, he got everything done quickly and efficiently using just local anesthesia, and it looks great. He also offered a slightly different technique to make the recovery much less painful, and our teen made a quick recovery. I cannot praise Dr. R's terrific skills and great bedside manner highly enough! You will be in really great hands here.

At one appointment he told me he was okay with it as long as I didn't hold him responsible for some catastrophic dental issue that might arise from my lack of X-rays, but the following appointment 6 months later, he became very aggressive and told me I could not come back unless I agreed to his X-ray requirements. So obviously I did not return. And the fact that at first he was okay with very limited X-rays and then the next appointment he wasn't and was much more aggressive... tells me it was more about the money and not really that something could go horribly and inexplicably wrong without X-rays. I always found him a bit aggressive... maybe short-man complex... but, in fairness, he was a good dentist otherwise. Good luck.

Instead, he confirmed that he would collect payments from MetLife and bill me additionally for my son's orthodontic treatment. He also misled me, stating that my dental insurance would not cover images, braces fitting, and other services associated with the orthodontic work. He didn't even offer a treatment plan but started discussing finances immediately. When I told him he must adhere to the legal contract he signed with MetLife, he refused to provide care. Instead, he wanted to charge me $6,500 + additional charges for orthodontic work.

I really didn't want to go to a dentist again so soon after my last visit to my previous dentist only 2 months ago but I'm really glad I made the trip to Moynihan Dental Specialists. The experience was so much more personal than any of the offices I've been to in Boston. Right away I was greeted by a friendly face upon my arrival. I didn't have to wait very long either before my name was called. Dr. Leung showed me everything and explained what I was seeing so that I could understand the danger I was facing after part of my filling came out. He was very patient and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole appointment and spent a good amount of time making sure my bite was perfect and didn't feel uncomfortable after the filling was replaced. You can really tell that he cares about his patients. I was even given a free consultation about Invisalign verses braces by Dr. Moynihan which was awesome because I've been wanting to fix my overbite for some time now.
