I went in with my kids for a cleaning. I told them I didn't want to get x rays because I thought I may be pregnant. And they didn't want to do the cleaning Because I didn't want to get x ray. What a waste of time. Plus the insurance didn't cover for x ray. So why am I being forced to get x ray. If I don't feel comfortable having a big bill at the moment. My first experience was terrible, but I thought I'll give it another try. The first time the receptionist didn't verify any of my information to make sure she had my account and said I had some insurance which I didn't. Then she said I couldn't be seen that day because she couldn't run the insurance and needed to reschedule. For the second visit, I never got a call to confirm the appointment so when I went to the appointment, they didn't have me scheduled. The cleaning was not very thorough and was only in the chair about 20 minutes with part of it having x-rays done. Previous dentists appointments were at least 45 minutes. I am all set with this dentist office who I am guessing all they care about is money and not actually caring for your teeth properly. They didn't even floss my teeth and I couldn't understand most of what the dentist was saying. Back to the drawing board of finding a new dentist. read more

This is 1 of only 2 places in Worcester to get dental care that accepts MassHealth, and even then, I would say please don't go here. You have to fill out 5 pieces of paperwork by hand every year for appointments. They take x-rays every 6 months with a cleaning, way overdoing it per any dental association, likely just to get insurance reimbursements. The cleanings are sloppy jobs done by the dentists rather than a hygienist because they clearly don't have the funds for enough staff. They even ran out of clips for the bibs, so I have to have a loose piece of paper on my chest for my cleaning. There's no online portal, so you have to rely on phone calls to confirm your appointments. They didn't call me for my follow up appointment and had the wrong phone number on file, but blamed for not answering, even after I showed them my call log. Rather than apologizing, I had the desk staff arguing with me, and I had to wait 45 minutes for my appointment. Each dentist I've had has the poorest bedside manner I've ever experienced. One blamed me for not going to a dentist for 2.5 years after I explained I didn't have dental insurance at the time. They forget to even give you glasses until requested after sprays you in the eyes with water. Now, for my most recent appointment, I was told I have 2 cavities, one on each side of my upper teeth. My dentist instead filled two on only the left side of my face, and I was told at the end of the appointment, after the procedure, to come back to have another filled. I was given no warning about the anesthetic and needle, and he walked out of the room to see another patient without telling me how long he would be back. Cue over 6 hours later from my appointment, my left lower face is still completely numb to the point where I feel uncomfortable eating. I was told it would take 2 hours to wear off. I called to report the excessive anesthesia, lack of communication, poor bedside manner, and discrepancies between 2 vs. 3 cavities and the amount of appointments, and I was met with a nasty office manager who argued with me once again. It took 3 times explaining my issue and back and forth excuses to get the most insincere apology I've ever heard. Looking into it, Dental Dreams was found liable for dental fraud and had to pay over a million dollars in 2017, so I'm unsurprised by how unprofessional this entire business operates. Subpar cleanings by the dentists themselves, seeing multiple patients at once, running out of bib clips, too frequent x-rays for insurance reimbursements, and staff who could care less about their jobs, I wouldn't even send my worst enemy here. read more

On his visit today for the filling 1/2 hour into the appt they let a 12yr old that insurance don't cover filling, and that he should decide whether to go ahead and pay for it or reschedule? The kids cleanings are a total joke...a quick toothbrush cleaning and barely an attempt at xrays. I was told my 5 year old had several cavaties and after switching to a real dental office I was told my son not only had zero cavaties but his teeth looked great. This place is a scam. My friend is very upset after her botched root canal. At the moment, while I type up this review, she is sitting in the waiting room... it is the morning after the procedure, and she decided she would return to the Dental Dreams office t so they could see the aftermath first hand -- My poor friend's very saveable tooth broke right off. MIND you, we're under the impression that her tooth was quite repairable because we are both assuming that a COMPETENT dentist, and person, would have informed her during the inital consultation if there were any significant risks beyond his control. Maybe like "Gee, this particular tooth is going to be a challenge... I want you to understand that there is some risk that the tooth may not be strong enough to stand alone. If that is the case I will have to pull it anyway." I'm pretty sure from the way my friend explained it to me.... that it was probably a pretty standard procedure.) I suggested before she sit down in that chair again, maybe she should call a different dentist to help decide if its better to let the original dentist to continue with the same work in an attempt to maybe fix it, or allow a fresh set of eyes to have a look? Someetimes the best course of action to take is not always clear... especially if it's yourself. Hmm. One thing I know is.... I have heard too many negative things about this place, and so I'm going to be getting my dental work done at "Our Family Dental" on Southbridge Street in Worcester. This place is aweful. One of the fillings they gave me fell out in two months and the other one was done incorrectly so it caused me pain, and my teeth felt fine before going there! That's all you really need to know but I'll tell you the full story in case someone feels like hearing it. I went in for a simple cleaning, the dentist said I had two cavities. She wanted to fill them right there, told her I had plans to go out to dinner, so if they needed to numb my mouth I'd rather just come back. She said they were tiny and would not need lidocaine. After she started drilling it was very painful, and at that point you have a hole in your tooth so you can't exactly stop, so they had to numb me. She ended up having t numb me twice because it was still painful as she was drilling. It ruined my dinner because half my face was numb. But I can forgive all that because maybe I'm just very sensitive and a most people would have tolerated those filling without numbing like she had said. One of my fillings was painful from the start, but I read online that can happen because it can take time for fillings to "settle" . After about two months I suddenly had intense pain on one of my other teeth whenever I ate, drank, etc. I went to a different dentist and one filling had already fallen out! The other filling that had been hurting all that time was done incorrectly. My dental insurance would not cover getting them fixed at a different place because it was too soon after the original fillings were done, and said if I go back to Dental Dreams they should fix them for free since they messed up. Well no way was I going back there, so I paid out of pocket top get my teeth fixed by someone else. Now I have no pain in my teeth. I felt like they were pressuring me to get my cavities filled right then, and rushed it and messed up. I had no pain or problems before going there, cant help but feel like I was duped and maybe there were no cavities to start with and they just wanted my money. The facility itself is not particularly nice and smells musky. I now call this place Dental Nightmares. I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

I had a cleaning. The dentist used an electronic tool to clean the front and back of teeth but did nothing in between the teeth. No flossing. No tarter removal. My husband was fitted for a part and told the part would be there in less than 7 days. It has been 7 days. They are now saying 15 days. We have already paid for the part. read more

I called Dental Dreams & explained that I was in extreme discomfort & believed that I needed a root canal in my molar ASAP. I specifically asked if my appointment would be to perform the actual work or simply a consultation. The receptionist assured me they would do the root canal that day. They took me 30 minutes late, performed two X-rays, told me they don't do molar root canals at that office, & offered to write me a referral to another office. Now I'm out a day of work & on the hook for a useless office visit, with zero work performed, & absolutely no resolution. I have been afraid of the dentist for all my life. I am now 55 and having to have all my teeth out and get dentures. Dr Kim is a wonderful calming dentist and she explains everything she is going to do. I mostly appreciate the kindness of the front desk people. Plus this location never makes you feel bad for not having gone to the dentist or having bad teeth like other places I went to. I even recommended them to my d-i-l for herself and the grandkids. They have a playroom for the kids so it makes the experience a lot less scary. read more

I waited about 30 minutes after my appointment to get my teeth cleaned. She brushed my teeth for less than a minute, then used an electric scraping tool on me and it was extremely uncomfortable, almost painful. When I rinsed my mouth there was more blood than usual. After spending only five minutes on me she told me I was all set to go. The dentist never even checked my teeth.... When I got home I noticed tiny CRACKS all over my teeth! Also, they feel sensitive when I eat or brush my teeth even though it's been 4 days since the cleaning. I usually enjoy getting my teeth cleaned but my experience here was anything but enjoyable. I went to the Stafford st. location yesterday to inquire about having a tooth extracted. I was told that it would cost 105.70 for an exam and simple extraction, if i required surgery it would be $270. Made an appointment for today at 3:00, meaning I had to leave work an hour early. I get there, fill out the paperwork and sign the bill stating that i pay $105.70 (mind you, i explained that I had just started a new job and would pay cash as I was not yet eligible for private insurance through my company). After I was examined, I was shown paperwork billing me for the $105.70 plus another $270 to remove the tooth! The tooth is in one piece and very loose already, they never mentioned having to do any surgery! I said thats not what we agreed on and got up and said I'm leaving, I'm not going to pay that much. I was told that the $105.70 would go to a collection agency. What a bunch of scam artists! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have been going here for a few years because this is where my grandmother set me up and what took my insurance. Two years ago when I had braces, I had a cavity - the doctor refused to touch it with braces on which is okay understandable. Now two years later with the braces off, suddenly the cavity is "fine" and doesn't need to be touched. The dentist also said I have bleeding gums which I don't only when they do the cleaning so rigorously. I never have a problem when brushing or flushing. So he refused to fill my cavity because of my "bleeding gums". Fast forward to a month, I now have another cavity on my left side and my tooth is in pain.. had no idea I had one because he didn't mention at my last appointment. I called today and they said to come in but no promises to be seen because they were already booked which is alright. I still went and oddly was called in after 5 minutes of waiting. The doctor said oh you're here for a filling? I said yes, my tooth is in pain. He then started to say it's my gums that are inflamed and is what's causing the pain but my gums feel fine and I reassure him it's my tooth. He said oh it will go away no need to fill it. Just coming up with every excuse in the book. I decided to get up and tell him I will go to another dentist that will do the job. I am sick of being turned down because they don't want to do anything. They are always so quick to take patients way more than what they can handle so they can get paid but can't even properly treat the patients. read more

I went there complaining about pain. They did xrays and told me to floss and sent me on my way. They did nothing to help the pain. I took a copy of my xrays and went to a REALLY DENTIST and they said they couldn't even read the xrays because it didn't show all the teeth. If you are even thinking about going to Dental dreams I would reconsidor. My experience there was horrible. My appointment was at 1:30 I had got there at 1:15 they forgot about me so I had to remind them that I was still waiting. I dont see how I could be forgotten there was only 2 other people sitting there. So I wasn't seen until 2:45 when I got into the booth not room there were a bunch of cubicles just sectioned off by wall sectionals so whoever walks by your open for all to see. So the girl starts by giving me xrays after that left me sitting for another half hour. Then informs me she needs to take another set of xrays. then I wait for another 10 mins now as I'm waiting two of the assistants are sitting in the other cubicle haveing a good ol' time braiding each others hair laughing and haveing a conversation while I'm waiting. After 10 mins another girl comes in and says she needs to take another set of xrays, by now I'm fumeing. So I wait about another 10 mins finally the dentist comes in and says sorry for the wait. He tells me what needs to be done and proceeds to clean my teeth as he is doing that he drops the device he was useing wich was heavy onto my teeth wich was heavy enough to break or chip my tooth. He says oops r you ok. I didnt respond. I'm done finally so I go to check out and to scedule my next appointment mind you there is noone they are waiting on. It takes the desk lady 5 min to take the paper from the girl. When she did that she then told me I needed to take a seat that it would be a few mins by now it was getting dark out and it was 4:45 I said I had enough I'm out of here and the desk lady yelled out for me to have a good day. Please do not waste your time to go there. This review shouldn't have even took up this amount of space, I have never in my life had an appointment like this, it was the worst ever. As I came across this rant, I can't say I'm surprised and I can't help but to share my story. Where do I begin? I had brought my 8 year old daughter to this office for the first time about a year ago. When I first got to my appointment (10 minutes early) the waiting room was packed. I waited almost an hour until my daughter was called in to be seen. (Why bother making an appointment?) The tension in this place is absurd. You can literally feel the stress lingering in the waiting room. The poor receptionists were bombarded with phone calls, unhappy parents and piles of paperwork. All I could think to myself was "Where is the manager?" Anyways, we probably should have just walked in for our appointments, we would have been seen sooner. When we were finally called back, we were seated in the room for a good ten minutes before the assistant finally returned to start X-rays. Also, what ever happened to hygienests? The dentist simply brushed my daughters teeth in a matter of seconds. No scrpaing, no flossing.. nothing. Just a simple brushing that lasted all but 15 seconds. When the X-rays were done, the doctor came in and quickly explained that my daughter not only had 5 cavities, but that she also needed 2 of her BABY teeth removed. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I'm a dentist, because I'm simply not. But I do know that my daughter doesn't drink soft drinks, nor does she care for junkfood. After a small discussion, the dentist TOLD ME (didn't ask) that they would fix all of the teeth that day and that it "wouldn't take long." Not wanting my daughter to get any infections, I allowed the procedures. Once again, I am not a dentist, BUT.. I am confused as to how 5 fillings can succesfully be completed in a matter of 10 minutes. When the fillings were complete, the dentist proceeded to numb my daughter and immidiately remove the 2 baby teeth. Though they used the novacaine, my daughter screamed in pain as the teeth were pulled and I am confident that she felt everything. (Like I said, they just numbed her then pulled the teeth. Didn't even allow time for her to numb up.) Not even a week had passed when my daughter came to me explaining that she had "2 holes in her teeth". We returned to the office and the dentist replaced the 2 fillings in a matter of SECONDS telling me that "the fillings must have come out when she was eating sticky candies." Once again, my daughter does not care for candy or junkfood. Not even 2 weeks had passed before 3 of the fillings fell out. Furiated, I brought her elsewhere where she was taken care of. When i went to the office and demanded her records and X-Rays, they explained that it would take 2 weeks because their corporate office must first "OK" it. Gee, I don't want to start accusations but that's pretty convienent, no? Sounds like a good way to cover your a** if you ask me. With that being said, It's pretty clear that I would never return to this establishment regardless of how much pain I may be in, nor would i ever refer any human being to this place. It's an assembly line for teeth, all these people care about is getting their money. It's shitty dentistry aimed at those of us who are not wealthy enough to afford private care. Dr. Bareny is a joke and will tell you anything under the sun so he can drill away at your child's mouth. All the staff here are visibly miserable (It's clear they're all underpaid and overworked.) If you want to keep your teeth and peace of mind, avoid this place at all costs. Sadly, the lowest rating I can give this place is one star. read more
